LOL! Antique Frog, you are such a hoot! 😀
12/26/2018 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #54023Vintage Lacy, so sorry about your dad. I hope he’s doing better since the surgery. I will update the numbers when I get home. I’m going to Oxford tomorrow, only one afternoon, a night, and a morning could be squeezed into the schedule, to my dismay, and I have to include visiting a family member while I’m there, but I will do my best and give you a report back!
No listings for me, obviously, but my awesome husband is shipping for me, so I didn’t have to put the store on holiday mode or delayed shipping! Woot woot! I have the best man in the world. 🙂
This is the last week for this challenge, final numbers to be posted on Monday 31st. I’ll kick off the new 2019 TELC (Listing Challenge) on that day for folks to start racking up numbers. I will also start the new Death Pile Support Group thread. I probably won’t get to log in again until next Monday, so I hope you’re all well until then. I missed sending you Christmas wishes, so I will just wish you all happy holidays and a wonderful New Year!

Congratulations everyone! Please continue to post your numbers for the next two weeks. I shall be monitoring remotely but won’t be able to update the spreadsheet until I get back in January.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I’m zero this week. I started working on listings, but then realized that I was just so short of time to get everything done before I leave that I should better spend my time paying bills, clearing desk and space, sorting out stuff that needs to be done while I’m away, etc. So I did. I leave tomorrow, so I’m going to be zero for the rest of the year. Will still check in remotely though!
12/12/2018 at 10:45 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #53182Ok, Vintage Lacy is in at zero. I’ll update next week if you let me know what your listings were.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the idiot’s house.Knock knock.
Who’s there?
The chicken, idiot!Patient: “I keep having a dream that I’m a tailpipe. What does it mean?”
Doctor: “You’re exhausted!”“My wife thinks I’m too nosy.”
“How do you know?”
“She wrote it in her diary?”“My dad isn’t too impressed with his new stair lift. He says it drives him up the wall!”
😀 😀
Dude: “Remember that guy that stole your diary? He died!”
Gal: “That’s too bad. My thoughts are with his family.”Rob: “Are you still lifting balloons to exercise?”
Bob: “Nah, I quit. It wasn’t working out.”Q: “What did the janitor say when he jumped out of the closet?”
A: “Supplies!”😀

Listed 9, so I hit my goal +1 and I’m happy. Just as long as I’m listing my minimum of 2 per day, I’m not going to put myself under any more stress. That being said, I have only 4 days left to do anything before I depart for the UK, so I may be all zeroes for the rest of the year. I’ll see what I can do this week, but next week Monday will be the last one I can participate in. You guys can see out the year, though. I’ll still log on and update remotely.
Vintage Treasures – what a great way to spend a week! Glad you got to visit with family.
aperture – from where? How the heck did you find a ticket for only $160? Way to go!
I’m also on a Travel Quest. One State per year until I’ve done all of them, one country every five years. I’m learning Mandarin ATM as that’s the first one in my plans. 😉
Oh my FATES! I can spend a week just looking through that thread! Equal parts, horror, amusement, and interest!
Look at the invoice (print a packing slip!) and see if it says 1 or 5. The packing slip is what the buyer is going to get.
It will also depend on how the shirt/s were listed in the auction format. I know you can’t put variables into an auction. So the auction may have defaulted to Qty 1. Have a look at your original listing. Or post a link to it here for us to look at.
Oooh, WisePrey, I love that clock! But then… I love clocks! 🙂 I have one in every room in the house, and there are three in the main living area. LOL
You need to identify the clock movement. The face of the clock has no identifying features, but sometimes the value of a clock is hidden in the movement (the mechanism that makes it go.) As your faceplate just says “China” it’s possible that the value is going to be low-ish, but you can crush up a bag of peppermint candy canes, put it in a $1 jar from the Dollar Store, make it look fancy, and then gift it as “Fairy Dust to make All Your Cakes Look Magical”, so why can’t you take a good looking clock and make $30 plus shipping? *wink* In fact, as it’s wood and heavy, I’d price at $
The number one thing to know when identifying your movement are the numbers off the back plate. Getting these numbers can be annoying since your clock movement is probably in a case. We suggest using a little compact mirror to view your back plate or simply putting a camera phone on flash and taking a photo will work too.
From this website.
For horology in general, here is a great reference website and here’s one with visuals on older timepieces.
Doing a quick Worthpoint search for pendulum wall clocks without a brand name, I found this one that sold for $42 and this one that went for $38.72.
Put it up for $50 with BO and see what happens. Add “heavy”, “well made”, and “with key” to your listing. Also test to see if it chimes. I’d put it on eBay for sure!
