since you shipped to the address on file, ebay will back you up when you ask them to pay you to re-ship. Just tell the buyer to send the amount to you via paypal. There’s no way for them to pay for this via ebay (that I know of). If it were me, I’d print the second label via ebay. I also wouldn’t call ebay unless the buyer opens a case or something like that.
04/03/2018 at 1:55 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 354: The Long Game – 10 Years On eBay #36967reposting with corrected #items in store and sell thru rate (don’t want to risk losing my post via “edit”)
March turned out to be my best month ever, in terms of profit, ASP, sell-through rate. My goal was to make over $1000 in profit before taxes, and in the end I made $2200!! All my efforts to get higher value items into my store over the past year or so paid off big time.
A typical week for me in March (computed from my monthly #s):
Total Items in Store: 370
Items Sold: 14 (4% sell through rate)
Cost of Items Sold: $157
Total Sales: $826
Highest Price Sold: Versace dress $250
Average Price Sold: $59
Returns: 0
Money Spent on New Inventory: $147 for 26 items

Got 50 of those.
Hope to stock up on 16x12x8 next quarter.Yes, it says its for compliance with some laws. All the used bedding SA sells has these tags. I’ve always taken them off the sheets I’ve bought.
AdventureE’s comments and suggestion make sense. I am going to take it off.
In my experience, the only way to successfully fight an INAD return is to first accept the return, and then escalate once you’ve received the item back. Yes, that’s ridiculous in this case of the empty box, but it seems to be the way ebay works. But I’ve never had an international return, so I don’t know how return shipping gets handled.
This is probably not what you’re looking for, but I’ve been selling old shoes for 2 years now and have never even thought about the potential issue of foot fungus.
🙂
Vintage Treasures, 12 sales in a week in a store of 135 items is an EXCELLENT sell-thru rate of almost 9%! Very few people on here have sell-through rates that high.
I think Kenny’s original point bears repeating:
“auctions are a tool in your tool bag, and there are circumstances where you should use them.”He did not say that you should use them for every item every time.
Kenny, thanks for persisting in making your point and thus educating me about one more way to approach listing with a risk-free way of making sure I’m not missing out on a huge return. I am currently using it very successfully with some vintage rare (ie, not much info gleaned from researching) embroidery kits.
Heather who is “The Paper Castle” on youtube uses this technique quite a bit, and it seems to be working well for her.
I just tried it with a higher end needlepoint kit – the auction ends in a few days. Already have a bid for the opening price (which I would be very happy with), but hoping for a bidding war. Either way, there’s nothing to lose with this approach, and the chance to gain.
Funny timing that Suzanne Wells just posted a video about selling junk drawer lots.
I have not watched it.
In what category did you list it?
thanks for the tip!
I may have to try those.Mike,
Thanks for sharing your perspective and example details. Makes a LOT of sense. Now to get the plates listed!
