Thanks Mike.. that helps a lot.
The shipping delivery date was out there. It may have been July 8. however with standard shipping, many times there are big windows for the estimated time.. 2 to 6 business days etc.
They state in the listing, that they ship the next day. Technically, I suppose that I cannot make a formal complaint for late shipping, if it arrives before July 8. They did produce a tracking number on the next business day.
It takes a lot for me to give a negative feedback. If it arrives late, I think the worst I’ll give is a neutral. Regardless of the feedback I give, it will just make me hesitant to buy these types of items on Ebay in the future.
Thanks for the input.
I totally agree on gambling for a very cheap item. There’s always a risk.
It’s just so disappointing when a best match is a sponsored item, from a large seller with 97% feedback who manipulates item location.
My most recent item was purchased on 6/29 with a tracking number entered 07/01 and so far no tracking updates.
Ebay is performing a disservice to the platform, by chasing these short term profits in exchange for consumer confidence.

I haven’t had much luck, using the search function Mike, even when looking for posts that I know exist.
Is there a way to just search titles, otherwise, I seem to get each and every post that the search term shows up in.
Thanks
8 X 6 X 4 inch Ebay Box.. It works for most trucker hats.
First I put the hat in a clear plastic bag.
It really wouldn’t be that big a deal.. The carnivals and trade shows do it all the time.
Yes shelving would have to be built. Yes you would have to secure the containers with straps or load bars, so the containers wouldn’t shift. It would have to be done with a plan.
You may want need to leave an aisle in the middle for access, but can fill it up with stuff while travelling and empty that section after reaching your destination.
The key to making it a success is to drive correctly. Don’t make any sudden moves, stops, starts or turns and leave plenty of room ahead of you for braking.
If in doubt, ask a trucker. They do it all the time.
In California trailers can be registered with permanent plates which cost $10 every five years ($2 a year). Liability insurance follows the tow vehicle, so no specific insurance coverage is required.
The real cost is only the trailer cost and maintenance.
You could even install shelving and use it as a storage unit when parked.
The government benefits are great… but not enough to put in decades of work if you’re fed up with the job. I hope your job stays fun for a long time.
My advice is save save save your money. That way if you decide you are done, you will have options.
You may want to check out https://mrmoneymustache.com He firmly believes anyone can quit work in about 8 to 10 years. His blogs are filled with unusual life choices that enable you to live on 25% to 50% of your income and save the rest. It’s a rabbit hole of a blog.. but very informative.
Life is about choices.. it’s great that we live in a country that gives us so many.
Good Luck
06/17/2019 at 12:02 am in reply to: Why I closed my Amazon book store (this is mostly a rant) #63547I’m curious as to why you would have to buy the postage outside of Ebay.
What postage are you trying to buy that Ebay won’t allow?
Generally, you can select whatever shipping you want on the shipping page.
Are you talking about UPS or DHL or something like that?
Very true, the Ebay labels are fine for most items.
The Flat Rate Medium box would have worked fine for my purchase.
Once in a while, you just get a smaller heavy item that won’t fit in a flat rate box. I guess, unless you’re selling those items routinely, Ebay labels and the flat Rate options get the job done.
It’s just nice to have one more tool to work with..
Don’t forget to highlight the patches.. maybe do a little research on them.
Vintage Boy Scout stuff generally sells well.
Good Luck.
I’m glad you found your passports… Moving is so much fun.
I just bought an item from a Canadian seller myself. He states right in the listing that he drives the items over the border himself and there are no duties owed, as long as the price is below a threshold.
First USPS tracking showed Niagara Falls. He has a long handling time in place, but I think he’s just being cautious. I’m in Southern California, so it’s a long way regardless. My guess is that it’s in a Flat Rate Priority Box.
I got a great deal.. so even if shipping is extended, it’s worth it to me.
It sounds like things are going well for you..
Congratulations..
She may not be your buyer. I’d be careful about spending too much time trying to accommodate her requests for pictures etc.
It sounds like you made a great score buying items that you are knowledgeable about. You should be rewarded for your efforts at a price that makes sense for you.
I agree on selling some in lots or small groups and then selling the more prized ones by themselves.
Try to get as many listed as possible at the same time. People may want to buy more than one and will be happy with a combined shipping discount.
Good Luck

Look at one of your listings on a a computer. Hit the shipping tab/link. Enter any zip code, but it’s better for a far away one.
After getting the price, go to USPS.com and enter the same zip code and weight with a dimension smaller than 12 X 12 X 12 and see if it’s the same price.

You can always look at you own listings and change the zip code to see what the shipping charges are.
