Thanks (as always) for the information AND for easing my anxiety! SL is such an invaluable resource and community! Liz
Thanks Jay! I do have an accountant that files our taxes. I’m sure everything will be fine! Just wondering what the experience is like for anyone who has been audited.
Thanks for the responses! I got tripped up this past year because I was confused about the sales tax. I am trying to do better this year. I am trying out a way to process the Final Value Fee taking into account that ebay now charges different percentages for different categories.
I am terrible with math and worksheets so maybe i shouldn’t DIY it anymore with my simple google doc spreadsheet. I;ve been considering Easy Auction Tracker… maybe now is the time after a couple of years of me trying to do it all on my own.
Thanks! liz
09/27/2021 at 7:28 am in reply to: Question about cancelling a bought and paid for purchase…. #93256Update! got up this morning planning to cancel the order and found a message in my inbox telling me to ship the book and just issue a $30 refund! It paid to just wait a few days to hear back from the buyer… now what the heck happened to that book!
Have an amazing day everyone! Cheers! liz

09/26/2021 at 2:38 pm in reply to: Question about cancelling a bought and paid for purchase…. #93246Htwown Tex… the book is available on ebay for about $30 +- . I haven’t heard back from the buyer but I think I am going to send out volumes 1-26 with a note to contact me about refunding the difference. Even with 27 volumes, they aren’t a complete set. They go up to 35.

I haven’t posted my sales recently because nothing has been noteworthy. 😛 I ended up donating a lot of my inventory to a charity thrift store in the past couple of weeks to declutter my home a bit.
I also reserved a table at a large vendor Flea Market next weekend. Hopefully will sell a bunch of stuff there. We’ll see. Anyone have success with flea markets?
Steven, I got a set of those vintage lawn darts last summer at a free house clean out listed on fb marketplace. They sold immediately and I was able to ship them out before Ebay dinged my account.
Be well, stay cool and have a peaceful day! Liz (mother of cats)

This was kind of fun! My husband is pretty hard on his clothes. Normally his worn out stuff is too far gone to donate so we toss it out. Listed 3 pairs of his old stained carhartt pants… sold for $21! https://www.ebay.com/itm/363345098677 (better than the landfill)
I always pick up old graphic supplies at estate sales. This vintage Smith Corona typewriter brush sold within hours for $12! https://www.ebay.com/itm/363346517250
Sold an old Sony Walkman SRF portable weather radio that my neighbor threw out. $40 https://www.ebay.com/itm/363345083406
I am still helping my husband sell his vintage bicycle parts. They sell almost immediately for decent money but not the most exciting listings to share…

I haven’t had any good sales the last couple weeks so haven’t shared but always enjoy these posts! Have an AMAZING & PEACEFUL day everyone! Liz
04/02/2021 at 8:48 pm in reply to: Help please. Buyer claims item is damaged and has issued a return. #87204My goodness! Thank you so much for all of the responses! You guys are terrific!
My husband is honest and generous to a fault and he was really shocked and offended by this accusation. These parts are expensive but we are selling for less than full value. The buyer actually got a really good deal on them!
Anyway, Ebay FB messaged me and told me that they will have to side with the buyer because “who knows” what we actually sent. over 1000 positive feedbacks mean nothing. The buyer has only 6 feedbacks most from over a year ago.
We’ll accept the return and follow the advise given. Unfortunately, IndySales, these levers don’t have part ID numbers. These are just the small carbon levers taken off the entire Campy brake system. They are NOS and virtually impossible to get.
Anyway, my husband is still pissed but has calmed down about it. He knows we will prob. lose out on the money.
With all that is going on in the world, this is just an unfortunate inconvenience.
Thanks for the advise everyone! Liz (catmom)Thank you Amatino!!!!
Curious Curator I have dabbled in restoring furniture also. Where do you end up selling your stuff? I haven’t had much success with CL or FB marketplace. Everyone seems to want everything for cheap.
Anyway, I am looking to retire this December and will have more time for Ebay! However, my main plan is to follow my life’s dream and become a certified riding instructor, professional horse trainer. I am only 55 so I figure I have some good active years left. I am really curious to see what kind of income I can generate with the horses.

I mentioned recently that my area of older homes is going through a new round of Fed-fueled housing bubble flip-mania. Contents of older homes are just dumped on the curb! I can’t help but stop and take a look at the junk. In the last couple of years i’ve amassed a ton of smalls that i throw in plastic totes. I finally put some lots together. 2 sold this week. They didn’t sell for a lot but most of it was saved from the landfill and was free anyway! $30 and $40

https://www.ebay.com/itm/363288377645At an estate sale in my neighborhood there was a huge collection of postcards that the person’s mother had collected. I didn’t want them ALL but the seller offered them to me for $40. There were about 30 binders. I pulled the cards, sold the ones I didn’t want and have been selling the empty binders. 4 empty vintage binders $45/free ship
https://www.ebay.com/itm/363275985238Still selling bike parts from my husband’s endless supply! BOLO for vintage anodized aluminum bike parts from the 80s and 90s. We picked up this Ringle Water Bottle Cage at a sale last week and it sold overnight to a buyer in Germany. Paid $1 sold $50

Have a great weekend everyone! Liz
