Someone here called that process predatory. eBay disputed a UPS charge for me once, but I’ve had no help for the others. I sometimes round up an inch or a pound to be sure. I stopped putting fragile stickers on FedEx and UPS boxes. I don’t know if that was a problem, but I haven’t had a cost adjustment recently.
I’ve heard that Pirate Ship will back you up. I’m usually too lazy to break up my boxes between Pirate Ship and eBay.
Strangely, for USPS, the cost adjustments have mostly been in my favor.
I listed four.
I was planning to go to two rummage sales this past weekend, but they were rained out. They were both rescheduled to days when I have plans. I could go to the one on May 18 if I get there early and then go to where I need to be at 11 AM.
There is a rummage sale next Sunday right around the corner from my house, and I’m sure I’ll find more to go to. I haven’t bought anything in a long time.
With my part time job growing in hours, I’m not putting the effort in eBay as much. My sales have suffered, but I know that sales are slow in general. I’m sure everyone is doing much better than me!
Retro – Not sure whether you can completely blame yourself on the low sales. I’m pretty sure that the current political / market turmoil has something to do with people’s spending habits. Of course, you have lots of mouths to feed, but I’ll be interested in if you try out PL again to see what happens. I’m annoyed with them myself. Going forward, I’ll be listing higher priced items, but it’s killing me to pay additional fees on my remaining inventory.
Anyway, talking about low sales …

Number of items listed this week: 13My high sale was actually something that sold in the past and then returned.
I listed 13 items. They were all from a set of dishes, so it was easy to sell similar with minimal research.
VT – Sending good wishes and prayers for your husband, and to you for strength.
I accidentally put this in the wrong post … fixing it now. Really a dunce this week.
So, I had my biggest sale ever (not including MaxSold auctions), but I’m a bit pissed at myself. During the cleaning up of my neighbor’s home (who has long since moved), I found a gold chain necklace. I had weighed and priced it over a year ago and determined what was going to be a reasonable price given the price of gold at the time. Unfortunately, the price of gold has gone up pretty nicely since that time, and I did not check before accepting an offer. Along with the eBay fees, I would have been better to sell directly to a jeweler. Oh well.
I had three other good sales in the $25-$75 range (making for a great week should I chose to accept it).

Number of items listed this week: 7Whoops, put my numbers in the wrong place.
I listed seven items again this past week. I also sold seven items, so I’m staying even.
I might be able to list a bit more than seven this week because I have a set of dishes that I am planning to break up into about 11 listings.
Finally, I can report that I listed 7 items! One item sold within 24 hours.
I still have a smaller, but large enough, pile of things that need to be listed. Either I bought them last year and didn’t list them before I started working on the auction, or I decided not to put them in the auction for some reason. I’ll be busy for a while, but I can scavenge if I’m careful. I don’t have the storage space I used to have.
I had another low week, but I am listing finally. I might have an amazing week coming up should this one sale go through. I’ll talk about next week should it work out. COGS are a bit high because I sold an old iPhone 5c that was mine. Plus, my highest sale was a commission, so my costs are high in general.
Almost done with taxes as well. It’s like weeks/months just to get started, and then it takes a few hours to get it all wrapped up. But, I can never seem to start early. Usually doesn’t matter since We’re always paying Federal.

Number of items listed this week: 7I’ve learned how to make sour dough bread over the past year. I suppose it is much cheaper than buying from the farm market or even supermarket, but I’ve needed to buy some accessories. I didn’t have to, but it makes life easier. If you amortize the cost over a year of bread making, I am saving money. I’m also not sure how much I’m adding to my gas usage plus the flour, but that cost should be minimal. The bread is really tasty though!
Yes, March has been very slow for me; however, I haven’t been listing. For this past week, I was on Time Away from about Tues through Fri, so that was a significant factor for my measly three sales. I will start listing soon, but it won’t be at a significant rate.

Number of items listed this week: 0Zero listings for me. In addition to finishing up the auction, we went on a short trip from Thurs to Sun. I will list something this week, but it might not be much.
Last year, maybe spring, I purchased an ephemera lot in a MaxSold auction for not too much money. In there was a collection from a few cruises in the 1960’s or 70’s. This was a group of menus from a European cruise in 1963 that sold for $34.

Later, the same buyer bought a single menu from the same cruise for $9. I think I separated it because it had a special engraving.

This was also in a MaxSold auction for just a few dollars. It is a horse racing framed photo that sold for $84.

I can go over some of my sales with my own MaxSold auction, but it will have to be another day.
@Craig-Rex – Jay once purchased a big collection of Insane Clown Posse hats and shirts. He and Ryanne have done very well with many of them being over $100 sales. I think you will do well!
Nothing for me, but the auction is over, and I’ll have more time. However, I’ve got lots going on this week, so I will probably post zero next week.
Christine – I took a look at your Instagram, and you really find neat items. I think you’ll do well. Either the stuff I find here in the ‘burbs are too mundane and you live in a neat, small city where style is a bigger deal or you just keep your focus more narrow. Reality is probably a combination of both. Going forward, I’ll need to narrow my focus, so I can certainly learn from you.
VL – I’m glad you are doing well, and I know you love your Brookhaven. Do we get another video this year?
VT – I used to sew as a kid. I can’t remember, but either my mom or I made clothing for a doll once. Sounds like fun, and even better if it keeps your mind off life’s issues. I hope your husband is doing well enough.
