I sometimes think I live in the land of dummies, it’s just the typical American attitude of buy buy, throw throw.
It still takes work but it’s hard not to find treasures around here.I should open my home for Scavengers to stay and explore the garage sale scene here in SE So Dak. Start a scavenger tour company.

I like to type out “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” plus all the numbers and characters to show in a photo.

Big bulky items are not a problem if you plan for them. Big boxes, some kind of insulating foam wrap and re-enforced corner pieces will protect from the usual carrier handling. You can only get a negative if your a seller, hopefully they’re better at buying.
Comparatively, I’m a low volume seller but I haven’t noticed an unusual slow down.
There could be all sorts of factors contributing to what you’re seeing in your store sales, thrift stores do a lot of 1/2 price sales these days and garage sale season is in full swing.
It’s only Wednesday, perhaps it’s a temporary anomoly.06/19/2018 at 7:50 pm in reply to: Celeb Super-Fan box of stuff…list individually or as a lot? #42880Jim Nabors was on the early episodes of The Andy Griffths Show as Gomer Pyle then starred in a spin off called Gomer Pyle USMC.
By the late seventies he was no longer an A list celebrity and any fan was a welcome fan.
He was also known for his baritone singing voice which was in complete contrast to his speaking voice.I’m definately in the “Sweet Spot” camp.
I don’t want an empire, I want to pay my bills.
I don’t want to work my ass off until I retire, my goal is to keep doing this work/lifestyle until I’m physically/mentally unable.
I enjoy working about 4 hours a day and then doing whatever intrigues me at the moment or dropping everything and go somewhere.
I’ve built a nice home, work environment, it doesn’t feel like a job, it’s my life.06/14/2018 at 12:54 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Trucker hats, Stereo equipment, Old mechanics creeper, Omemee tea cup, Vintage Canister Set, Water blaster #42505While waiting for them to decide how fast to ship it the husband found one locally, it sold again a few days later.`

Probably because there are different carrier options and a local pick up option.
My kit has an 8-Track and a Reel tape, I must be older.
I have an inch left in the bottle of olive oil I have in my cupboard. The HyVee grocery store is 2 minutes away. If the zombies attack I think I can outrun them to get some more. I’ve watched all the episodes of Walking Dead so I’m prepared.
First, I like eBay, I makes lots of money without working much but eBay is dumb.
They never get updates correct, the mobile apps are different depending on platform and listing glitches occur all the time.
Customer service is outsourced and no one knows the rules (except most sellers). They really come off as a bunch of Silicon Valley baffoons. Take their radio host, Griff didn’t even sell anything until a few years ago and it’s just a few men’s dress shirts yet he’s the voice of authority for eBay sellers. I think he learns more than anyone listening.
As for returns, in the eyes of a buyer returns are a negative, why keep shouting about returns, buyers don’t want to think about that unless they have to.
We used to think of eBay like a mall and we are just renting space, I never heard of a mall where management dictated how you deal with customer returns, why doesn’t ebay stay out of the return management, let sellers manage their own stores how they wish, bad sellers will always get weeded out.
They aren’t Amazon and never will be as Amazon is perceived as an online store, eBay is a collection of online stores and individual sellers and they do auctions.
I appreciate all the feedback everyone is giving on the free returns, I never jump in on stuff, I like to evaluate it first and as someone else mentioned, if you’re selling weird one off types of items, do good listings, people will buy regardless of return policies.Doesn’t work on my iPad using Safari.
