I listed 22 items and only have photos left for a few more. Was hoping for better but have some life chaos going on.
Amatino – better some than none. Nice reno. We just had a pipe break and might be doing the last bathroom (kids’). Not the timing I would have chosen but oh well.

Number of items listed this week: 22Terrible week for sales on Ebay. I was happy to get some stuff listed and I have more items cleaned and drafts done, so just need photos. This week will be tough to make time for listing with my daughter home and some other appointments and chaos.
Attended the college clean out sale and got a huge bag of clean bubble wrap and a handful of saleable items, a year’s worth of tin foil for us, and lots of other random practical goodies for $40. Super fun every year and I love to look for the overlooked value. I was looking for perfume and new in package bedding but could not find that. It definitely smelled of volunteers being able to pre-shop, but nevertheless, totally fun.
I don’t have immediate payment on because in all of my listings I ask buyers to look at my store and load up their cart for combined shipping. Since most of them rarely do purchase multiple items, I think I might change this moving forward. On a podcast I heard someone else say playing devil’s advocate that Ebay might want to encourage buyers to make offers to multiple sellers, since they have to wait potentially 24 hours for an answer or counter.
Have a great week everyone.
I saw just the opening of a reseller “meet up” podcast discussing this. One also said her sales died after dropping promoted. She has been doing 3% across the board. Another had been doing flat 10% but recently switched to recommended rate or higher if the recommended is 2-3%, capped at 11%. She pointed out that she gets her items so cheap (1/10 the sale price) she is able to comfortably do that higher rate and wants chance at more sales. I don’t generally get my items super cheap plus I have on best offer and run small sales, so I would never do recommended rate for the reasons stated above. A third seller waits 3 weeks and then promotes the item.
I had been doing 2% to attempt to be above all of the 1%ers, so I just upped everything to 3%.
@debitendcredits – I’m having trouble with my internet but the sales box is located on my desktop listing page right under the “payment options – payments managed by Ebay” and the box for requiring immediate payment BIN.
11 items for me. This week I have more time free.
Thanks I’d love to someday.

Number of items listed this week: 11Congrats on your great week. It felt like a pretty good week for me. I look forward to doing more listing this coming week since I will have more free time. The coffee shop menu looks awesome. The prices are much lower than here so they seem very reasonable. I bet the people in your town are loving having a great place to go get quality food and hang out.

Cute kitty up there. We have parakeets and a dog so no cats right now. We go to the cat therapy place to visit.
Wow Amatino you got fancy on me with this challenge thread! Currently, I’m still in transition from the big garage sale purge. I need to put back together our closets and clean up the garage. But I will make it a goal to make the goal sheets. 🙂 I will have more time to myself next week to get to that anyway. First goal is to list any new purchases promptly and so far I’m doing well with that. I just have the Royal Albert tea cups to clean and list. I went all in on almost a complete set so want to get those listed quickly.
@Retro wow I love selling nip vtg sheets but that’s higher than I expected. I also look for Ralph Lauren but even the 1950s-1960s florals do well for me. Great sale!
I only had 6 listings last week and hope for better this week. My daughter is off school and booked solid next week so I hope to ramp up then if I can’t this week.
@Retro I was looking for someone like you to buy all of our CDs. One picker bought a few of my husband’s 80s metal CDs. I scanned them all and none were worth $10. I did find a couple of rare cassettes and listed those. I am in awe of your speediness listing!
I concur! Love it that you guys are still scavenging and willing to connect here with us online.

Number of items listed this week: 6Got the garage sale done and made over $350. It was very busy and I was more tired than I remember being after the last couple so I guess I’m getting older. My husband was taken aback by the pacing crowd at the start and ran for the hills but my dad helped me and enjoyed chatting with everyone. I told my husband “those are my people” lol. Still lots left over but we take itemized deductions, so I documented all that. Problem is that I go drop off and find a big set of Royal Albert flower of the month tea cups and plates and decided to go in on that. Oops. My daughter is off this week so it’s an easy thing for her to take photos of.
Ebay continues to be slow but listing wasn’t my focus this week. I now have some clean up to do in the garage and one more load to take to the thrift store. I also have 3 bins of clothing to sell on Mercari.
On another note, a clean out / moving company that is well run opened a consignment store in a portion of the defunct Sears mall location near my house. I finally remembered to go in there and check it out. Most of the stuff was pretty large and fussy but I would have bought a few things (art, P Barn throw pillows) at a better price. They had put that the price reduces on certain dates over time and even after the last date it was a little pricey – definitely for resale. They have a space for live music and will be doing auctions. Should be interesting to see how they do. I’m used to better prices but they did have some really cool art in there and I don’t think people are shopping it to heavily. They did not have a lot of smalls, which made me wonder where that stuff went – booth people might be in on the food chain. Also had some designer clothing selling for $75. A reminder that there is some serious money in this town. However, I like what the run of the mill ’50-’60s ranch houses produce.
06/03/2022 at 4:56 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Cocktail glasses, Un candle, Turntable, Record box #96557@Sharon thanks! I’m happy to report that most of my death pile purchases are worth keeping and selling but there are some regrets shown in there – lots of coffee mugs from like 4 years ago. Some of it is my parents’ house stuff that I don’t want to sell on Ebay. Not going to get rich but happy to get stuff out of here.
