Unrelated, related problem to report- Yesterday I was locked out of my account- password wouldn’t work. on the iphone app and on the laptop. changed it , log in is fine.
tracking, i was late on a package about 3 months ago, and it showed up as such on my dashboard up until today… I’m 100% on time.
Did they mash the reset button and give everyone 100%? or does it drop off? i’ve been selling less than 12 mos.Unrelated, unrelated conspiracy theory- remember the lady who called in about ebay giving out her phone # ? I thought yeah right, baloney.
Until I read a recent thread on reddit with the same theme, except it was on the offer up platform and a phone # was given… and they referenced other similar experiences- perhaps there is some sort of bug, glitch or cyber malfeasance probing or poking around for weak targets IE poor systems = poor security

Regarding the packing request, I had a very similar experience when I sold delicate WW2 ship models.
The instructions sent were so specific, it felt like responding to a ransom note ” wrap each ship with 6 or 7 rubber bands no wider than 1/8th inch , then wrap in saran wrap, then suspend the case in the box…etc”
– like you I was initially kind of put off, but I actually learned a lot from that- The bummer is the guy gave me no feedback- the reframed positive was the sale price was reward enough.

SallyReport: crickets. Sold 3 things locally on OfferUp that were laying around the backyard, and had a couple best offers on ebay that fizzled but have not listed or picked in days- I’m doing great for the month due to the sale above and a few other nice sales in June.
The grind of the remodel is settling down to a non chaotic state, with the completion of major time and money sucking projects; Roof, electrical, siding and paint- and I feel like I can breath again for a minute. I’m broke as a joke but I can breath and the universe will provide.

The SallyReport: Ebay is still the stepchild to the rental reno…a few sales, and listed 2 items. The highlight for me was the beauty pageant hot rollers 39.99 shipping included, that I bought for 8 bucks at goodwill, in the box nearly new. I bought these during my first days on Ebay (100 days ago) and I was glad to let them go, I learned I’m not interested in hot rollers at all…
Sold the 26 Pipe stand for 125.00 shipping included. local online auction score for under 10 bucks.

It’s truly been life changing.Hey Jay, I was just listening to that story on NPR- How will states be able to implement this? Or will it be the honor system until the 20k threshold for form 1099 federal tax. Does the fed share this info with the states? We don’t pay state income tax, We pay 10% sales tax and a billion other state tax fees on everything in between….Any thoughts on this?
I bought my vehicle on the WWW through Beepi.com , now defunct i think. The company was out of Ca. and an associate of mine who is in the auto sales industry was livid that this company could operate in Wa state without paying B&O tax etc. They did charge me sales tax. Just an example of interstate commerce and ecommerce intersecting. It seems impossibly hard to legislate technology that is evolving so quickly-
Ebay active items Views are really acting weird- I have my account open in 2 tabs on my laptop same item has 77 views and 1 watcher, same item different tab shows the dash – views and 1 watcher. Normally the two tabs will show the same data on my device. iphone shows zero views also. Reframing into a positive; Fine by me I spend too much time in my head with those figures anyway- best, sally
Christine- if you have a lot to photograph, you might consider 1/4 page collages?- could get you 48 items/photos displayed. there is a free iphone app for that. Its useful when 12 photos just are not enough- The salty vets here probably have a better solution. Maybe a video?
Ditto on sell it all at once-Re-investing back into the business and just got a Rollo Printer, set up and install was pretty easy for a non techno person- I use a MAC book…Need a sale to test it out!
Wondering how others use it for FedEx- looks like I will have to do some research-
It sounds like the personal correspondence is the provenance which authenticates the rest- it seems much more authentic with the letters.
If it were me, bundle it all up list it- I bet it sells fast- Singer, Actor, Celeb- maybe the Harvey Milk GLBT history Museum would be interested…But I know less than nothing about selling such things-Good Luck and I’d like to hear the outcome regardless!

Mike and Terri and all the over ’39rs I echo your sentiments on the 2nd half of the hourglass. I’m 51 , not working for the man anymore and lovin it- The freedom is mind blowing.
I still have my “worst case scenario worries” as described by our hosts on the podcast, its part of my larger “impending doom syndrome”. But it is minuscule to the levels I was at while grinding for 31 years-
I’m Just keeping my foot on the gas and following the path. Medicine, technology and the Universe may keep us fit to our 100’s! I’m betting on it, you should gamble on that! and the same strategy applies at the craps table.
