Another vote for the Odyssey. This is my dirty 2010. My future death pile free self will enjoy taking it to estate sales.

I really want to find some Bitossi. If I get out from under my death piles I hope to find some at estate sales. Saw the real deal in Palm Springs. So awesome. That is a cool vase btw. Looks like West Elms style.

Interesting report. I heard online that milk glass is cyclical and is cooled right now. If you can manage take some photos next time. I was thinking of starting a topic for photos of displays. We have an awesome local sort of antique mall but very upscale. They have a a lot of rustic and nautical items with great styling.
I have a similar issue – going to unload some of our better brand clothes from home, and I want to do it before the free returns requirement. Personally, I don’t think consignment or my items should count. Maybe I’ll switch on and off with the clothes and death piles. Not much shopping lately…
04/17/2018 at 11:43 am in reply to: New Tax law and it's effects on your business (Politics free please!) #37853It seems to me that the states will find a more reliable way to get their sales taxes, but it will have to be done in a comprehensive manner that does not result in impossible bookkeeping for sellers. Really it makes more sense for the platform to collect and disburse. We are definitely not there yet.
04/17/2018 at 11:31 am in reply to: New Tax law and it's effects on your business (Politics free please!) #37851You’re welcome. State challenges look dismal but we can’t really afford the path we are on. Tax law is never as permanent as it seems.

04/16/2018 at 4:09 pm in reply to: New Tax law and it's effects on your business (Politics free please!) #37802Finally did our estimated taxes and the software allows you to make adjustments under the new tax law. Looks like we will take a hit, but it’s not as bad as I feared at first. We’ll be paying an estimated $4k in additional federal taxes. We will now pay federal taxes on all of the money we pay to the State of California in taxes. It would have been much more but the child tax credit is higher and luckily for us, the phase out is way more generous. Retro here you go with a real world example of someone losing under the new law. I hear the regime is going to try to go back for another bite at the apple (capital gains rate + permanency). I’m sweating already…

So so week for me even with company and kid events. I listed 14 items, 11 from death piles. Listed three times, but one was a single listing before I got interrupted.

Still need to listen to the interview and looking forward to hearing from you J&R. Retail seems to be heading toward a hybrid of ecommerce and smaller presence brick and mortar. It totally makes sense that smaller retail shops with unique items would be supported in progressive cities. Kudos to these youngins. Have a great week.

Yes, I sent a Facebook message with photos to Jason Smith @ the Thrifting Board. He answered me immediately and we had a quick chat about how it was Shag-inspired / i.e. a rip off of Shag. He’s a great resource for Tiki and invites you to share finds or potential buys (in case it’s something he wants).

Finally, regarding $10 items. Paid basically pennies for this at a church rummage, totally doubted myself when listing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/232663715993 Sold pretty quickly with this feedback: “Very unique napkin rings. I appreciate something unusual. A++++++++” Gotta stay with the gut I guess. Have a great rest of the week.
