I’ve noticed as well that garage sales are being listed more on FB marketplace than CL the last couple of years. Also, Ive gone on wild goose chases following some miss placed pin locations on the CL/Yard Sale app locations, I sometimes forget to check the address listed that doesn’t match the pin location.03/21/2021 at 2:08 pm in reply to: Atomic tumblers, Marantz turntable, Micky Mouse mug, Betamax tapes, Walkman #86895
Those are some interesting sales especially that Porsche brochure packet, what a gold mine!03/11/2021 at 7:45 am in reply to: Yard Sale Treasure Map No Longer Includes Craigslist Posts #86624
Although Facebook Marketplace has started taking over for yard sale listings I will miss the Yard Sale Map app.
Get to know the auctioneers cadence and mannerisms so you’ll know when to start bidding, you want to be the last bidder, not the first.
If the auctioneer is on a stage make sure you’re near one of the helpers that call out when they see a bid. Waving your number card is a good way to catch their eye. Once the auctioneer says sold its over.02/21/2021 at 8:27 pm in reply to: FB Marketplace not telling me when I sell something that needs to ship???? #86084
I do all my FB listing on my iPad or Iphone, in those notification settings there are FB notifications with one specifically for marketplace.02/21/2021 at 8:19 pm in reply to: FB Marketplace not telling me when I sell something that needs to ship???? #86082
Yes, you get a FB message that an item has sold. Perhaps there is a setting for notifications that needs to be turned on.02/21/2021 at 12:15 pm in reply to: FB Marketplace not telling me when I sell something that needs to ship???? #86074
I believe you are paid 5 days after item is received by the buyer so as to give them time to evaluate and raise a complaint.
I’ve only sold one item via FB with shipping, other times I’ve had the buyer use paypal and bought my own shipping. They initiated contact before buying though, I’m not sure if there’s a way to list an item with shipping that you buy yourself.
Personally I think removing the background looks bad, the picture of it on a wood surface looks so much more pleasing.
Also, try an avoid having your finger in a photo, especially a closeup, it’s distracting. Call the ‘scrape’ a minor blemish.
Only use the determiner ‘an’ before words that begin with a vowel.
I ship large items all the time, Fedex has always been cheapest with the ebay discount.02/12/2021 at 1:28 pm in reply to: Copper fittings, Levi’s trucker jacket, Betamax tapes, Philco clock radio #85866
Too bad I don’t still live in Sussex county, I’d help you out with that stereo.
I see that as well, my only field use is garage and estate sales.
I am of the mind that my phone is the most important piece of equipment for my ebay business so I get a new iPhone every few years, always a better camera than the last model and better security.
I’ve had an XS for a couple years now and am considering a 12. A $1000 for the core piece of my online business makes sense to me.02/12/2021 at 10:29 am in reply to: Copper fittings, Levi’s trucker jacket, Betamax tapes, Philco clock radio #85859
Yes, they slowed somewhat, I also haven’t been recording repeats or uninteresting minor sales.02/12/2021 at 10:19 am in reply to: Copper fittings, Levi’s trucker jacket, Betamax tapes, Philco clock radio #85857
That was a really cool Zenith clock radio model I have not seen before, they’re usually flip number, probably old grease gumming up the rolling numbers
I noticed something a little different today; I normally offer parcel select as the first option because it looks cheaper for the customer but I will then ship Priority as its cheaper for me than Parcel, today Priority was a few cents more than Parcel. Not sure if its related but wondering if anyone else has notice this.
