I agree with Jay about staying to the end. Often at the auction I go to frequently, more than half of the participants leave after the 1st couple of hours then the deals begin. Some people are only coming for certain items and then they leave.
Also if you can store furniture and sell it you can get some outstanding buys most go for very little.
I’m guilty often of not previewing and sometimes have gotten things that were broken scratched etc because I did not check it out before hand. I always do the preview on line and if time allows go to physically inspect.
Also if you don’t plan to stay you can ask one of the runners to put up an item early. They are happy to do it so you don’t have to wait if you have seen everything you want.
If an item is not getting interest wave you hand to inform the auctioneer that you want to buy it for half what he is offering. Depending on the item they will do that.Yes Priority was $35 parcel half that.
“The package information provided won’t be printed on your shipping label. Learn More. When you click Pay and Print, the total label cost will be charged to your PayPal account and you will be able to print your shipping label. You also may incur an additional charge due based on your parcel’s size, weight, and service when measured and accepted by the shipping carrier.”
This message came up when I clicked continue on the shipping info for eBay..
Is that because it’s parcel select? I’ve never seen this message before…Yea I really got that wrong.
I found a smaller box that is long and narrower and see if that may make the cut… I have to add some extra cardboard on top but it’s secure and already wrapped in bubble.
11 x 15 x 22
If I send it parcel it comes down to $17.35 Before parcel select did not come up on the list. When I look at the shipping on the site, I chose standard shipping which may have been parcel select?
and the date says it should arrive on or before feb 15 so parcel select is
2-9 days.
I’m going to ship it that way and take the hit if its a day or 2 late.Hopefully it will work….Phew ….
My auction that I go to does that a lot as well . I’ve gotten some amazing items that way. Theres always a few gems in each one.
I am now going through my ‘junk’ stuff and am going to create some listings for ‘junk drawer’. Seems to be popular on eBay so the random individual stuff I can’t sell I will put all together and see what happens,. Got to get creative..
Last year I went through my old jewelry a lot of single earrings beaded stuff broken necklaces etc.
I put it all together as a
craft jewelry repair single earrings etc lot and did quite well…-

yes you should look at it but I think you also opt out of a few other things I’m not sure if it matters or not.
You also opt out of
Emails
End of auction / sale notices sent to bidders who missed out on similar items
Watched items emails and watched item alerts on My eBayYou have to go to account settings marketing tools Item Promotions
I get what your saying but sometimes I think it will be detrimental. Not for high end specialty items but smaller every day items..
For example I recently bought some really cool cheese knives. (moroccan print)
One seller had them at $15.99 + shipping. On the ‘promoted listings” I saw another seller had it for $9.95 Free shipping same item and this was new. I bought the $9.99. I had not seen them before during my regular search for the knives. So as a buyer it was great if I was the seller they lost out….Jay
I just found this page under Account Settings: Marketing Tools Promote your items on other pages But you have to opt out of other things as well as the ‘promoted’ listings. I don’t like it.
Get your items in front of more eBay buyers and drive more sales by choosing from these additional promotional options.
Yes, promote my items in these places :
EmailsEnd of auction / sale notices sent to bidders who missed out on similar items
Watched items emails and watched item alerts on My eBay
Auction and fixed price item pages
Closed item pages displayed to bidders who placed bids, but didn’t win similar items
Closed item pages displayed to other customers
Open item pages across all formats
By choosing this option:
Your items will be shown on pages and emails that are seen by thousands of interested buyers
Similar items from other sellers will also be displayed with your other items on your pages
If you click no:
No, do not promote my items on pages and emails related to other items.
By declining this option:You’ll be missing out on reaching thousands of eBay buyers who are interested in items like yours
Your items will only be displayed on pages and emails directly related to your listings
Items from other sellers will not be displayed on your listings and emails related to your items
I’ve done it twice with USPS –photos of the broken object and received my money within 10 days.
Just wanted to update. The bowls arrived in perfect condition and the buyer left me a great feedback mentioning great packaging and communication… Thanks for all the help!
I’m one step behind in this saga.
I just printed out the label took a photo attached it in the email for eBay and sent it to him,I haven’t heard back so I don’t know if he already mailed it or not. Thats good to know though I didn’t realize the email address was on the paypal account. When I just looked at it some buyers didn’t have one some did.
how do I send the buyer the pdf in the bay message screen it will only allow a jpg….
T-Satt
You guys are SO MUCH SMARTER than eBay or paypal..
I was on the phone last night twice with eBay and they said there was no way to do this.
I just followed your directions and see that it is available.
In the meantime I refunded the buyer enough + a little extra to ship for me.
I have not heard back from him so I don’t know if I should just wait or try to send him the label.
What a mess.Ebay said I could not do this and recommended that the buyer just ‘return’ the item to me because the other buyer would have no protection if he mailed it directly?
Paypal also said this could not be done but to do it directly from USPS.
When I tried it would not allow me to create a 1st class shipping label fyi.
I may just reprint the label send it to him and if he does not use it just void it.
Ugg what a mess.
KerrieAlso I also realized that the USPS allowed me to send 2 different items with the same postage/upc info.
Hope I don’t get in trouble for that?-

01/07/2018 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Proper Way To Refund When Buyer Misuses Returns to Avoid Paying for Shipping #29980Yes I do incorporate a little more when offering free shipping although recently I lowered the price on a lot of mens clothes hopeing just to move them.
I have had a few returns to make as a buyer and the seller supplied me with a shpping coupon that I just had to print out.
Ebay told me that the buyer in this case would of had to pay for return shipping and then I would refund them what they paid for the shirt. So that’s where my confusion is.$100 for the set + she has paid $18 towards shipping.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/173039066961I would of asked for more but in my research for red ware bowls they seemed to be very low under $50. The woman who bought them collects Mexican Pottery. So I’m glad Plus I got them at auction for an unbelievable $10 no one seemed interested but me. 🙂
Well I’ve been out searching for a box very hard to find one with the dimensions I need. Waiting to hear from my friend’s who works at lowes and the other one who works at trader Joes for help. (Trader Joes has a lot of great boxes and they tend to unpack at night close to closing FYI ….
Btw my local uhaul has a large recycling box of free boxes that people can leave so I’ll be checking that regularly.
I may try to piece 2 boxes together I’m much better at cutting down to size then putting 2 together so we will see what I come up with. U haul has a 24 24 27 for $9..95 trying to avoid that one.
