Well I got it. I called again and the agent seemed quite shocked the first agent didn’t call me back. I got an email from the first agent within twelve hours apologizing for not calling me back and he HAD submitted the credit but it was denied twice. He did it the third time and got it through for me. However, he documented it not as me asking for the promoted listing credit but just asking for a random $30 credit since I was a top rated seller. Um. ok. I wonder why that got denied? π
Ebay sent me a questionnaire asking how they did and I told them. I also mentioned that I noticed in this is “fun” is that every time I call they try to tell me I got the promoted listing fee credit and they name off some ten dollar amount about or so. When you get a return and it sells from promoted listings when you process the refund you get that promoted listing fee back and it is listed as a promoted listing fee credit. I have explained this to every rep I talk to. When I get the credit I called about it shows up as misc. credit. on my invoice. I’m not saying ebay is purposely trying to get out of paying that credit but it does seem they could have named those credits better. Anyway…@retro treasures what happens if you buy a label on PayPal and upload the tracking number to the listing?
06/21/2019 at 1:37 pm in reply to: Anyone Else had trouble getting the Quarterly Credit for Using Promoted Listings #63835Thanks mighty. I still haven’t received that phone call I was guaranteed to get. I’m going to give it until monday and then call again. Seems to me last time it took a few days. April’s invoice was fun. They credited me for all the final value fees on shipping for my returns but did not credit the final value fee on the item itself. I did get that resolved. Again they seemed to not know at all what I was talking about. Oh well what else do I have to do other than call ebay π
06/18/2019 at 8:00 pm in reply to: Anyone Else had trouble getting the Quarterly Credit for Using Promoted Listings #63711Thanks. So to summarize I have only gotten it once this year and only because I called. At least it’s written out so I can read that when I have to call. Oh wait. I forgot I will be getting a call back in 24-48 hours. π

06/18/2019 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Why when I send an offer if the item is promoted do they take a fee? #63702I was thinking that too the other day. I did the work Ebay shouldn’t get the fee. π I “think” if I understand it the window ends at thirty days but I always wonder if John clicks and then Jane comes and buys it within the 30 days does ebay get the fee because there was a click on your listing. Or does ebay differentiate between different people? I do know if I see a listing I want to click on that is sponsored I skip it and take the time to scroll to the unsponsored one and buy that one instead. I don’t know if it does any good or not…
06/18/2019 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Anyone Else had trouble getting the Quarterly Credit for Using Promoted Listings #63698Yes you’re right $30 a quarter I’m sorry. I was getting it quarterly for example last year I got it in November, August, etc. every three months. So you get your credit every month instead of every quarter?

I was reading the the FAQ since they didn’t seem to have a clue what I was talking about it… I wonder if I got it quarterly since I ran through my $30 allotment in a month’s time. I normally have about $40 a month in fees. I’m still wondering why it quit working though. Frustrating. I’ll go read your question now. Thanks for the response…06/18/2019 at 6:01 pm in reply to: Buyer opened an ebay return case AND a PayPal not as described case #63689Update. She called and escalated on the day Ebay would close the return. They closed it.. because there was a PayPal case open. She called PayPal and escalated. I responded for a second time to the case inviting her to return. I assume she called PayPal again and within a half hour the case was closed in favor of her. Due to the unique nature of the case they refunded her and I didn’t have to. So I didn’t have to refund but I was still annoyed that they got to keep the item and the money too….
I wouldn’t sell yourself short. If you are confident you can get say 20.00 a piece for them I’d probably offer her no less than fifteen a piece for example. If you need the cash then go for it but if not I’d sit on them and make more. But again just my opinion. I hate it when people try to pressure me to give them a steep discount and tend to say thanks but I know I this is a fair price and I’m willing to wait for it. I once had one person guarantee me there was no way I would get what I was asking and it would still be there in a month’s time. I sold it for my asking price less than a month later and I wanted to email them and tell them maybe not to buy any lottery tickets… but I didn’t. π But again just an internet stranger’s .02. They look like a really fun thing to be able to have around. I love pretty things to list. π

I engaged awhile ago with someone who was badgering me to answer a measurement question and wanted it right now. Probably shouldn’t have but it was free therapy on a stressful day. π
I am a minimalist measurement person. A shirt gets underarm and length measurement. Pants get waist rise and inseam. That’s it and I don’t usually respond to any other requests. Hip measurements are almost impossible unless you say measure five inches down from the waistband and spell it out in the listing and it just seems like most people don’t read it anyway. Usually the ones that ask for a sleeve opening are super picky and aren’t going to purchase unless it is exactly right and you have just wasted your time. Seems to work pretty well.
I called monday and got the full refund today (friday) so that was nice!
Well I got one today. I shipped a cross stitch kit that weighed 4 oz. It was a sheet of paper some floss and the cloth. Yeah. Anyway they claim it weighed one pound five ounces and charged me an extra 5.74. I will be making a call on Monday. π
Thanks Terri I just went and changed it too. π
