Add to this discussion – I’ve had good luck with rubbing alcohol in getting sticky residue off. It takes a little more effort than Mike is describing with the lighter fluid but does the trick.
I bet I have some lighter fluid in the garage. I’ll go take a look later on today.I’ll cut the tape as best I can and indicate “the box is a little banged up and has tape on it”.
They do this to everything that goes to the stores. Puzzles, games… I once picked up a stack of illustrations with educational explanations on the back. I couldn’t get the tape off the first or last picture – which really stunk because the first one was a super cute whale.I’ve sold vintage denim jackets with minor wear holes and a few small stains. I think those kinds of damage are ok because it adds to the authenticity of the garment. People want to feel cool when they wear it and if the jacket has been around and “seen some things” they feel like part of that been there/done that ethos is passed on to the wearer.
Denim overalls seem to have a similar appeal.Clothing as a means to showcase ones personality has always been fascinating to me. We all have to get dressed each morning before we go out in the world. Why does each person choose what they put on their body? Sure, we dress for the weather, our job, a uniform but beyond that, we all try to show (or hide) our innermost self by what we put on our outsides.
Thanks for the clarification on the postage. I’ll remember that.
Interesting – on the showing prices for multiples. Makes it hard to get higher prices on the other ones. What if you ended/canceled the listing and made a new one? That might be too much work unless you had a bunch of multiples and were kicking yourself for accepting that first low ball.
For the shipping over 5lbs. Can’t you request a label for that? I’ve never had to do it but I see the button. Do you have to pay more or does Poshmark cover the higher cost?
I’m listing clothes tonight and have tossed 1/4 of my items back to redonate. I REALLY need to check better. Ugh!
I just drape them over my own bed and take pictures. (make sure to clean off your bedside table first!)
I also include a note – shown on queen size bed – for a size reference.Next bit of advice I learned from Instagram – don’t just share your closet. Edit each item and then relist. You don’t have to change anything in the listing but if you go in like you are going to edit it and then save/list it, somehow the Poshmark algorithm (which they claim they don’t have) marks it differently than an item that is shared the normal way.
Caveat – it takes a long time to go through a closet and do this. It’s about 5 clicks plus a lot of scrolling. I have 61 things in my closet and it probably took me 10 minutes to go through the whole thing.
The instagram folks also recommend sharing in the evening as that is when the most people are on the site. Searches default to Just Shared so that makes sense to me. Why did I decided to try this little experiment at 8:30am? Oops.I LOVE THAT! I was really, really, really hoping you got it for free.
That decorated mannequin is Awesome! It looks like an estate sale find but I really want it to have been a free pile find.

Reminding myself of this has been really helpful. I previously worked in healthcare and was literally dealing with life or death situations. Now… Either they pay or they don’t. Makes no difference to me.
That’s not to say you can’t work with buyers if they send a nice note before the end of the auction or with a low ball offer. Of if they ask to cancel the transaction – at that point, I make sure to click Buyer asked to cancel.
10/22/2018 at 12:16 pm in reply to: Bidder trying to get discount and free shipping after auction ended #50540Set up the automatic unpaid item thingy and forget about this transaction. More than likely the buyer won’t pay and after a week it will be automatically relisted for you.
I resisted doing the automatic unpaid item assistant for a long time, not sure why, but as I’ve grown my store, I have too many other things to worry about. Now I just worry about shipping out paid items, answering questions, and dealing with things that I HAVE to deal with. You don’t have to deal with this buyer. Either they pay or they don’t. If they don’t, just relist and maybe up the price if you are so inclined.
We had something similar happen at my house tonight. I sometimes include pictures of the cat with the listing. I used to also include pictures of the cat in powerpoint presentations that I presented to the whole company, at my last job. I’m consistent, if not totally professional.
Decided to put a puzzle together to make sure I have all the pieces. You see my help?
They wouldn’t have to call in all of the debt. Just enough to make a point.
Presumably the US economy won’t completely collapse, but crippled enough to make it obvious that China is the new world superpower could be beneficial in the long run. As the US economy rebuilds, their debt is worth more again.
I had a specialized history teacher in college who pointed out that the turn of every century brought change and usually war. Looks like things are right on schedule.
