Ah! So it was you guys who were waving to me from across then creek. You should have walked over to say hi 🙂 I just thought you were really friendly people. We get some attention because people are excited about a building being renovated on Main Street.
Yes, property is cheap in Luray compared to Northern Virginia or Maryland. We get a stream of constant retirees who sell their townhouse for $650k, and buy a big property for $200k and live like kings. What we want are younger people who can work remotely to come out and help us re-build this community. Come on!

At first I thought it was crazy you have no AC, but you are in California. I guess things are heating up. We also have no AC in Virginia, but we’re just crazy,
2.875%. Amazing!
Doesnt money just get puled from whatever bank account you have attached to your eBay store?
Thanks for checking in. Sorry to here about your redundancy. 20 years of working fo them! Not much loyalty these days.
We’d love to hear more about what scavenging is like in Australia and who you sell to. Assume the US isnt a big market because of shipping?

The key is finding people in our community network that are already “vetted”.
Yeah, I’m not sure what your choices are on that return, we have the ability to not refund the full amount. We do it in cases like this where the buyer is abusing the return.
The buyer can dispute our “less than full refund”, but it gives us a chance to plead our case to eBay.
If its a US government stamp, its still good. Not sure if it have value other than its face value. You want to share some photos?
08/18/2020 at 8:21 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 476: #SaveTheUSPS and Crocs are Cool again #80783I’m always so impressed by how organized you are with your postcards. You’ve created an incredible pipeline. Are you still working alone? Any thoughts of hiring help now that you’re “retired”?
Thats a weird one. I wouldnt think a juicer attachment would be made out of pottery. I’d bet some kind of decorative piece.
08/18/2020 at 7:57 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 476: #SaveTheUSPS and Crocs are Cool again #80776Â About a year ago I started charging $3 for any postcard that I list over $15, my cut off used to be $25.
Do you mean you charge $3 shipping for any postcard over $15?
It’s only in certain categories. If you list in those categories, you can downgrade: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/listing-tips/free-listings?id=4163
08/17/2020 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Anyone else having their international packages undercharged by Ebay? #80767Ryanne does all our shipping and says she ships a lot of DHL. Hasn’t mentioned any under-charges. I wouldn’t use it other if we were losing that much money. There shouldnt be a discrepancy.

08/17/2020 at 3:25 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 476: #SaveTheUSPS and Crocs are Cool again #80757I think we can unarguably say there are postal delays. A large corporation like eBay would not make these announcements otherwise: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/How-we-re-responding-to-USPS-delays/ba-p/31134359
But I guess you could argue why the delays are happening.
Regardless, DeJoy is the Post Master. It’s his job to make sure USPS operates efficiently and effectively. If USPS isn’t operating well under his watch, this is a problem and he deserves negative attention. Anything else is empty excuses.
