I look at it as my off-brand outlet store. It’s in the bad pat of town.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll still keep the separate store, I like having a “back room” as not to offend delicate sensibilities.05/05/2021 at 9:19 am in reply to: Do you keep record of tracking numbers when delivered? #88527
If I sold something for Ten Thousand Dollars, I might keep the records for a few years, but I agree with everyone else. It’s not worth your time. Your time would be better spent, listing, sourcing or catching up on Netflix 🙂
Really? Oh cool the way I read it , it looked like my listing would be hidden from buyers.
The iphone also hates my voice :(.
I don’t want to say I am not complaining (because I am). We live in a magical time where our phone truly do extraordinary things. I was hoping for something beyond the miracle of the tiny computer and dictaphone that is in my pocket. If there isn’t a common trip planning software solution, life is still glorious.
@Jay – Yeah I just hate typing on my phone. My fingers are too fat. I was hoping for something that could help plan ahead of time. But sounds like it’s just me and my fat fingers!04/11/2021 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 509: Everyone Doing Back Flips #87403
@Jay as a point of example I have a few rental properties which are managed by a rental company. Even though management fees are taken before I receive payment, the 1099 from that company is for the gross rent. I can deduct the management fee but Uncle Sam whats to know my gross earnings.04/11/2021 at 7:32 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 509: Everyone Doing Back Flips #87402
@Jay I think they will issue 1099s the same way Paypal did. Paypal issues their 1099’s based on gross sales. I’m pretty sure the corporate entities are required to show the gross about paid out. I am open to being wrong on this one (I hope I am) but from the limited research I did thats what it sounds like.04/11/2021 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Can’t Identify This Artist Signature – Anyone Recognize? #87398
Hmm a bit of research I think this might be Ruth Kerkovius.04/11/2021 at 6:34 pm in reply to: Can’t Identify This Artist Signature – Anyone Recognize? #87397
Pretty sure first bit of text is “Artist Proof Church door in Norway”. Not 100% on Norway.04/11/2021 at 4:27 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 509: Everyone Doing Back Flips #87391
@Ryanne I am 100% not certain that eBay will issue a 1099-k based on Net Earnings after their fees. In all likelihood they will send a 1099k for the gross earnings (including sales tax). I think the community is headed for a bit of a train wreck come tax time for 2021. I would strongly suggest downloading the monthly earnings reports that summarizes all fees on a quarterly basis.04/10/2021 at 8:46 am in reply to: What does your CPA Say? COVID Expenses Deductible for Scavengers? #87375
Thanks @CMtella – much appreciated.04/09/2021 at 11:51 am in reply to: What does your CPA Say? COVID Expenses Deductible for Scavengers? #87366
@cmtella – got another question. I have been sourcing from out-of-state auctions lately. Can I expense the cost to get goods shipped to me at the time of purchase (this is me buying, not selling to a customer)? Or do I need to incorporate the shipping expense into the cost of goods and only expense when the goods are sold?
I purchased 100 Shiny Widgets for $200.00. The vendor charged me $200.00 plus $30.00 for shipping the widgets from the auction house to my house. Can I expense the $30.00 shipping immediately and add the $200.00 value of the widgets to my inventory?
There are some really excellent low cost software solutions. I use pixomatic (on an iphone) and it removes white background perfectly 90% of the time. It is fair more effective than the free background removal that comes up in the eBay app.04/06/2021 at 10:00 am in reply to: Why I always check a buyers left feedback in certain situations #87277
