Conry?! Do you know how much I pay my writing team?
When it first rolled out it was buggy and every single thing I submitted got declined for vague reasons. It looks like they have removed some of the kinks from the system.
Great post – I am often hesitant to sell lower cost items because of time suck and storage issues, but it looks like you have you system down pretty solid. It’s also always helpful when you enjoy the things you are listing.
Tell me more about using a heat gun to remove labels. I am intrigued.
Everything about your post makes me so happy. The both of you deserve all your success. Congratulations.
How long have you had the Owl on sale? I think you are way under valued. If you don’t mind holding for a while, I’ll be you could get at least $100.00 for it.

Great store!
Just a heads up – switching to Quickbooks (especially if you are mid range seller with of high volume of transactions) is NOT easy. It’s an entirely new work flow, and takes a lot of set up in order to work properly.
I am still wading my way through the transition. I decided it wasn’t worth my time to mess around, and paid Quickbooks a flat $500.00 fee for their live book keeping department to import all my data since Jan 1st.
I plan on then paying $200.00 a month for the live bookkeeping service until I get a handle on managing the work flow myself. It’s expensive, but Quickbooks is the industry standard and book keeping for business is all they do. Once I fully understand how to use the product, I’ll drop back down to the 20 bucks per month and manage myself.
I find eBay’s glib attitude towards their data exporting to be frustrating. I have 20 years plus experience in accounting and I can say with confidence that their data exporting, is not easy. It’s a data salad that has to be waded through.
I’ll keep ya’ll posted on the progress…
You may also want to reference Carnival of Souls. Subject looks a bit inspired by this image:
Haunted Goth Girl Emerging From her own Mouth against Necronomicon Swirl Spiral –
Put the dimensions in the item specifics, not the title.
You need to hit as many keywords as possible. That is a great piece someone will purchase it.
After reading a new thread about selling amateur paintings on eBay. I thought I would revive this post.
These paintings sat in my inventory for 1048 days.
For almost 3 years I adjusted the price and tweaked the listing. But the only thing that closed the sale, was waiting for the right person to stumble across it at the right time.
My guess is these are hanging in a funky vintage clothing store or restaurant.
But… never forgot that other peoples taste may be wildly different than your own….
It can take years for the right person to come across your listing.
Since 2019, I’ve sold about 26 paintings for a total $1,500.00 net profit. The average sale price is $60.00.
For paintings that sold, the average time in the store was 194 days. Some paintings sell within 24 hours, and the longest I have held on to one is 1048 days.
Here is a link to some of my listings for paintings. As my descriptive skills are terrible, I tend to let the photos speak for itself. However, if you are good at writing copy, you should probably add more descriptions to your listings.
Yeah it was a rare type of slide rule AND it had the phone company’s emblem.
@AntinqueFrog Thank you for the link. Yes that is the very same glaze.
@ temudgin thank you for the information. I agree, I sincerely doubt they are Chinese knock offs the estate that I got these from had been virtually sealed off for 20 years and there were a lot of other mid century and older pieces.
Would you mind reposting the pintrest link? It did not come through.
