I think people just like to see their opinion in print no matter how crappy it is.
I’m a firm believer in seat belts but when I’m roaming a neighborhood full of yard sales at 20mph I don’t bother, I disconnected the warning chime.

I line the boxes with styrofoam sheets, real thick on the bottom. I also put the speakers in a big trash bag, keeps out moisture and keeps the wood away from the coarse styrofoam.
I haven’t had any damage. I tried using FedEx and a private packaging store and both times they arrived damaged.04/26/2018 at 8:58 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Daredevil Dan stunt set, Settlers of Catan, Models & Trains, Bench vice, Post card, used Cassette tapes #38434Such variety. Nice sales.

I search google with the model number and PDF in the text box, usually get a hit.
Your experience with online auctions probably denpends a lot on where you live.
I live in a medium sized northern plains city of roughly 200k, there are many out lying small towns that have auction houses doing online actions, they set up a viewing day but I rarely go look as it’s usually a 30-40 minute drive. I know I’m taking a chance but I’m careful and so far haven’t been burned.04/13/2018 at 9:54 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Big jeans, Fire King soup bowls, Pioneer tape deck, vintage Gym bag, Red Wing bowl, What’s Your Poison glasses. #37578The wooden canoe parts came from a basement I helped clean out. I knew there wood be interest as they were made from mahogany.
I’m always looking for expensive weird stuff I may have never seen before so I have no aversion to looking stuff up at the point of sale. I’ll do it discreetly if possible, I’ve often loaded up a shopping bag at an estate or yard sale and go off in a corner to look stuff up.
If I see anyone looking at me I just shrug and say checking sizes or something. What’s the hurry?
Sell them individually, list them when you can, it’s a pipeline that will keep pumping out cash.
It sounds like those hats will retain if not increase their value over time so even if it took 2 years to list them you’re going to make a ton of money from that purchase.
I’m with you on hiring help and the extra accounting work that nobody likes to do.I’ve sent many $500 plus items (mostly stereo gear) via the Global Shipping Program with no problems.
A $700 stereo console was damaged on its way to England and eBay took care of the buyer.
Buyers with different household voltages than the US are are usually aware that a step down transformer will be necessary, they are quite easily obtained.Good work, I think you have a handle on what it takes.
