Anastasia: I am same as you with flates. For First Class, I just throw in 12 oz mostly and then adjust it when I ship. For Padded Flat I do 2 lbs, then adjust it when it’s ship time.
Ebay told me on GSP it doesn’t matter what WE put in there b/c they have already figured the range of weights for most items. Who knows if this is correct, but it would make sense. I learned this when I put in 2 lbs for boots that were 4 lbs for a GSP order. I called and they said ” we don’t care, its fine.” Hmmmmm
Thanks all! I have gotta get my buns in gear as they are xmas dishes!
Christine – do you use a thin foam or thick in b/w each plate? I have used crinkle boards before, but I like foam better. So, if you were to do it all over again would you have moved it/ drove it yourself to the buyer for the $1800 cost? Do some picking on the way back in the truck and call it a win?
Re: Storage, I have thought about my ideal off-site set up lately as I am reaching 1,000 items and brainstorming the future at some point.
My dream needs (outside of storage of course) would to also have an office space (fast wifi), photo area, close to my house, packing station, “prep area” with high counters, washer dryer, and huge dumpster available to me in some way! What other goodies would be nice in your dream space for functionality and peace?
Mike at MDC: No, I am in Missouri! However, I wonder if this trend of houses aka showrooms and aka on occasion a sales floor will continue. Speaking of Atlanta and houses – Designing Women ladies worked out of their home. Where was the storage? 🙂 Hmmm. Love that show!

Thanks for bringing me back to sanity everyone! I am only dealing w/ dinner and salad plates.
Do you think buyers want a dinner plate AND the matching salad plate in a listing or should I list separately?
Re: Estate sales being in “houses.” I 100% have noticed this. Went to a “interior designer” estate sale this summer. It was a HOUSE turned showroom – nobody lived there it was clear.
Another one was a massive “collectibles” house – merchandised like you wouldn’t believe. Clearly a retail space in a cul de sac suburban home. Weird!
I have been to some estate sales in dying strip malls – pop-up sales style. I like these – but prices tend to be higher.Re: online auctions – even you don’t want to scavenge for inventory, they always have great shelving/racks/tables etc. I got a great rolling retail table with folding ends, cubbies, etc from a liquidator for $30. Wee!
Re: Auction talk. Love it! Also, I kind of want to run an auction concession business. I can do way better coffee and treats and lunches. I’m sure it’s not super lucrative, but seems like a fun adventure. 🙂
I am determined to learn Christmas collectible and desired holiday items. Been spending lots of time scrolling solds/watching youtubes/blogs. I will win Christmas this year!
I sold two champagne buckets within 20 min of each other this week – at first, I thought it was same buyer! Nope. Just Cassini being Cassini.Week of 10/7-10/14
Store: 950, 300 posh (cross posted from ebay, same inventory)
Sold: 29 ebay, 3 Poshmark
Sales: $1070, $150 Posh after fees = $1220
COGS for both: $120
A Very happy week in my world.
Highest sale: Swedish wooden decorative box – loved this piece. $125Love all the book end listings. Those rams and Chief are amazing finds.
I just finished listing some Victorian paper ephemera items. I know it’s a solid sales item, but I do not enjoy listing that stuff! I did lots of a grouping.I think most ppl know they are buying an “idea” or concept along w/ the item – a chance for a spooky encounter. Now, if they want a return – that’s another story
Yes, the ‘not for sale” feature is fantastic. Much easier than the re-listing all over again.
Rumor from Posh Fest is that drafts feature are coming which is great.
I have re-started doing Community Shares again (maybe 20 per day during TV commercials). It does seem to help pick up some steam on my sales.
Because the Posh search defaults to “recently shared” , sharing your closet daily does help.
You don’t have to offer a bundle discount on 1 item – sometimes ppl start a bundle and never finish or don’t see anything else they want.
If they are really interested, they make an offer.
I rarely use Offer to Likers!I think It’s a similar customer, honestly. Although Posh buyers skew female and younger, many buyers are also sellers so I find it pretty decent. The only issues I have had are basic INAD’s which mean nothing b/c I got my money and they didn’t open a case – both on SWEATERS condition.
The fact you can’t direct message your buyer / seller keeps thins in check in my opinion.Congrats! It is amazing how much more you can list/do when you do not have a day job so to speak. It’s easier to source for one thing rather than cramming it in in odd hours/lunch/after work/weekends.
T-Statt: Congrats!
Happy you got a big win!Has anyone had issues with items being rejected before? Never. As long as you have the condition listed, good pics, you are fune.
–If they reject, do WE have to pay for the return shipping? Poshmark pays return shipping I believe.
Set up your Bank routing now as it can take a few days if you have not already.
IN 3 days they release funds OR when buyer clicks ACCEPT. So, you could get funds day 1 if they click accept. It’s about 50/50 for me.10/09/2018 at 7:00 pm in reply to: (Almost) Quarterly Ebay Sales Report from a bloody beginner #49894European beauty products are always of demand to American women – esp skincare. Find the niches, check solds.
I would have to agree with the other ebay folks who say a USA buyer won’t care so much if you are “official” dealer as long as the product is legit. I recognize in Germany the provenance of and rules, but I think you would be just fine in this arena frankly. -
