The iphone also hates my voice :(.
I don’t want to say I am not complaining (because I am). We live in a magical time where our phone truly do extraordinary things. I was hoping for something beyond the miracle of the tiny computer and dictaphone that is in my pocket. If there isn’t a common trip planning software solution, life is still glorious.
@Jay – Yeah I just hate typing on my phone. My fingers are too fat. I was hoping for something that could help plan ahead of time. But sounds like it’s just me and my fat fingers!
@Jay as a point of example I have a few rental properties which are managed by a rental company. Even though management fees are taken before I receive payment, the 1099 from that company is for the gross rent. I can deduct the management fee but Uncle Sam whats to know my gross earnings.
@Jay I think they will issue 1099s the same way Paypal did. Paypal issues their 1099’s based on gross sales. I’m pretty sure the corporate entities are required to show the gross about paid out. I am open to being wrong on this one (I hope I am) but from the limited research I did thats what it sounds like.
Hmm a bit of research I think this might be Ruth Kerkovius.
Pretty sure first bit of text is “Artist Proof Church door in Norway”. Not 100% on Norway.
@Ryanne I am 100% not certain that eBay will issue a 1099-k based on Net Earnings after their fees. In all likelihood they will send a 1099k for the gross earnings (including sales tax). I think the community is headed for a bit of a train wreck come tax time for 2021. I would strongly suggest downloading the monthly earnings reports that summarizes all fees on a quarterly basis.

04/09/2021 at 11:51 am in reply to: What does your CPA Say? COVID Expenses Deductible for Scavengers? #87366@cmtella – got another question. I have been sourcing from out-of-state auctions lately. Can I expense the cost to get goods shipped to me at the time of purchase (this is me buying, not selling to a customer)? Or do I need to incorporate the shipping expense into the cost of goods and only expense when the goods are sold?
For example:
I purchased 100 Shiny Widgets for $200.00. The vendor charged me $200.00 plus $30.00 for shipping the widgets from the auction house to my house. Can I expense the $30.00 shipping immediately and add the $200.00 value of the widgets to my inventory?
There are some really excellent low cost software solutions. I use pixomatic (on an iphone) and it removes white background perfectly 90% of the time. It is fair more effective than the free background removal that comes up in the eBay app.

COVID Expenses Deductible for Scavengers? #87276Thanks cmtella – My rationale was, I need the Co-vid vaccine to safely perform my job (scavenging going to thrift stores etc…). But I realize it’s a stretch, since the vaccine is is also required to safely exist as a human being. Not claiming.

04/05/2021 at 9:19 pm in reply to: What does your CPA Say? COVID Expenses Deductible for Scavengers? #87266I drove 558 miles round trip! And I would do it gain (actually I probably will in a week). Mask cost is negotiable. Most interested in the milage. The wait time in New Mexico is too long, but there is no wait in Texas.
