Here is the local place’s facebook page for your entertainment:
https://www.facebook.com/Treasure-Hunt-South-Charleston-WV-246990559546833/There is a place like that here called Treasure Hunt.
It has become the “redneck mecca” of my area. They post videos on their facebook page of the insanity every week. It’s not something I’m inclined to go to.It is a brilliant business plan though!
I sent a message to a very high volume book seller on ebay about a book that appeared to be a price mistake. They responded telling me there was some issue that prevented them from fixing the price on ebay, but I could visit their website to buy the book at the correct price. Then they gave me their website link…in the ebay message! I ended up buying over 30 books direct from their website.
There must be different rules for super high volume sellers.
09/13/2019 at 3:58 pm in reply to: In preparation for Managed payments…best points card for business expenses? #67773I was also looking at the hilton honors card. We like staying at Embassy suites whenever possible when traveling. The breakfast alone there saves me a crap ton of money considering I travel with 3 adults and 5 kids when my MIL comes with us.
With their yearly fee card you get a free night every year. Combine that with the points I earn and the 125k bonus points at signup, I’d get multiple nights the first year and 2-3 nights every year after that.
Yeah…a very quick check on ebay shows that this lady is full of crap.
The average for the Ken Griffey is $140 for a PSA 9 grade and it goes down from there. One 10 (which there is NO way this ladies poorly stored cards will get a 10) sold for $1360 but that is an anomaly.
The McGwire card – $70 if you are lucky.
The Ozzy smith got $491 for a PSA 10. In reality you’d get maybe $10-20 for it.My store must have caught your stores illness.
I’ve only sold 7 items this week so far!!!They’re all low dollar items too. Also, they are ALL shoes. This is the weirdest week on ebay I think I’ve ever had.I have never had a buyer expect a refund on original shipping for a standard return and I’ve never had a single complaint when I don’t refund original shipping.
The only exception where I refund original shipping is when I sold something with “free shipping”. It would not be right to withhold the actual shipping cost.
I have been on 3 day handling time for years now.
We’ve been vacationing in September for about 12 years. We’ve never had an issue until last year. They evacuated before we got there so it was just cancelled. We went to Williamsbirh instead a few weeks later. This year they evacuated after we had been there for a day. It sucks sooo much more to get there and have to turn around and leave.
I’ve stood on the beach and watched a tropical storm and a cat 1 roll in. I was actually looking forward to experiencing this one this year. Yeah it sounds weird but seeing the ocean morph right before my eyes like that…it’s addictive.

New Listings 13My ebay tap got shut off early in the week. Lol.
I had almost $600 in sales through Wednesday, then just a trickle of low dollar sales the rest of the week. Boo!Nothing much else going on here. Still trying to shake the shock of having our vacation cancelled…
It is definitely usefull when buying/listing off-season.
With my recent haul of high end camo hunting gear, I was struggling with pricing. After using terapeak I was able to see that certain items would start selling for full sticker price at certain times throughout fall and winter. So I kept my prices fairly high and will wait.09/08/2019 at 7:29 pm in reply to: Other ways of scavenging that you're impressed and refreshed by!!! #67564I saw a show on netlflix once about people with unorthodox jobs. There were some “worm farmers”, ginseng foragers, “burl” hunters (basically a gnarly knot in a tree), and lastly, mushroom foragers.
The mushroom foraging was BIG business.
That’s the method I use. I try to have a nice mix of large mens shoes, smaller womens tennis shoes, and flats/sandals in each bin that was I can fill in all the nooks & crannies.
each bin may only hold 10-15 pair of shoes but it is still quite space efficient.
Yes, you can absolutely settle up whenever you want with a payment. Then your invoice will be zero or very little.
I wish they would handle this like amazon. Amazon “settles up” with every disbursement to your checking account, so the money that comes in is pure profit aside from COGS.
I always keep an eye on my running fees total to know what I need to keep a balance of in paypal to pay fees, but this is definitely going to complicate things.
Godaddy bookeeping will likely become my solution. Honestly I only open godaddy a few times a year. Once I’m in managed payments it will be more like a daily visit to the app.
I plan on ditching my paypal debit card and getting a business credit card to pair with my business checking account. Pay for all expenses on credit card and pay off once a month. Godaddy will keep a running tab on the difference between checking balance and credit card balance and then I’ll just have to add in the ebay invoice.

New Listings 0So….I didn’t plan on being here reporting my numbers this week. We got to the beach on Saturday and on Sunday evening we were informed we had to evacuate by noon Monday. Major freaking buzzkill. I did get my money back at least…
Anyways, Summer goal final report:
My total summer goal was $11375 in sales and I ended at $10385.90 for a shortfall of $989.10. Not bad! I set a lofty goal of more than double the average business I was doing and I feel pretty damn good about that. I had my first “natural” $1000 week – which is when I don’t have a monster sale that skews my numbers. Just bread n butter items with the occasional $100 item. I didn’t just have one of them, I had 3 of them this summer!Yesterday my wife and I were discussing what goal we want to meet for September thru the end of the year. We settled on $4000 a month in sales. There are 17 weeks from 9/1 through the end of the year so I have to average $941 a week in sales. Challenge accepted & spreadsheet created!
In other news, this week the Under Armour Camo stuff started selling. I’ve already sold 4 of the zipper sweatshirts for $65 a pop. So glad I went all in on that lot!
