@MickDog:
I had and have some illusive logos myself. Sometimes i can find one on google or bing images. I also try searching tineye.com and ebay itself. Even had a serious eBay buyer help me with one item that was listed, but incorrect.what do you suppose is the best way to solicit help from the eBay community? List an item and just hope some help?

You may have a problem with this return and refund. Check this other recent thread on SL. See the post by @retro-treasures-wv and my subsequent post there. Link.I have a Basic store and a second selling account with no store, and did not get that email. Perhaps it was just for Anchors only. It sounds like eBay may be re-acting to the fact that a lot of stores are being downgraded right now. And trying to slow that flow.
Keep in mind that there is nothing really ‘permanent’ on eBay. They can pretty much reconsider all the free listings at any time. Not to mention changing other things such as store subscription prices and details.
Only a handful of my items are collectibles and my listing count grew while eBay was giving all the free pandemic listings. I have about 600 listings right now, and growing. So my problem differs. I may have to upgrade my store to Premium or perhaps upgrade my second selling account to have a store. (It would be less expensive to have 2 Basic stores.)

It’s true that eBay hides buyer email addresses. I think they are only on the orders page and then for only 14 days and disappear after that. Some sellers (and software packages like Sixbit) capture or download the email addresses during this period.There is also a trick to obtain the buyer’s paypal address. Use the email that paypal sent you regarding the funds and click reply-to-all in your email client. This will show the email address.
Perhaps you have a friend that can send/loan you some funds from their Paypal account. If they have funds in their Paypal, you will have immediate access to this when it hits your account. Not sure what happens if they fund it from a credit card or their bank account.
We all need to be aware of this predicament. eBay switched my main selling account on 7/24, so same thing could happen to me. Thanks for the tip and I hope the 2nd return works out better for you.

If you have not opened the package, and it was sent via First Class mail or Priority mail, you can mark it as “Refused – Return to Sender” and give it back to USPS for free return to sender.
Seems like that note appears every time a sale comes in now that I am in managed payments too. eBay is telling me to ship. So it seems to be eBay’s way of stating that they are sitting on the money until it is time to process the payout.
07/29/2020 at 8:59 pm in reply to: Ebay First Class Shipping — Fractions of an ounce question #80160@Yorkographic: We send a lot of first class packages and with zone based postage, USPS charges quite a bit more when the package exceeds 4 ounces or 8 ounces, etc. It can be more than 50 cents.
The lowest postage is for up to 4 ounces; but even 4.0001 ounces is over 4 ounces and should go to the 8 oz rate.
@debitendcreits: The bill back that you described was discussed on this forum a couple of years ago:Customer may be rightly upset if something arrives postage due.
I’ve been fighting item specific issues for a couple of days too. I use my desktop and Sixbit; never the mobile app. It seems like categories may not all be programmed exactly the same way.
For “Brand”, the dropdown list sometimes contains “Unbranded” or it may let you enter a brand name that is not in the dropdown list.
For “Country/Region of Manufacture”, the dropdown list may contain “Unknown”.
For “California Prop 65 Warning”, I usually enter “None”.
Seems that USPS was slow thru May and improved until about July 4. This seemed to be a Covid-19 thing. But since July 4, they have been getting slower again for many of our outgoing first-class & priority items. If you watch the tracking, some packages are taking the scenic route, probably via truck. Perhaps this is from the new cost-cutting measures and Covid-19 must still have its effects.
It seems prudent to get packages to the post office earlier in the day right now.
Our regular postman never seems to scan our packages if we leave them in the mailbox. And since he comes in the afternoon, sometimes late afternoon, packages sometimes spend an extra day locally before they arrive at a sort hub.
So we have been getting scans at the post office, usually by standing in line. The packages may or may not be delivered any sooner but I prefer to have a timely acceptance scan.
Sellers: Get timely acceptance scans. Message customers with a ship notification that includes the tracking number.
Buyers: If you buy on eBay, some of your items may have guaranteed delivery. If delivery is even one day late, you can get a voucher from eBay for $5 or more. You have to request it. There is a link to click. Watch your myeBay purchase history for this. The $5 comes from eBay not the seller.
eBay finally switched the first of my 2 accounts to managed payments overnight.
There was really no major issue with SixBit. I am running the latest version. But there are a couple of items to note:
First thing to do is go to your eBay Profile configuration and check the option for Managed Payments. It was not quite that simple until I used the Profile config to sign in to eBay and re-authorize my credentials. Before that the managed payment section was grayed out.
Second, You can just leave your old Paypal settings in the Payment section in Sixbit and both Sixbit and eBay just ignore these now. I was gonna clean mine out but if you uncheck the Paypal box then you can no longer select (or deselect) the check box for “Immediate Payment Required”. Looks like Sixbit needs a little cleanup work on that. Their developers are looking into a re-working the Payments tab.
There does not seem to be any consistency with eBay.
Buyer opened a case on July 1 stating “Ordered by Mistake”. Sounded like he ordered the wrong thing.
Then, July 20, I received an email from eBay stating that I had ‘opened a case’ and asked eBay to step in. 15 minutes later, another email came in saying something like: Buyer did not send item back in time, so case was closed in my favor.
Since I did not open the case, eBay automation must have done all this. Perhaps buyer somehow closed or cancelled the return. At least it was all in my favor.
How about the She-Shed that you put up? Seems like it is used 100% for your business. If that was in 2019 there should be a lot of deductions. It is a major investment in your business. You may have to amortize some of the expense.
@Mummmers:
I think you handled this correctly so far. Do not send more than one message to the buyer. Right now you have both the item and the money.If and when they finally reply, make buyer pay again for re-shipping. Be careful and do some research before offering buyer any refund. As it may not be possible to deduct the original shipping if you try to do so via eBay.
Well I finished the registration. So the Next step is up to eBay on the Managed Payments. Seems that we should wait until eBay opts us into Managed Payments and then do the SixBit setup. If something needs to be done with active listings after that, SixBit program should make it pretty easy.
I am still w/ Paypal too and not quite there yet as eBay has not switched my accounts yet; but I use SixBit and have 2 seller accounts and asked SixBit support about this a couple of months ago.
me: Should I anticipate any issues with SixBit and managed payments?
SixBit Support: Nope, SixBit is compatible with the Managed Payments program. After getting opted in and setting up your direct deposit information on eBay for both accounts, in SixBit click File > Manage > Profile > Your Profile and check the option to Use Managed Payments (repeat this for both accounts). -
