06/25/2018 at 8:58 pm in reply to: When I click on an item it takes me to a totally different listing… #43529
This was covered in a recent post but I can’t find it.
It seems to be happening when you click on an item that has sold, so the site seems to be trying to find an unsold item for you. At the very top of the page, there’s a message that says something like “The listing you are looking for has been sold / no longer exists.” the word “listing” is actually a link to the item you wanted to see.love it!
06/25/2018 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Listing as auction trying to charge me 15 cent insertion fee…Grrr #43519Glad you figured it out. I had a similar situation a while back, and it took me a while to realize that adding the “buy it now” option cost extra.
T-Satt,
That’s exactly what I first told them to do. But when they do that (and I also tried it myself), the “request total from seller” button is de-activated.How is it that you’re able to get this to work?
northernpinesgallery,
I have a pretty small store (420 items), so yesterday I spent an hour or so restoring the photos myself, since I had all the photos on my laptop. I think it was about 20 items. I really feel for those who have large stores 🙁well, they can’t promise to call you back if the incoming load of phone calls is growing quickly, and the number of support folks is fixed. Otherwise they would have to say “click here for a call back within 7-10 days”.
I tend to have pretty good (or even very good) sales when most people on the forum are reporting a significant slowdown. This June is no exception. June was a really good month for me last year as well. May, not so good.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So I guess we each see the beauty of our own OCD variation.
I don’t chase people down. Ebay’s unpaid item assistant does that for me. I don’t think about it at all. So the item is not for sale for a few days, no big deal. (I also give zero thought and effort to neutral feedback).
But yeah, having to turn off “require immediate payment” is just stupid. I think we can agree that the combined shipping feature on ebay does not work well. But ebay has their engineers working on more important things like free returns, so they are too busy to fix it. lol
Talk about bonehead – that’s me! About a month or two ago I purchased a vintage 80s rainbow tote bag, but delayed listing it for some reason. So I’m listing it today, which happens to be the day of the huge NYC pride parade!!! D’oh! A little late, maybe????
Can you send one offer that covers multiple items?
Huh. Interesting. I miss my front loader! When I moved, the new house came with a top loader that is frequently unbalanced during the spin cycle, so I’m constantly having to run down to the basement to re-arrange the wet clothes/towels. Such a pain. But I don’t have sports-playing boys, so not too many stains and smells in my hamper.
Yes, RetroWV, the forfeiting of vacation time is one of the craziest behaviors I have ever encountered. I mean, if it was just a few people here and there, I could imagine that maybe there’s a good reason, but it’s so many people. I think there’s a statistic out there on how many days of vacation are forfeited each year in the entire US – it’s enormous. And as I always used to say to my colleagues, the more you work crazy long hours and the less vacation you take, the more work you are creating for me! Blank stares.
Congrats!
Thanks for the suggestions!
Some of my favorite fiction:
Tana French – In the Woods (and the continuing series)
Robertson Davies – Deptford Trilogy
The family markowitz (stories) – Allegra goodman
We were the Mulvaneys – J C Oates
any book by Wally Lamb
Julie B – I have a similar situation. If I have to repeat the sentence “Yes, that is a very nice piece of clothing and but it simply doesn’t sell for very much on ebay so I’m not buying it” one more time, I’m going to scream.
