Nope been selling for 13 years and always taped my labels on with no trouble.
01/29/2021 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Remind me: What are the best small items to sell on Ebay $20+? #85496Definitely scarves but also wallets. So easy to list and ship. A niche I’ve been getting into is vintage sewing patterns. Some aren’t worth much but vintage costume patterns are great. Gunne Sax sewing patterns too. Oh and vintage fabric but that one is tricky because you have to know how to describe feel and weight if there is no brand..
@mycottage I love this! Thank you I was just wondering how to keep track of the ten requests I have with the USPS. Thanks 🙂
@jay we drive old cars too. Much less stressful. Our last beast was a 2001 GMC Yukon. Best car ever. We retired it because it had 297,000 on it and the interior is shot. Not horrible but you know doors open when you go around corners etc. We parked it because it developed an exhaust leak. Like turn the thing on and exhaust comes out in a wall from the passenger door all the way back. We kept it and will fix it but we figured we needed a newer car for traveling. We bought a 2008 Minivan. Cash. Best feeling ever not to worry about it isn’t it? One of my favorite stories about the Yukon is the day we got hit by a Prius. Lady must never have looked in the rear view mirror threw it in reverse and smack. Yukon wasn’t hurt a bit naturally.. But we still laugh like how did you not see this black beast behind you??? 🙂
I finally heard back from Ebay for business on Facebook. They acknowledged the problem and said they knew it was an inconvenience. I tried to explain that this has been going on for three weeks and I do a minimum of 12 listings a day and that I didn’t think inconvenience was the correct word. Oh well I expressed my opinion. 🙂 After some back and forth they suggested I reverse the process and take the photos first and finish the listing on the desktop. And you couldn’t tell me this first?!?!? LOL anyway I promptly forgot to do it that way today so I can’t tell you if it works but it might be worth a try. It’s just frustrating with the managed payments and this the same month. Oh well keep my head down and keep listing I guess?
Every single day for three weeks. I messaged eBay for business and haven’t received a response. It’s very frustrating and time consuming. I’m sorry it isn’t just me 🙁
Just started using my second apple air today. We love them!
I do. I guess it’s a holdover from when I first started but I like having one more piece of paper to track what goes where. Frequently monday morning includes 20+ packages and my brain needs help. And my kids like to visit and tell me “important” info so it’s nice if I get interrupted. I have a small copier machine so every piece of paper that can get re-used for labels or scan sheets does. In addition every mailer I get that can be re-used get re-used. So yes I use a lot of paper and mailers but I also do my best to re-use anything I can. I like knowing if something happens there’s a piece of paper in there with mine and the buyer’s address too.
I know now there is an option to pay fees once the invoice is finalized. I think I could see myself making a weekly payment to ebay just to keep ahead of it.

I too am selling more hard goods than clothes. Clothes are 75% of my store. I have been diversifying over the last year and it has been a good choice I think. The summer has been so slow and Atomic Star I get days of panic too. I do think the ebbs and flow have somewhat to do with pay day. For example the last week of the month is usually painfully slow and I am getting low ball after low ball offer on stuff. I feel like those days you work harder to make money because it $20 here and $15 here. And then there’s days when people are buying $40 shirts outright with no haggling. I don’t think I’m saying anything you don’t already know but hopefully it helps to know you have company. It’s the first of the month so people got paid and hopefully they will come shop at your store soon!
And no I’m not quitting clothing number one I love it and number two people always need clothes. They don’t always need vintage Mikasa dinnerware. No matter how pretty it is. 🙂
As far as low end brands I look for. Chico’s (I know I know) Lands’ End, LL Bean, boring but people always need good clothes…Sonia I don’t know that’s it’s strange it just seems for me the more specific the questions the less likely they are to buy. I always cringe at the super specific questions…
I had someone purchase a snow globe and ask me to please pack it carefully since it was a gift. At this point it took all my discipline not to say how would one not pack a snow globe carefully? I can’t just throw it in a poly mailer and have it arrive safely???? 🙂 It is going about 100 miles away and I double boxed it so I’m sure it will be fine.
Then I got the lady that bought a cross stitch pattern that was already packaged in a ziploc bag. It is just paper mind you. She asked I please pack carefully to prevent damage and write do not bend on the envelope. There was a lively dinner discussion as to how much duct tape I could wrap around the package “to prevent damage” and not get negative feedback. We decided none 🙂
