Certainly part of the slump in on line sales is due the shortened Holiday season and election agitate. But it would be nice if eBay reversed its policy of shifting the entire burden of advertising and promotion on to its sellers.
When is the last time you saw an ad for eBay on television, radio or print. Have the country is in an econmoic the other half is doing great. It would be nice if they spent their own money to target other demographics.
I believe in trolling with kindness.
It’s the most efficient way to piss people off.

oops it looks so pretty without the HTML.

Ever since they switched to managed payments, I am pretty sure the $20.00 fee is gone. If it’s charged it is absorbed by eBay. I have had at least 3 credit card fraud incidents and eBay has sent me a message stating I did not have to provide any refunds.
Yes I have decided it’s defiantly not Ethel. Thanks for help with the name E. Shirley Robinson. I have a huge stack of signed headshots from working performers in the early 1950s. So many of them never made it big, but they are still beautiful.
Thanks again to all. @Antique Frog the plane identification is VERY helpful.
Heat gun sounds like over kill. I use a standard issue cheap Walmart hair dryer and it works great, The only stickers I have problems with are those non removable security tags (they have coils of metal embedded in them). Those sticker leave a residue but I seldom come across them.
Works great on DVDs, paperback books, mugs and other ceramics.
For items where the residue must come off, I follow up with some orange goo gone.
Works 99% of the time.
This looks like an eBay A/B test.
Pros: It puts the FOMO on the buyer not the seller. I am more inclined to accept a slightly lower offer, if I know that I am going to get that payment right away.
Cons: I wonder if buyers will be able to carpet bomb buyers selling similar items. Hopefully there are protects against this as I am not interested in getting 10 offers that never pan out.
11/26/2023 at 10:54 pm in reply to: eBay asking me to sign and upload document re: return fraud #101736I have not had this happen to me, but I actually think this is a very good thing eBay is asking you to do. If they want to report the buyer to the post office for mail fraud, they are going to need official documentation from you the seller.
What your buyer did is a federal crime. Hopefully eBay is looking to secure a paper trail tacked to the buyer.
Send that in and help them build a case against the scammer!
I gotta say I really hope this trend peters out soon… The platforms are looking to increase their bottom lines without raising fees anymore (because I think they know they have hit the ceiling). The result are these very opaque advertising fees, where you never really know what you are paying for.
I find it frustrating that the “store” that I pay for is now filled from top to bottom with ads for other people’s products. I am constantly getting messages from customers asking me questions about details listed in the item specifics, because they are now hidden to add more room for other people’s ads.
It’s a sadness but I soldier forward :).
