Yes I purchased priority mail on ebay. I just talked to ebay they asked me to go to post office with the tracking to see if they can ‘recover’ the package.
It’s all very strange but sounds like I will be out the money for both shipping and the item.I almost always have my items scanned. It is possible that I dropped it off if I was in a rush. I honestly don’t remember . It was not a high priced item but money still.

One day on craigslist someone listed free bubble wrap in huge rolls. I went to get it and it turned out to be a company that makes bubble wrap! They gave me a car load in my suv and I still have some a couple of years later. Its the large bubbles so I don’t always need that but its come in handy a lot.
They told me that from time to time they have too much so they just list it free on list. I haven’t seen it since.09/14/2019 at 3:27 pm in reply to: Great Scavenger Shopping Tip For Hobby Lobby, Joann Fabrics, Etc… #67790Michaels also which is the same owner as Joaan and hobby lobby. Even if you show them a discount from the other store they will honor it.. the apps are great for that..
Thanks for all the responses. He also said that for some reason the global shipping would not go through on the listing because he does list most things that way. Maybe the seller went on to the USA site? He appreciates the information….

I’ve cross posted on poshmark from ebay. Not spending a lot of time there but some.
I have sold several items had tons of likes and shares and have liked and shared in the beginning.
Had several lowball offers which I just politely decline as I do on ebay :-).
Not focusing on it a lot but a sales a sale. I’ve listed mainly mens clothing and shoes some women’s vintage jewelry The one problem is the buyer automatically has to pay priority shipping for $6.49
that gives you up to 5 pounds to ship. So if they are buying a shirt a hat etc it’s a lot for the shipping unless you give them the discount. But pm still makes you ship priority you cannot ship 1st class to save buyer money. If you give the buyer the discount, PM will charge you the difference on your sale. I have an auto buy 3 for 15% off and you can make deals with people offering them less or a shipping discount etc.
My understanding is you are not supposed to use flat shipping only put it in a mailer or priority box. If you have more than 5 1bs there is another form to fill out that accounts for the difference and I think you have to pay for the difference.did they take away the neg fb rating too?
Something similar happened to a friend of mine recently the buyer refused or could not send a photo of the damage claimed he threw out the framed art print w glass so my friend could not get his insurance coverage. Did this after 2 months of no info. They returned all the money to the buyer. He’s been fighting with ebay over this to no avail.
Ebay took away the neg comment but not the neg fb rating. Ebay said they are unable to take away the neg.Meant to add seller claimed he sent a photo to ebay of damage but ebay doesn’t have it to send to seller and buyer claims ebay photo is broken. this guy was also a seller and knows the rules very bad interaction.08/15/2018 at 9:00 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 373: Should Running A Business Be Complicated? #47504You can also create a second id and use your 50 free listings each month for items under $10-$20. ebay does send a lot of 100 free extra listings also from time to time….
Jay you crack me up.
I’m just doing my due diligence have only sold a few items over $100 to people with registered addresses and fb and many through gps.I did call ebay they could not tell me what country their account was registered to, that this was a guest checkout and when she googled the shipping address she said it was a post office box when I googled the address I saw an old house. So I don’t know about that..
I spoke to paypal who said it was a valid paypal account and as long as I have tracking nothing will happen.
Just doing my due diligence you know. I have heard all kinds of horror stories and don’t want to be one of them. I always get good advice from everyone here and have probably avoided many problems by listening and reading the forums.
Thanks for all the advice. So I just went to send a note to the buyer and at the top of the ebay messaging system I see this.
The user you are contacting is registered on another eBay site and may speak a different language. Your message will be sent exactly as typed below.
He paid for it on paypal and the address seems to be registered to a florida address but I could not find a photo off gps site. Should I contact ebay is this still okay?
Thanks for the fast response.
No I have actually had very good luck with very few returns. A few cancellations but I just gave them their money back.I’m also not a power seller which I’m sure if I sold a lot more I would ultimately get some returns.
This is a delicate item and if someone were to ‘return’ it it would need to be packaged well in order to not become damaged. So I take it you don’t think its a problem? It was a new listing. The thing is I do sometimes give free shipping on certain merchandise but lately with the exception mainly of hats I am not offering free shipping even if I lower the price.
I guess I have to get excel now which I have no idea how to use or set up.
where do I get an inventory program for that? Accounting is not my thing it’s going to be a steep learning curve for me.Sharon thank you.
I just tried that and it worked. I thought Go Daddy would take care of it all. I’ve never used excel or any other programs and do like the simplicity of go daddy but I thought I was getting one basic program for everything.Sorry for all the ?’s…..So most people using go daddy have to use yet another program to keep track of everything?
Last year I just winged it guessing on a lot of inventory I couldn’t find the exact receipt for. Also I am selling a lot of personal older items so I just guesstimated those. What category am I supposed to keep my ‘inventory’ purchased in or is this also in another spreadsheet? and how do you keep track of when you bought it when there are so many items on each purchase?
For example I purchased tray lots of wwII items hats boots etc last year. So if I determine each item cost me $5 for example but some stuff sold last year some this year and so on How do I keep track? How do you keep track if you purchased something 3 or 4 years ago and it sold this year ? How do you even find it? This inventory stuff is really confusing to me. It seems all the full timers are very good at it.
So theres no way to manually import or record this information? That sucks I was hoping for a one stop solution.
