What’s to stop China from the nuclear option? Rhetorical question, obviously.
Currently, diplomacy isn’t working with the US. As I see it, the tarrifs are a short sighted power play by a bully. Why wouldn’t China escalate if they think it will save their economy and hurt the bully? I can see machismo taking over and the equivalent of “if he wants to fight, I’ll show him.”I can’t imagine that US companies will bring manufacturing back to the states. It would be far too expensive for them to have to build a manufacturing economy from the ground up. It’s much easier for them to pass the tarrifs along to the customer or move the manufacturing to another country without tarrifs – India comes to mind.
Plus, they may hold out for a few years in hopes of a change in US government that would be more in line with what was done in the past supporting large corporations.@retrotreasureswv but don’t the Chinese own a huge portion of the US national debt? What stops them from calling in that debt in order to save their own economy?
None of this is simple and straightforward and I imagine there will be lots of repercussions that will be teased apart by future generations.Through all the talks of tariffs and things like that, I’ve had the thought in the back of my mind that this may be good for all of us who resell. This will make us even more competitive with the “new items” market.
@SilverFoxFinds – that’s an interesting idea. Working with the local estate sale companies to take all their low end donations rather than having them thrown in the landfill. It could save them the landfill fees and the seller would get free or very inexpensive inventory. Hmmm… I like that.
You know what was amazing? When I quit my horrible office job, I stopped getting daily migraines. Who knew that no more stressful job would mean no more pain so bad it would sometimes make me vomit?
I knew it was time to quit when I was given an impossible task to do, on top of my regular job, and was not given any assistance. And when I say impossible task, there is a whole industry of contractors devoted to doing the impossible task or, if a company decided not to hire out the task, there would be a large team consisting mostly of senior management who was put in charge. This was not a task for one person in middle management who had no authority to make changes and already had a full workload. I decided that I could either make myself miserable trying, and probably failing, to do the task or I could tell my boss that I was done.
Guess what they did after I quit? Hired a contractor to do the impossible task and created a team of senior management to work with the contractor.
@Amatino – and I get to decide the sale price of the item.
I have a pair of brass seashell bookends listed. They aren’t getting a lot of action either.
Haunted Clown- perfect for Halloween.
I was scrolling through Instagram this morning and checking out all the Poshmark sellers (this is how I learn different tips and tricks as well as what they are selling) and someone suggested making offers to likers as soon as possible after noticing that they liked your item.
Obviously you aren’t going to sit and F5 your news feed but if you notice likes on an item, you might want to send those out immediately rather than waiting to them all at one time. I think it’s because the person is more likely to still be on the app and it encourages them to buy before they’ve had a chance to think about it and decide against it.
It’s the exact opposite advice that all financial people give – if you want to buy something, wait 24 hours and you’ll probably find that you don’t actually want it after all.Thought I would share with the group. I have no idea if it works but that and $5 will buy you a pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks.
I think you can make offers on just one bundle item. I’m not really sure. But if it means you sell something, go for it.
I have noticed that other people have notifications in the top left corner of their closet that says something about % off bundles of ___ or more.App Notifications – you can customize the push notifications you receive from the Ebay app. I got irritated about the same messages so I went in to Setting and then Notifications. Go through all of the options so that you can turn off anything you don’t want.
Now if I could just get Poshmark to stop sending notifications for all the stages of item delivery. Sadly, I don’t think you can turn those off.
@T-Satt – you can mark the item “not for sale”. Go in to edit the listing and at the very bottom there is a drop down box – for sale and Not for sale. Your item stays active in your closet but is not available for purchase.
Hahahahaha! I know a bunch of old men in South Carolina who would be happy to tell you whatever you want to hear if it means you’ll buy their stuff.
Let’s see…
Homesewn YSL Minidress Capelet sleeves Logo
Make sure you get good pictures of the inside and the zipper.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it’s real YSL fabric due to the logo being reversed. Plus, I wonder how many people had home sergers back in the 70s and 80s. Do you think it might be more recent but done in a vintage style? -
