Love your store name and the reason behind it.
Welcome!Keep in mind that even if you successfully challenge an INAD, it will still count as an INAD in your service metrics. So the best you can achieve by challenging an INAD is to not be out shipping costs.
Good that you spotted that!
Sharyn, that is a gorgeous tablecloth! Made of linen from the Order of Lenin Linen Factory in Orshan (or Orshansk). Hey – it’s Lenin linen! lol
Ooh – you live in town called Kennett Square! Is the Oneida “Kennett Square” flatware pattern named after your town? Do lots of people there use this pattern? 🙂
It’s only b/c of reselling that I have any knowledge at all about flatware pattern names….
Thanks for confirming it’s not just me, joeMEZZ.
I played around it a bit more and it looks to me like they are *partially* bringing back functionality that there used to be on the old shipping page where it would restrict the options it showed you according to the package measurements you had entered. So if you had put in 12x12x12, it would not show PFRE as an option, b/c that’s much smaller. While there’s some logic to that approach, the fact is that many items can be folded or bent into different sizes, so it’s best to show all sizes, which they eventually started to do. SO, now on this new page, when I changed the dimensions of my package from 12x12x12 to 5″x5″x1″, it did show me PFRE as an option, BUT, it did not show me Medium Flat Rate Box, which I wanted to see and which this item would fit into. Maybe there’s some logic in the code that says that if it fits in a PFRE, why would anyone ever choose Medium Flat Rate Box? Again, that makes some sense, but in reality it works best to just show all options.
Or maybe it’s just a weird bug.
Here’s a screenshot to give you a better idea of what I’m talking about
Even after I click on “compare all services”, it only shows these 4 options. Used to show a LOT more.
Liz, you are hilarious!
Huh. This made me realize that I have no recollection of ever receiving any commercial item as a present from my grandmother for any holiday, ever. Of course there was LOTS of cooking and baking for us grandkids, but never a wrapped present that was purchased somewhere. And I adored my grandmother and never felt slighted in any way by this lack of presents. This is not really relevant to reselling, but it’s just funny that I never ever realized this or thought about it until reading this thread, now in my 40s. Just never crossed my mind. So I guess this means that when I end up getting one of those grandma requests, I will not be moved. As it is, my finicky/OCD/engineer self always wants to respond to the “fixed income” pleas by saying “What does “fixed income” have to do with anything? You could have a fixed income of $10k per month!”
I love this thread. Definitely a “stand around the water cooler” conversation. 🙂
“8. State sales tax requirement update
–We knew this was happening. Again, good for eBay. They’re handling collecting and remitting all the different taxes and sellers dont have to do anything. Cool”Agreed. I just wish they would also handle sales tax collection and payments for in-state sales. I mean, as long as they are going to the trouble of implementing everything for out of state sales, it shouldn’t be too hard to add this on. I’m guessing that the biggest block to doing this is actually the state laws – states may be adding new provisions for taxing out-of-state purchases, but haven’t updated the rules for in-state sales tax processes, so we have to continue doing it the same old way.
I’m whining about this b/c I’ve only just now gotten around to starting the process of registering with my state for collecting and remitting sales tax, and I’m not looking forward to the extra work. But probably once I’ve got the process all figured out, it won’t be such a big deal.

That’s really encouraging to hear that you are having success on Poshmark via List It and Forget It. That brings me a few tiny steps closer to wanting to try it out, bc I just don’t see myself doing any of the sharing work, at least not consistently. Just don’t have it in me.T-Satt, Thanks for sharing your approach as well. I’m guessing if you do the work, you probably get more benefit than if you don’t. Something for me to keep in mind if I ever get started and posh and want to get into it as much as ebay.

How much time do you spend on the social media “work” of poshmark – having to share and like lots of items?02/25/2019 at 11:49 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 400: Tax Season Advice for Newbies from Strangers On The Internet #57684T-Satt,
And there are no listing fees on Poshmark, is that correct? That’s another little bit of savings that helps make the Poshmark 20% not quite as high as it sounds.02/25/2019 at 11:43 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 400: Tax Season Advice for Newbies from Strangers On The Internet #57683T-Satt,
Congrats on the significant positive price variance – consistent every week. Volume variance is great, too, but to me that translates to more stuff to ship = work. But getting your prices up – that is everyone’s goal and you are rocking it. Way to go.You can use USPS First Class for things under one pound (and not super large), and Priority for things over a pound. I use Parcel Select only for very large items, when Priority is way too expensive. Do you check the shipping calculator when you are listing to see the costs of various options?
