I don’t know if you really have a leg to stand on. the reason I say this, is that the buyer paid for USPS Parcel Select and you shipped it Fedex Smartpost. Technically you changed the method of shipping and the buyer can say that this resulted in the package being delayed. I hope I’m wrong.
I’d agree with the others and say to call Ebay and try to get the negative removed. They may suggest reaching out to the buyer.. refunding etc. I don’t know if I’d do that with this guy. It doesn’t look like he’d be willing to change the feedback anyway.
I never think about flat rate boxes either for shoes. I just sent a pair cross country that I should have out in a flat rate box. Can you fit a size 13 in the medium box?
Anyway, good luck with it and keep us posted.
There’s a Salvation Army on the other side of the hill, 4310 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505.
This is a very expensive thrift store, but I know you deal with a lot more high end items and clothing than I do. You may want to check it out.
I usually just follow the solds and list where they do. You are on the right track with the electronics manuals. I think the causal buyer will find it there. The determined buyer is going to run a search and find it wherever it is.
Good Luck.
I’d hit the estate sales in Palos Verdes first. There’s a fair amount of money up there.
I think the Long Beach antique mall is closed (Out of Business) .. on PCH. The St. Vincent DePaul and Out of the Closet thrifts are fairly close to each other on PCH in Long Beach. They get a lot of traffic, but may be worth a look.
Don’t forget to check Craiglist for the Rummage sales and Community yard sales.
I just got burned by Smart Post on a pair of shoes. They’re going across the country, so USPS Priority won’t save me. It’s not a lot of money, but I’m considering taking out Smartpost as an option until this is resolved.
Well I thought about and and called Ebay.. after speaking to three different people, the sale was cancelled. Hopefully, that’s the end of it.
By the way, after speaking with each rep, they had me wait while they entered comments in the computer.. Maybe things are changing.
01/25/2018 at 7:09 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Mushroom mugs, Car books, Lineman belt, Sansui amp, Columbia snow shoes, Native Barbie, Gun case #31314Last month I bought a non running motorcycle for $150. I’m keeping a bunch of the parts for myself, but many I’ve sold.
So far have $534.47 in sales from this.
I found this in the free section on Craiglsist. I took a best offer of $100 plus shipping.
Cool Alfa Romeo belt Buckle.. paid $1.00 Sold $29.99..
This kind of stuff is so much for interesting to me than books or hats, which I tend to sell more.
Now I wish I had told him exactly why I blocked him. He managed to buy it from another account for full price.
Should I just send it and go silent? Should I communicate first, or should I find a way to cancel the sale.?
I’m guessing I’ll just send it.. Any ideas?
01/23/2018 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 344: Decluttering and Auction Cravings #31190I had guessed that USPS stopped making the 15 X 12 X 12 SHIPPING boxes because people were using them as free storage containers and not for shipping… I guess we’ll never know..
I often more people over to Priority mail, even if they paid for Smartpost, as long as the actual cost to me is close. The Post Office is closer to me than Fedex and I don’t have to worry about surprises. Also I can use free Priority boxes.
The buyers are pretty happy too. It gets to them a lot faster.
When the buyer is on the other side of the country, I have no choice and have to send it the method they paid for.
I thought about doing just that.. and maybe I should have. I also thought about reducing the shorts to $9.99.. now that he’s blocked…
Instead I sent this..:
“While I appreciate your interest in my item and the kind message, I don’t feel this pair of shorts is going to meet your needs, otherwise, I would have extended an offer.
Good luck with your search.”
Whether he figures it out or not is up to him.
Thanks
I’m selling a pair of hiking shorts for $19.99 plus $7.25 shipping…
I received this message from a buyer.. “I’m trying to get my self to purchase these bad boy shorts but I just can’t handle the shipping fee…if it were 2 or 3 bucks lower like the whole ball of wax for 25 I would…so what are you gonna do about it”
I’m just about to send the offer for $17.75 when I decide to check his feedback. 0f the last 7 Feedbacks he left, 3 were neutrals with smart remarks about price and shipping.
BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK.. Done.. I feel like a dodged a bullet.
I printed labels Saturday night. The increase was announced a while back, so I didn’t want to get caught in the lurch.
01/22/2018 at 12:12 am in reply to: Found defect before shipping and contacted buyer: what if they don't respond? #30957I generally include the phrase, “unless I hear from you shortly, to the contrary, your item will ship as scheduled.” I don’t send messages with minor flaws anymore. It’s usually if I made an obvious error with the wording on the listing. Then I’ll send a message.
My experience is that most people don’t care.
If It’s a major flaw, I’ll either offer them a huge discount up front or just cancel the transaction myself. None of us are perfect.
I rarely state any of my items are flawless or pristine. I’d rather under promise and over deliver.
If it’s a relatively inexpensive item and there’s a flaw they have an issue with at delivery, I refund them 100% and let them keep it. In reality I rarely get complaints with condition.
Good Luck.
Cool.. the trophies should sell. If some are a little boring or have damaged sections, you can take them apart and sell the tops in lots for crafts etc.
Make sure you state whether the tops are metal or plastic in the listings..
Good deal on the freebies..
