Take the cover off the receiver and let it sit in the sun for a few hours.
If that doesn’t work don’t be afraid of cleaning the interior with vinegar water solution, just make sure it’s completely dry before plugging it in.
$500 for trash?
Pocket that cash.07/06/2020 at 5:49 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 470: How Would You Start Your Business Today? #79169Concerning other ‘New’ platforms and making it easy for sellers.
I’ve been experimenting with buying items off of Mercari.
A very disappointing experience, most sellers are complete amateurs, bad photos, little to no descriptions, poor communications, terrible shipping practices.Although I’ve been able to procure a few items and make money reselling on eBay I can’t see how this company will survive.
I’ve purchased items only to have them canceled as no longer available, last week I bought an 8-Track Car player as not working with no guarantee for $12 plus another $13 for shipping, I wrote the seller to encourage proper packaging as I’ve had items purchased on Mercari just stuffed into a box with no packing materials, the seller wrote back no problem, a day later he cancelled the sale and disappeared off the site, the player was worth perhaps $300-$400 once refurbished.Although Mercari is good about reimbursement I have not had a good buying experience.
eBay kind of weeds out the amateurs with their requirements to sell so it makes it a better platform for both buyers and sellers.07/06/2020 at 1:20 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 470: How Would You Start Your Business Today? #79146U Haul is my go to when I don’t have the right size box.
I usually won’t list something unless I have a box for it but sometimes that box will get used for something else.
I sold a 48” by 24” painting this week and was able to buy a large mirror box for $4.99, had to cut it down a bit but it was the perfect size otherwise.Shipping weird size stuff requires a messy area of packing materials and a large supply of boxes.
Come on out to South Dakota, lots and lots of open territory.
You can get quite a few hours away from anything resembling urban.

You are correct, it has a large plastic board on a turntable.Get the buyer on the phone and walk through the hook up process, his signal source could be faulty.
If it’s putting out on both channels perhaps the display is malfunctioning, th se EQs are fairly simple but a bad circuit board can be the culprit.
I’ve found FedEx denies all claims 3 times before you can get a refund even if they do the packing.Hey Scott, thanks for the information you’ve provided about living in Mérid.
I’ve often considered retiring to central or South America, I’ve been to Uruguay and Argentina and just love the people and culture.
I may look into Mérida further, sounds like you have a good thing going.
I’m about 8 years out from retiring if I wait until age 70.
Looks like I could live comfortably on SS alone.06/11/2020 at 1:25 pm in reply to: Trippensee planetarium, Atomic floor lamp, Polaris gun boot, hats, Linemans belt #78325Thanks. It was tough to let that one go but I have way too many lamps in my home.

I didn’t even remember that I had 2 Peterbilt hats listed.
Good catch.Regarding Feedback, I’ve enjoyed having no negatives for the last 4 years or so, I did receive a neutral last week but it was really a review of the book I sold, nothing to do with condition or any other complaint, “Disappointed most of the pictures were black and white.” What the hell.
I do go back and forth on its relevance.
I will sometimes get a message saying they bought an item because of my feedback where buyers have made a compliments on my packaging.
I think that if it went away I would just get a message asking about my competence in packaging. I do that when buying a delicate items.
The FB system is also screwy lately, I just received 4 positive Feedbacks and my number only went up by one and these aren’t repeat customers.05/28/2020 at 7:12 am in reply to: Photos taken in eBay App suddenly also going to phone storage and filling it up #77870I noticed that last week, can’t figure out any way to turn it off in settings.
Just another daily clean up chore to do.I’ve been going through this with a customer in the UK, we’ve agreed on the price of $150 on an 8lbs item. I’ve switched shipping to eBay International Delivery service which is a little cheaper than GSP but now he’s asked no me to forge a smaller selling price to reduce the duties, I told I don’t even see that part of the postage as I will be mailing it to eBay’s warehouse. So now he wants me to find a courier and write in a false amount on the form.
I’ve gone silent.05/18/2020 at 7:13 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 463: The Painful Gaze Of A Boss vs The Freedom To Do What I Want #77497I wonder if you could argue that shipping supplies are part of the purchase price and therefore taxed upon purchase of the item.
