Hey guys, here’s my What Sold for all of August. I guess I won’t be making one for September because I only sold 3 items. I’m not sure what happened in September but selling that few of items is very strange for my store, especially when I did list stuff. Hoping for a better October.
09/17/2017 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 327: Dealing With Stress Traveling, In Life and On eBay #22908Thank you for mentioning the link rule! I just got one today where I linked to a wiki article in case someone wanted to see the bands at this certain festival that the shirt was from. I just copied and pasted it. It took me a few minutes to understand what the hell they were talking about, but I eventually figured that the wiki article with links was causing it. I fixed it as well as possible but it’s still throwing up errors, so we’ll see.
I guess I’m kind of an obsessive person because I attend constantly. I have to see how many views and watchers each thing has basically all through the day or when I’m bored. Kind of wish I could get away from this habit because I get mad when I see 6 or 7 watchers on something and no one is buying. Especially when it only $12 like this cassette tape I have.
I’m at a point where I can no longer thrift or go to garage sales for quite a while. I think I’ve said in the past that I don’t have a lot of room. Literally one small closet in a one bedroom apartment and I’m at max capacity. I still have plenty to list and may get close to two hundred items eventually.
I’m finding that every time I list the newest items are the one to sell. Maybe I’m just learning how to price so that they sell quickly and I was asking too much for stuff in the past for it to sell within a quicker time frame. I’m going to try to get a two bedroom rental next year after I’m married but we’ll see.
Just adding my opinion about restocking fees, I think they are pretty dumb and I totally see why Ebay wants to get rid of them. I would personally be unhappy if I had to pay a restocking fee for something that I was unhappy with. I’m happy to take returns from my customers, even though I’ve never had one. I’ve just given partial refunds if that’s what made them happy.
08/03/2017 at 7:02 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Edison horn, 48 star flag, Nintendo box, Cowboy kettle, Models & Trains, Schott fringe jacket #21322My sales vid for July. Hope everyone enjoys! I only had 12 sales all month, it was pretty slow for me honestly. I’m trying to get my inventory up, I’m actually at over 100 items now, lol.
Nice sales Steve, as a person who likes to sell millennial stuff, I really liked the N64 box.
07/22/2017 at 3:14 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Hats, Briefcase, Glass mugs, Fender amp, Jansport, Hood emblem #20632Here’s my sold video from June! Someone was saying they had audio issues with it, but I hear it fine on my end. Hopefully it’s ok aside from the background hiss. https://youtu.be/jo9Vpyo5L6I
07/17/2017 at 8:35 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 319: Being Adults, Making Decisions #20422I’ve only sold one pair of Toms, and they were heels. I’ll have to take more risks on getting more distressed ones. Really wish there were pics of some of the things you guys thought were interesting. That shirt sounds like fun.
I tried to make a what sold vid and the sound didn’t capture so I’ll have to redo it. I sold some really cool stuff in June but even though I’ve been listing, sales have been deadly slow this month. I finally have over 100 listings with more in back stock. I kind of oversourced this summer making it to where I have too much stuff with too little sales. I just keep thinking it’s going to be good for Q4.
I sold some vintage Indiana Jones comic books for $15: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raiders-Of-The-Lost-Ark-Indiana-Jones-Marvel-Comics-1-3-Pack-Sealed-Bag-1981-/332286972187?rd=1

06/26/2017 at 9:50 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 316: Craigslist Road Trips- We Live For A Deal #19786I’m currently listening, but just wanted to share something random. I stopped by Walgreens this morning and they just happened to have smart phone tripods near the counter on clearance for $6. I have been needing one for so long and just haven’t bit the bullet on it. I think it’ll make things a little easier, especially when needing both hands. I use an iphone 5s. Do you guys use a phone tripod as well?
06/11/2017 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 314: Selling on eBay while in the Military #19289Do you know if you can sell Cuba stuff on Ebay? Me and my fiance are considering places to go for our Honeymoon. I was hoping to cruise to Cuba and possibly looking for stuff to scavenge. But I think I saw you that you can’t sell Cuban stuff.
06/11/2017 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 314: Selling on eBay while in the Military #19287Just a thought on listening to the podcast, I LOVE retro video games because they are just so easy to sell, especially Nintendo items. And many of them sell for good money. I really don’t see this going away soon like a fad. I just wish they were easier to find out in the wild! I was 5 minutes late to a garage sale selling games and there were already some guys there getting to it.
06/10/2017 at 3:23 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Prince & Wendy picks, Engineer boots, Coleman Cooler, Video switcher, Jeanie Rub massager #19230Here’s my three month sales report! It’s a longer one because I haven’t been keeping up every month so I stuck March through May together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLFc1pPGIuc
05/27/2017 at 4:21 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Motorcycle wheel, Matchabelli cologne, Pendleton shirt, Radios, Vintage fan, Airplane kit #18666You’re killin’ me, omfug. I’m 34 and LOVE going to rock concerts, I’m glad I don’t think I’m too old. I went to see The Pixies this month and most of those people were older than me! I did Riot Fest last year as well and got to see The Misfits reunited, along with Jane’s Addiction, Ween, and others.
I was VERY sad about Chris Cornell. I still have an unopened Alternative Press magazine that was sent to me in 99 with Chris on the cover of it (I ended up with two copies at the time), and I’m too nostalgic to sell it.

02/16/2017 at 3:09 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 297: Being Frugal vs Running A Business #12679So a week after hearing about you guys losing an item, I lost my first item ever. I wrote the person asking them what they would like to do and they never got back to me. Thankfully it was something that could be ordered off Amazon and sent to the customer. So I just did that. I’m hoping for the best since I haven’t gotten a tracking number yet from Amazon. I’m going to do an inventory check tomorrow to make sure there aren’t any more issues like this. It made me really upset and confused because I swear I’ve seen the item semi recently. I only have half a closet to store inventory in so where could it have gone? I guess if it ever turns up I’ll relist it but it took a while to even sell. So disappointing.
