Thank you Sharyn, yes, it would be too heavy and big and the cost would be about double or more to ship to NJ for example. It’s heavy and will require additional packing to secure.
But if a person WANTS it faster, then what? They would have to write to me to change the shipping option to priority because they can’t see it right now.
My thoughts: Amazon has all the shipping options right upfront and you can choose the one that is best for you. My opinion is that Ebay should be the same. Ebay is choosing for the buyer the “best” option but it might be what the buyer needs or wants.

Ebay is trying this new thing — so you can’t.05/07/2019 at 8:54 pm in reply to: Shipping options hidden on some items. I asked Ebay and they said… #61457I looked up your listing, Sharyn and I got this: all your options show up for me.
When I put in a NY zip, I got one option only.
Oh Ebay!

Temjudgin, this item is look large and too breakable for a flat rate box. The shipping to someone in California is less than $8.00. I usually get local buyers on larger items because the shipping is so much less for them.
Thank you both for your input. I appreciate it.
Have you checked your own listings to see if this is something that is universal or just random?

I asked Ebay and they said… #61450I am not able to tell on this item (bowl) because of the hidden expedited option –it only shows the parcel select (very heavy bowl) which would be the lower cost option. It also shows parcel select when I put my local zip code.
Here is my bowl: https://www.ebay.com/itm/163680593892?&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId
What does it show for you?

I just listed a heavy bowl. I provided both Expedited and Parcel select options. The only one showing is the parcel select no matter which zip I put in.

I have it for free with my premium store but I cannot figure out how to use it.
Yes, I do believe that Amatino got it right. I looked it up and saw some examples — not exactly like mine, but similar — that makes sense that this is a flush mount ceiling light ring.
Amatino, That is a very good suggestion and could make sense because it has the little screw holes on the inside rim. It weighs about 6 lbs! I just wonder if that would be considered too heavy for something like that.
I googled and so far I see aluminum ones, which would be lighter in weight. I will keep on looking though because that is a very interesting suggestion.
Thank you Sharyn, that is very helpful. There are screw holes on the inside rim of this item, did yours have that too?
I once had a popular school yearbook for sale and a woman wanted it for half the price — she never came right out and said exactly what she wanted. It was just really long emails with a very long story.
The story was that she gave her yearbook away to a friend who lost it all in a fire and it just so happened that she happened to have his actual personal year book. So out of the goodness of her heart she gave it to him. At the time she got the year book she paid about 36.00 for it…
She never came right out and offered that price, she was working to gain my sympathy and befriending me.
Just out of curiosity, to see if I was being played, I looked her up on FB and I did not get the impression that she was poor as the emails were implying.
I stayed polite, I never said I would not sell her the yearbook for that price. I just kept telling her how amazing she was and how kind it was of her to help her friend.
Eventually she just disappeared.
And I sold the year book for the price I wanted not too long after that.
In my humble opinion, trying to make logical sense out of unreasonable offers or weird communication is a complete waste of spiritual energy. Some people are happier when things are complicated. Their lives and mind are a complex labyrinth, full of twists and turns and dead ends that you would never be able to find your way out of.
My personal philosophy is I don’t even waste a second trying to understand irrational communication or wonder why the person cannot see how irrational it is. If a weird message comes my way, I acknowledge the person in a nice way, or answer their request politely, and move on…and count to 100 before I blow the person away with an angry reply.
Just wanted to say once again how great it is to have eBay for Business on Facebook. Sometimes you have to wait for their reply if they are busy, and sometimes you might have to try to reach out again, but it is so much more efficient than calling, for the most part.
In my area it has been small pickings on the Free CL section these days. I got a lot of really amazing stuff last year but lately not so much. I do scavenge on CL for shipping supplies like peanuts and boxes.
As far as mags go, I had really great luck with bicycle riding mags and Lowrider mags but everything else has been SLOW and not profitable at all.
I have tried the FB market place, let go and offer up but so far it is a lot of people trying to make a buck like I am. Of course there are fields like electronics that I know nothing about so I would not know a good deal if it bit me.
