You know what? Re the sprints, let’s go! I just had to rummage for a sold item in my shed and I hate hate HATE the piles of stuff in there not yet listed. I hate having to step over and around things because they’re piled, not sorted.
If Wednesday doesn’t work for you, let’s pick another day. Monday and ….? Two two-hour sprints per week.
And this week’s challenge? I’m going to double my numbers this week. Minimum 20 items listed.
I’m done! So done! Either I list this stuff or I just pile the lot in my car and go to Goodwill!
Hey VT. Well done, you!
I didn’t complete a sprint or my challenge. It was a total bust week for me. I’m still struggling with my back, I had a huge order to pack, and a run into the country to take collect a sewing machine. I also worked on financials, because I took an extension and now have to get all my taxes ready for October. Erk! I just totally lost all motivation for eBay this week, which is odd, considering I had a big sale go through. 🙁
I’ll take my penalty.
Congrats, you two.
It’s a bust for me. Got a few drafts up, but nothing listed. I’ve lost my bay-jo.
I had a huge order to pack up. That’s huge as in a large item, not a large number of items. It weighed 77LB before I added an single bit of packaging and needed special packing supplies to protect the glass. Took a day and a half to get finished, dropped it at FedEx and was delivered to the buyer the next day. Wait, what? Seriously impressive timing, but I’m waiting to see if they accidentally upgraded my order to Overnight because the guy in the store before me was shipping overnight. The invoice will tell.
Had a drive in the country to go pick up a vintage sewing machine for the hubs. Cute machine but zero parts available for it, so I’m not sure how we’re going to get it working. And did paperwork for taxes because tax deadline is a scary six weeks away! But yeah, no listings done. 🙁
LOL Retro! 😀
Actually, when I dug deeper, I found out these folks aren’t new. They’ve been around for a while. They’re obviously successful at it. They started as a plus size specialty supplier and now offer most sizes.
And they’re introducing the concept to retailers
Thanks for these, Sharyn. Apart from the side plank, these are all exercises that MY chiro gave me too! 😀 😀 😀 😀
I do a plank sequence, but I have it in my strength training routine, not my stretching routine. Interesting that your chiro reckons it’s a stretch. Also, on the doorway stretch, I was warned to keep my elbow bent so that my arm is kinda at a 90-degree angle, but not quite. Apparently how high you place your elbow affects what part of you is being stretched. I was skeptical, so I tried it with my elbow at different heights and was quite amazed at the difference!
Howdy Texas! Yeee-haw!
I like your user name. Did you see the movie Short Circuit? Such a fun romp. LOL
08/19/2019 at 10:16 pm in reply to: How to Remove Old Dried Masking Tape from Painted Enamel? #66609Ok, so Klean Strip Adhesive Remover actually worked! It cost a whopping $7.45 for a quart and, after weeks of working on this machine, removed the gunk in seconds. Jaw is bruised from hitting the table! I used a Q-tip on a tiny section to test if it destroyed the finish, and it didn’t. The decals are intact too. I only applied it for a few seconds, then washed it off immediately as I was terrified it would damage the japanning or the decals, so I don’t know if it could be left on for several minutes. The tin says good for metal, wood, and masonry.
Woot!

Sharyn, yes please!
My chiropractor was a freaking genius… until he was rude enough to retire without asking my permission, and the other ones I’ve visited so far are just a Liability Lawsuit waiting to happen. I have some serious hardware in my neck due to a violent home invasion, and I can’t have the wrack-and-crack treatment. Try telling these quacks that! One guy actually argued with me, vehemently, that I was not “feeling pain” but it was “the tense muscles releasing” causing “some discomfort”. And this AFTER actually SHOWING him my x-rays!

LOL. Google Translate is your friend! 😀
I even use Translate when I meet up in person. Speak my sentence into the mic-operated input, and it says the Spanish. Let them speak into it with Spanish and it translates for me into English (no hablo muy bien Espanol!) Translate is kinda clunky, but it def works for me IRL
VT, your “problem” is my dream-come-true! I would just love to be able to sell so much that I can’t keep my listings up to the number! Hope that makes you feel better. 😀
Okay, one 2-hour listing sprint this week. If you like, we can make it just that – one sprint. Any day of the week that works for you, and you must report back at the end of the week as normal, with the sprint information in your report. That way we can fit it into our schedule/back pain as it best works this week. Then, next week, we’ll choose a day for future sprints. I vote mid-week! If we do a sprint on Wednesday, it might just be the kick in the keister we need for listing for the rest of the week AND it gives us Monday and Tuesday to clean/prep/research so that we can really kick asp and take names!

And… wow! I wish we could pay a handyman $30 per hour! In Corpus Christi we get nailed a whopping $75 per hour on our rentals!
I spent pretty much the entire week on my back. I don’t know how, but I put it out this week and could barely walk, so would get up every now and then to do an invoice for the hubs, or to move to lie on the floor or couch, in an effort to find a position that wasn’t excruciating. This is the first time I’ve ever had my back go out on me (Hubs had had it a few times) and, please God, may it be the last!
Now, it would be grand to tell you I struggled up at the last minute to achieve my listing goals in a last minute listing sprint, but I didn’t. Saturday we spent the day in ICU with a very close family friend. Oddly, they had a recliner in the ICU unit, so I sat in that most of the day. Yesterday I did get up with the intention of listing, but I hadn’t realized before how much jumping up and down I do to take photos. Once I realized, I decided I’d rather take on a new penalty from VT than even try. So I had a zero listing week, for the first time in ages. Such a disappointment!
VT – hope you had a good weekend and are pumped for a new week. Let’s pick a Sprint day, per the DP Challenge thread.
VL – would love to! We’ve just had some huge outlays, and funds are a little lower than we’d like, so it will have to be a future plan. Will let you know.
ChristineR – we miss you! So glad you’re still checking in occasionally. Going to pencil So Cal into my Trash Elf Tour and really do the rounds! LOL
Sharyn – wishing you lots of patience and resilience with the move and change and upheaval!
Spreadsheet updated. Vintage Lacy blows us away. Again! I’m beginning to think the rest of us should all gang up and do a group visit to Oregon to see how the heck you do it! 😀
Totally bombed out this week. I spent the entire week on my back – and I don’t want to do it again EVER! Read all about it in the Listing Challenge, so that I don’t duplicate it.
Hmmm… we both seem to have a challenge motivating ourselves, even with the motivation of the Challenge! Ha! I try to get around it by posting the mini-challenges occasionally, but if I do that too often, it will lose it’s novelty and thus its effectiveness.
Perhaps, if you have a Listing Sprint day, that would help? If WE have a listing sprint day, I should say. We MUST have one day where we do a listing sprint. That must be a set time (30 minutes? 2 hours?) where we have to list like crazy and then report back on how many we managed. Like a Step 4 Challenge specifically within the 8 steps we’re currently working on. What do you think?
(BTW – have you noticed how wonderfully we’re doing on Step 8?) 😀
