Oh I have every confidence you are 100% in the right. But if she files an INAD (even if she is in the wrong) there is nothing you can do.
I would go with the polite refusal. If you ignore her she may just pursue an INAD. If she is unreasonable, there really isn’t any recourse you have, so you might as well stroke her ego.
My thought for the true cost shipping program would be that it would be optional. Just like free returns.
Costs beyond exact postage should be figured into the base cost of the item. Labor, packing etc.. are fixed prices. If I have to pack each widget I sell into a $3.00 box, and it costs an additional $2.00 for someone to pack it – those costs don’t change based on the destination of the package.
And yes the word “FORCED” was a bit hyperbolic (but not too much). If you sell commodity goods, you may find a mid ground. When I sell DVDs I generally provide free shipping because the cost differences are negligible. But if when selling unique bric-a-brac it’s hard to find that mid point for each item.
WOW – Thanks wall of text. I will do my homework and get back to you – but to answer a few questions. There are 3 prints and the signatures varies slightly on each one, so it’s probably not a reproduced signature. I think the variation in pencil density is just my photography but I will get back to you on that.
thanks for this detailed info – I am going to hit the books!
Curious what average selling price was on worthpoint
Yeah I think its pretty real. The 1977 DalArt embosse was hidden under the matte. If this is a forgery, it’s a good one!
There was a 4th print that was slightly damaged so I left it behind. Once I realized what I had was probably legit, I went back to the thrift store. In my 45 minute absense, someone had purchased #4.
I’ll list for $1,500.00 and see what people start offering.
I am skeptical. I think this is a Hobby Lobby style branding. I just found “Made in USA” stamped on the back. Better than made in China I guess. But probably not older than the 70s or 80s
Good summary here:
Usually part 2 has something to do with the payment. The cashiers check will arrive and it won’t be for $70.00 it will be for $700.00.
The “buyer” will say s/he made a “mistake” and that could the seller please cash the check and send back the difference. For the sellers trouble, they will usually sweeten the deal by offering that the seller keep a larger portion of the refund (i.e. you only need to send me back 500 for your troubles).
Of course the cashiers check is junk but it will take months for the fraud to come to the surface. In the meantime the “buyer” has walked off with the refund and the seller is stuck dealing with their bank (who will not support them for depositing a bad check).
I see that adult items can’t be sold through managed payments. I sell vintage 8mm film loops (which most definitely belong in the adults only category). Can a seller use managed payments for approved items and stock with PayPal for items that no longer permitted?
The Q&A section is very unclear on this point.
Very strange that Ebay will continue a person to list in adults only, and they penalize them for it.
Yep there are at least 2 chapters dedicated to this topic in the book Second Hand (actually not specifically about Mexico but about countries trying to keep used clothing our of their markets).
I am happy to offer free shipping to Amazon customers who are willing to pay me $99.00 a year for the privilege.
Just last night my husband and I were frustrated that insta cart does not deliver whole beans from our local market. I almost ordered from David Lynch – but since his business if probably gonna be okay – I immediate paused the podcast and ordered from your guys.
Looking forward to my beans!
David
It took almost a year but this finally sold for $50.00.
Well that settles it. I have lost my mind. Now that I go back to look again, I see it’s the first option. I must have stared at my screen for an hour this morning looking for it.
