Message for Steve, that Captain Crunch boat is probably a “crewel” rather than needlepoint. It was really lovely! You mentioned that it took a long time to sell. If you ever run across something like that in the future, you might include the word crewel in your title and see if that helps. Thank you for all your videos, I have learned A LOT!
Great tip and very nice photos in your store.
I have an Asian buyer now in Lompoc CA that wants a large order… I am going to get signature and tracking. He has great ratings on Ebay and has had an account since 2005. Jay seems to think there is nothing to worry about so I am working on not worrying… easier said than done.
It helps to have your input Jay, which is why this blog is so invaluable to people like us that are just starting out. This overseas stuff does make me feel nervous but like all things I assume that will smooth out over time. I am certainly more confident today than I was three months ago.
Can I ask how you were made aware that the buyer is in Thailand but with a US based address?
I have a potential buyer that has a private account which says it is based in the US. His name is Asian and he wanted to buy a lot of 8 items from me. I just wanted to protect myself in case…
Thank you.
Thank you T-Satt for all the good tips.
SigalThank you Geoff, good tip!!! We will have to invest in one soon. But did you just say you ripped one off a wall in a hotel!?????????????????? That is more than scavenging, no?
Oh, and there is one more thing that I wanted to share and see if you agree: Sometimes I notice that my item is listed elsewhere for a very low cost. I know it is worth more but as someone earlier said, “blind leading the blind.” So what I decided to do (tell me if you agree) is leave out some of the words, which don’t make that much difference anyway and that lead to the other similar items.
Example: I have a yellow Tinker Bell cup. I have seen ones like mine for so cheep but I have seen other different Tink cups that are decently priced. The ones like mine ALL say “Yellow” which is how I found them, i.e. you cannot see the other listings (like mine) if you leave out “yellow”, so I left out yellow so that mine cannot be compared with theirs.
I felt very clever in my own little mind… was I?
Thank you, all of you. VERY helpful info. I have noticed that sometimes, when something is not getting views, if I change the order of the words it helps and even converts things into sales. I think when we started I did not know which words to put first, now I know a little better and with your input I can improve on that. I never do the “cute” stuff because I hate seeing it. Again, good input from you and much appreciated.
T-Satt, LOVE your store. Beautiful pictures! Very professionally presented items. Thank you for sharing.
Two questions, please:
I have a playstation and I know it is new (looks it) but I have no way to test. Did you test the one you listed?
Do you iron each shirt? Are you an immortal being?!!!

Thank you Adventure E. Good advise and we have seen it work well with the drafts. I am usually ahead of Tony with the drafts and he edits and loads the pictures into the drafts while I continue to create more drafts. You are right, the end of that is FAST, just review and list!
T-Satt: what your wife does is about in line with what we are doing. Clothing might be easier to list if they are generally same type of item and like you said, just plug in the data and list. I have listed vintage jackets and with the research they have taken time.
May I look at your stores? What is your store names? I am just curious to see what others are doing.
Thank you both for taking the time to answer.

Thank you theMezz. I completely agree about the monitors! That is on the list of to do ASAP! Husband says will be done today!
I have one thing I saved on a notepad so I can cup and paste quickly but as I get more educated in the ways of listing, I will do as you say. It’s a bit Greek to me right at the moment.

Thank you Inglewood. VERY helpful tips.
Jay: we split the work. We both source, Tony takes photos and I research and list. Sometimes Tony also lists and occasionally I might take photos if Tony cannot. But mostly Tony photos and I list. The research is what kills most of the time because we are not familiar with our items and their value.
Our items tend to be unique (not much multiple/same items). Our store is countryroadtreasuresusa if you are willing to take a peak at it. Your input would be so invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Like you said, we are new and so naturally it should get faster. I just wondered if on a scale of 1-10 (10 being super fast) where we are at about 15 items a day (for the TYPE of items we list)
Again, you guys are so helpful thank you.
Thank you Zack and Jay. Both of your inputs are excellent and Tony and I both agree with you.
Yes, I was concerned that this buyer would flip the item (again we are new!) and Zach, yes, I am kicking myself just about now.
The buyer was super nice and we agreed to stay in touch so I am reaching out to him/her now and we’ll see what happens.
Thank you sooooooooooooooo much for your input.

Thanks Jay!
Any thoughts about “private” buyers/sellers?
Why would someone who does a LOT of selling and buying go private?
