Yes. I usually end about 10 at the same time. I decide if I want to change the price or make any changes, then relist them. eBay doesn’t like “stale” listings that are older than 16 months. I think the listings might be removed if they reach 18 months.
I listed 60 items! Big week for me.
I knew that my parents will be in town this week, so I did as much as I could to get stuff out of the way. Of course, I went to an auction on Friday and now I’ve totally reversed my gain, but that’s this life :).
I liked seeing Vintage Lacy’s set up last year, and hopefully she’ll show us some photos again!

Apparently, one of the early US presidents had that as a nickname. PA has lots of towns with unusual names!

I have a similar one with a Lehigh University logo. I’ve listed it higher because of the logo, but it has been sitting for awhile. It hasn’t found its person yet.
This 1957 rotary phone did not have a modern plug, so I wasn’t able to test it. It also had a few other issues, so I listed it for $30. I paid about $3.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183838360605I initially did not have very much information on this lidded pedestal dish, but a helpful eBayer told me that it was a Tiffin bon-bon dish. I paid about $1 and it sold for $24.60. But, what was really interesting, is that the buyer’s address was in Rough and Ready, CA. No, really, go google it. The town has a population of less than 1000 and a pretty interesting history.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183813922978When I first started selling on eBay, a friend gave me a huge number of tennis balls that his club was going to throw out. He hated that they were going to go to the landfill, but he didn’t have time to list them. It was a nice pipeline for a while. I saw him in the spring, and he gave me more. My first sale was for three listings of 25 each, so 75 total, which came to $26.85.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183924593851During my first year selling on eBay, I bought a Western Australia police jacket. eBay took it down because police uniforms are generally not allowed. I could have relisted it if I proved that it was not current, but I didn’t want to bother. The patches sold last year. The buttons sold for $26 through the GSP to, guess where? Western Australia!

09/12/2019 at 3:27 pm in reply to: FYI: Managed Payments – eBay gave our store a deadline to join 22OCT19 #67729I got it as well with the same wrong title. Sounds like some intern or errant employee pressing the send button before all was ready.
I’m OK with managed payments, but only after GSP is added in.
I assume that your return labels were from the post office. When a buyer never sends the item, I get my money back after about a month. You should receive that money back. If you use FedEx, you don’t pay for it until the label is used.
I don’t do free returns, but I think you pay for the returns no matter what. If you also have free shipping, then you pay for that as well. If you don’t have free shipping, but do have free returns, then you should not have to reimburse for the initial shipping. However, if a buyer uses a INAD to get the initial shipping back, and you feel the reason was false, you can reimburse for everything but the initial shipping. You can’t get the return shipping back (assuming the buyer sent it to you) because of free returns.
That’s how I understand it.
I have a story to tell, but it’s not exactly a scavenger one. I manage a freecycling event in my town that happens twice a year. People come up in cars and drop off stuff they don’t want, and other people park and take what they need. It is strictly for personal use and not for resale, but I could take something for that purpose if anything decent is left over at the end (usually not).
Anyway, last year the 4H down the road was having some kind of bird event (chickens or doves or some kind of bird). A guy got confused and came to our freecycling event and started to unload his car. I wasn’t there when he first drove up, but I walked up, opened a large case, and saw all these birds in it. At that point, we figured out that he was in the wrong place, but he had given away some very nice equipment. I think some of it was wood or metal working equipment. I tried to find some of it for him, but I think he recovered only one or two things.
I’ve found syringes with saline solution, food, makeup, and a few other prohibited items that I had to remove. We use volunteers, so they don’t always look up to see if the items are OK or not.
I also worked on clothing this past week, and I don’t enjoy listing them either. I had my son help with some of the photography. I had him set up and move the clothing while I took photos. It did help a bit.
I do feel good when I get them done and out of the way. I feel that I trudged through something I didn’t want to do, but I did it anyway.
Good luck, VT, on getting that mojo back. I don’t know if you have a friend willing to work with you for a few hours, but it could help.
It could be a print on canvas, and then some strokes from a brush to make it seem like an oil painting. Those are called oilettes.
We also ask for the check ahead of time. Sometimes we put in our order when they ask for our drinks (which is usually water). I don’t know that we would get away with that in Europe, especially France.
Week of Sept 1 – 7
* Total Items in Store: 1437 eBay, 3 Etsy
* Items Sold: 15
* Cost of Items Sold: $13.80 + about $6 Commission
* Total Sales: $300.85
* Highest Price Sold: $36.80 Crystal pepper mill salt shaker set
* Average Price Sold: $20.06
* Returns: 0
* Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $5
* Number of items listed this week: 25Someone else mentioned that this past week was sort of quirky. I had six sales on Wednesday, but zero on Thursday and Friday. Just random and weird.
A good part of this past week was doing stuff with my son before school started, which happened on Thursday. Between free time here and there at the beginning of the week and full days at the end, I listed 25 items.
This week is mostly clear M-W. Thursday, I have some appointments and Friday I have an auction to go to. I’m looking to photograph as much as I can and then list in between.
Personally, I would just sell them on another site. Take them off eBay and sell them elsewhere. When you relist, you might want to remove the brand name from the listing title.
There is a conflict with trademark violation and the first sale doctrine. Where does one end and the other begin? According to the first sale doctrine, you have a right to sell something after it was sold initially by the manufacturer. The company has trademark rights that they want to protect.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-sale_doctrineI really don’t know about new vs used. I think that the company is trolling the internet looking for where their trademark is being used one way or the other. That is why I suggest not having the name in the title. Keep it away from their Google searches.
I’m not a lawyer either, so consider other points of view.
I saw something come up in the eBay for Business user account on Facebook. It provides a bit more detail on one of the announcements in the fall seller update. I found it interesting.
We’ve expanded our “Offers to Buyers” tool! Now, not only can you send an offer to a watcher, but you can also send an offer to someone who has added your item to their cart but it’s been sitting there unpurchased for up to 5 days. And in October, you and that potential buyer will also be able to counter-offer. So many new ways to close that sale – just in time for holiday!

I still get 2 eBay emails Monday morning, one to send offers to watchers and the other to buyers with my items in their cart. I wonder when those emails will stop if this other function is doing the same thing.

09/07/2019 at 1:42 pm in reply to: The Most Comprehensive List of Helpful Items to Remove Stains #67512I have some clothing with stains. Some of them are new with tags, but they have marks from storage. I bought the Carbona stain devils Grass, Dirt, and Makeup from the supermarket. I didn’t know what else to get, and I figure storage dust would kind of fit under that category. Hopefully, it works. Otherwise, I’ll check out this list again (or list with stains or re-donate).
I also will retake photos. Often, all I need is a new main photo. I’ll just delete or cutout anything with the old item. Sometimes I have to take more.
