I have a number of sales from my big Chicago haul to discuss, hopefully sometime in the next few days I’ll have a post related to that. But I had some interesting sales besides that this week.
This holistic veterinary DVD, which I bought at a library sale for a buck or two, was a nice $30 sale.
This Ulysses S. Grant Leaf sketch card, a scavenge of the week for a mere $0.99 a few months back, sold for an offer of $150.
This World War 2 autographed photo was another online purchase from the same large consignment seller. Cost me about $7 and sold for $40.
I bought this paperback memoir in my favorite Philly thrift store for $0.99 and it sold for $39.99. Valuable because it’s out of print.
What did you sell this week?

Delta Shopmaster 18V 18 Volt Diagnostic Battery Charger Model CL180C
Sold for full price $40. Paid $1 at a yard sale. You can’t go wrong with tool battery chargers. I always test them with my multimeter to make sure they are outputting the correct voltage.

Reebok Marshall University Basketball Track Suit Vintage Size XL Lined
Sold for $75 on offer pretty quickly. I’ve sold so many pieces of athlete issued clothing over the years from the local university. If you live near a university that plays division I sports you should keep an eye out. Marshall has a pretty devout fan base so the market on my items may be a bit skewed. Go Herd!

Bette Davis Collection – Volume 1 (DVD, 2008, 5-Disc Set) – New Sealed
This one caught my eye at a local pawn shop. Occasionally I stop in on my lunch to see if they have games or DVD’s that they missed the value on. It takes all of 5 minutes to check. This particular day they had 3 dvd sets – all valued at $40-50. This was one of them. Paid $7.

Vintage Satin Jacket Black Bluegrass Cardinals Graphic Men’s Size M
I got a message from a buyer regarding this jacket. Said they were a fan of the band and was curious about the history. So I told them the truth – I bought it off an old man at a yard sale in my neighborhood in WV and I had no idea if it was his or not. They paid full price. I paid $1 at the sale.
I’m not posting my hoarder sales here as there really isn’t a story with them other than what I’ve already shared. Feel free to look at my solds on ebay if you want to see the big ticket hoarder sales!

I had a piss poor week. I’ve already sold as many items Sun/Mon that I sold all last week, so I don’t have much to say. However, I had one item sell within the hour, and I kinda wonder if anyone knows anything about it.
It is a decorative tile, which I know to be good sellers, but the ones I bought recently at an auction didn’t turn out to be that exciting. This Swarthmore tile sold for $18. I found a Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania that has a “Peace Collection” in their library. I assume that is what it was from. Unless I made a mistake, I assume someone had a search out and collects things from that college.

Swarthmore is also a town in PA (where the college is located) & a google search indicates that Noble Clay started there before they moved to Maine. So it could be for either the town or the college. Swarthmore College was originally founded by Quakers so the peace theme fits with that. Nice tile!

@junque-redux – Thanks for the research! I did see that there was a town in PA called Swarthmore, but I did not get the Noble Clay connection.

@Sharon I love to find vintage tiles. They can do really well as you say.
Sold this pair of vintage bookends for $265. I had to pay up at a local chain thrift at close to $70. I think that’s the most I’ve ever paid for a used item. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334941296667
