I think if a seller is in the beginning stages or even is seeing some stagnation in their store and is trying to build: 1.the store, 2. the number of sales, 3. revenue, 4. their standard for what they will and won’t sell (quality vs. quantity, time investment, price value) and 4. feedback, small value items can be of benefit and buying items without knowing their exact value can be of benefit. When buying items without knowing their value, paying attention to their quality can be extremely important. A low value item with good quality is better than a high value item with questionable quality.
The important part is to be clear on the purpose and goal and to be clear about small value items. Small value items can help move sales, can help create followers, can help bring positive feedback and build the seller’s reputation, can help bring some income, and can provide some perspective on one’s process, focus, and level of investment (how much time and energy one wishes to put into eBay).
There are big sellers with high value items and a large inventory, but even they had to start some where and had to go through some kind of learning process. They may have started with a certain educational path that made them more knowledgeable about certain categories of items, or acquired a broad knowledge base from life experiences, or they may have a business background. I think the key is being realistic about what works for you, building your inventory and listings, and trying to remain focused on learning from others and gathering item ideas instead of focused on the $500, $1000, $2000 dollar sale.
SL has a bevy of learning opportunities available. SL sellers have much to teach. It is important to keep focused on taking the time to sell and create what works for you while also staying open to what else there is to learn. This will help you the seller and your store/business to grow. In addition, when scavenging try to find one new thing which may lead to finding 2 or three because of having taken the time to learn about different items and their values.

From what I have seen, nothing comes free with eBay. “Benefits” come and go with eBay. For example, the Seller’s Hub used to be for those with stores. If I recall correctly, it is now for all seller’s. Promoting our items should be something that happens automatically but instead they found a way to make more money from sellers by having promoted listings which sellers have to pay an extra percentage for in order to use. We used to have a choice as to how to have a sale, we are now forced to do Cross Promotions because it is the only choice given. If you read it closely, it is to eBay’s benefit and gives them a hand in how the sale pricing will play out. It also gives them a right to have a say about shipping costs. They intentionally do not alert a seller that they are entering into a Cross Promotions contract until the end in a link that says terms and conditions which leads to a document when clicked on and is placed right next to the launch button.
Just as the this new tool will provide merchants and marketplaces key data that may boost their business, sales, revenue etc. it will provide eBay with knowledge about its platform and business. As we all know from being sellers, knowledge about your business and the marketplace is powerful.
Bob Kupbens, Vice President of B2C Selling at eBay, says, “We are committed to being the best partner to our sellers as we look to create the most powerful selling platform. The integration of Terapeak’s functionalities into Seller Hub—from sales history and performance enhancement opportunities to price guidance and comparisons—will continue to help eBay’s merchants scale their businesses on eBay.” https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/eBay-Signs-Agreement-to-Acquire-Terapeak/ba-p/27858862
Ebay is competing with Amazon, we all have seen what has been happening with Amazon (and how it has effected the sellers) as they push for dominance in e-business.
It appears that the great value of the book will be the fact that it came from the Ralph Lauren Library
I was not able to find exactly what you are looking for, but apparently the art on the tile is known as a still life. Due to the use of blue coloring, it may be Greek in nature. Yes, E.C. stands for European Community which is now called European Union. Because it was made when using E.C., you may want to look under European community. What is the tile on – wood?

Well, I guess the ER is as good a place as any to learn new things about the Ebay app. LOL!
Congrats on your progress.
Take care of yourself while powering through ebay.
No, I went to your store.

All the way down at the bottom on the left side, you have a Store Newsletter banner and a note about receiving an email newsletter.
Store Newsletter!
Add my Store to your Favorites and receive my email newsletters about new items and special promotions!
General InterestWhen I did a search using Internet explorer simply typing in tonis treasure trove, yours came up first. When I did the same in Firefox, the other one came up first, second, third. That means its a browser programming thing. I agree with theMezz, ebay is very exact when you are choosing your name. When you set it up, if the one with the apostrophe was already in place, it probably found the next closest version which is considered to be its own ID/separate name.
I see you have a newsletter. If you are going to change your name, you may want to do it over a 3 to 6 month period. Announce it in your newsletter. Announce it on your page in someway. Have a date when you will make the change. This will allow any of your followers and/or people who get your newsletter to expect the change. People don’t tend to search for stores on ebay unless they know about it, so I don’t think it is as much of an immediate concern as it seems that it might be. If you want to attract more shoppers, see if you can list some items that have well known names which will attract shoppers and possibly even followers.
I would offer that you not change your name without first calling ebay. Changing your name could cost you findability and sales. That may not be good right now during the holiday season. On another note, even though people don’t necessarily search by store name, if they were going to they would probably find yours because apostrophies don’t tend to be included in searches. What was your experience when searching for your store? What came up first?
I just want to offer that learning to do this selling thing is a process. Getting the big costly lessons out of the way up front can be a good thing. In addition, by asking questions, you will learn a heck of a lot and be ready for anything down the line. Just think, if you can handle these big pieces which take so much time, consideration, effort, energy, and sometimes money, what can’t you handle as a seller? Try not to consider it a loss but instead a financial and energy investment in yourself.
On another note, because you are new, you may want to put the handling fee in your total price so as not to detract buyers due to extra costs.
12/09/2017 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Photo slides of people… can they be sold if they are not your photos? #28444I would offer to consider as to whether you would want a picture of you or someone close to you wearing a bikini or skimpy bathing suit sold online. What if those pictures where taken when pictures were just keepsakes? What if the people in the pictures would not want to be put on the internet wearing a bikini because the pictures were meant to just mark a moment in time?

If you could share a picture of the art against a white background, it would be easier to search for.
That is my biggest question. How do you protect against scammers? How do you protect against what we have seen in SL with someone purchasing it and then saying something is wrong and sending back something totally different?
