Hilarious. I too laughed when the amazon driver just put their box inside a new box labeled eBay.
Are these OK to post on Ebay? They are so strict with medical or really quasi medal equipment lately.
I too decline an offer less than 50 % of the listed price. Not sure how I came up with that but it works. I also don’t like to get into haggling over pennies on low price items. Some people seem to like to do that. I also notice when I write on a counter offer “last offer” people still counter it. In other words, they don’t read the notes.
If you are worried about hurting her feelings by saying no, you may want to just take it and then donate it to a charity or something if you are feeling generous. Often when people lose a relative part of the grieving process seems to be getting rid of their things. When my grandfather died, my grandmother was very eager to get rid of all of his stuff (clothes, etc) but wanted them to go to family. Almost none of it was anything anyone wanted (e.g. his plaid golf pants from the 50s) and the family could see it was going to be difficult for her as long as the stuff was around, so we took a lot of it and gave it to thrift stores just to help her complete the process.
I always liked Acid washed jeans. I was mad when they stopped making them. But I also think mullets can look cool, so probably don’t listen to me.
10/09/2020 at 3:36 pm in reply to: Customer Left a Neutral, Saying they ordered something from me that I dont sell #82301I had someone leave me negative feedback for the wrong item (meaning, something else they bought from someone else). I contacted them and pointed out their mistake. They said they would correct it, then did not, so I contacted ebay and they removed it. Annoying. Definitely banned the person after that– if someone is that disorganized you can’t do business with them.
10/06/2020 at 3:24 pm in reply to: Buyer Bought From Me to Fulfill Their Amazon Order Now Asking for Refund #82217Always weird when people over-share about why they need something. I can’t imagine a re-seller who doesn’t keep the fact they are reselling to themselves, given what we’ve talked about on here seeing the apparent hostility towards us 🙂
I sell some law enforcement stuff. I think you probably should let it go because badges are one thing they don’t mess around with. The closest thing you are allowed to sell are lapel pins that look like mini badges (like 1″) or old west style reproductions. I have noticed some sellers of law enforcement stuff put a note in their description that it is not a law enforcement item but a toy or souvenir.
Hi there, glad to see a Michigander on here! 🙂
All sorts of strange people out there (que up the Doors “People are strange”). Definitely block them. You can be assured that if you do actually sell something to them, the drama won’t stop. Maybe I am being a jerk, but if I get wind that anyone is not mentally playing with a full deck, or unreasonable, I block them. The majority of the time, I end up with them returning the item, filing a case, or making some issue out of it (them wanting to enter into a fruitless discussion about something), it just isn’t worth the money. I figure as sellers we have very little way of knowing if a buyer is a reasonable/sane person, so it helps business wise to just avoid anyone who might be nutty. Again, maybe that is jerky, but it keeps the drama down.
I don’t know what it is, but I’d recommend posting it on ebay with a qualitative description (tan military US patch palm tree) or something, put the price high, and ask in the description for anyone who is aware of what unit it is to contact you. Military folks are very helpful and I garuntee within a day or two you’ll know! I have done this numerous times.
Its good to address early and not wait as others have suggested. I have run a couple businesses over the years with up to 25 employees, and my earnest advice is to check your states labor laws. Obviously this is independent contractor stuff, but before you take a hard line and tell them you won’t pay for their lunch, you should check it out. There are states that require you to offer a lunch break if they work more than 4 hours. Young people can get very upset when you tell them they can’t do something.
I don’t, just not my thing. I have a relative that does Etsy and sells almost everything via social media listings and does great with it. To each their own!
Welcome. I’m a retired PA-C also from CA 🙂 Ebaying is So much easier than working in the hospital, right?
09/03/2020 at 3:25 pm in reply to: Any luck with asking eBay to step in with an INAD under free returns? #81261The “disagree with return reason” is a report to ebay about buyer (mis)conduct. Ebay then probably does approximately nothing about it and it doesn’t benefit you in any way.
