Yes, I also agree that eBay should know the hate speech this guy is using. You wouldn’t allow a customer like this to remain in a B&M store so why should it be on an online platform?
I’d still have some difficulty dropping the conversation before eBay booted him off though, because part of my research interest is centered on the linguistics of such language.
WOW. Does he anger much? I’d have a hard time not continuing the conversation just to see what other rambling nonsense he spews out.

I have a few books of negatives and a whole bunch of random slides that are waiting for listing. I’m glad to see things like that sell!
Thanks for the link! I think it is a great perspective of starting in the world of reselling and one that isn’t often shared.

My local thrift often has a few large speakers for just a few bucks so I’m going to need to take a closer look next time I’m in there.
I only had two sales this past week, but one was a SF Giants Will Clark T-Shirt cir 1990. My mom found a few old baseball related t-shirts in a drawer a few months ago and brought them to me over Christmas. This one sold in a day for $30. Will Clark T-Shirt
First Class is anything under 1 lb total weight. Most people use the Priority Mail service. Not everything will fit nicely in a flat rate box and sometimes lighter large items are better off not using flat rate so it can be important to find out what the packaged weight will be.
I am floating around 170 items in my store, but haven’t been able to do much listing in the past few months. I sell 1-5 items a week with it being closer to 1 item a week.
What kind of items are you selling?
Taking pictures is a great idea!
Are there any clearer pictures of the label? My first guess is Russian or somewhere in the Baltic States, but without seeing the smaller writing, I can’t be sure. Looks like you have a date of 1978 though.
For my second store, I only get the email about an item being listed for about 50% of them. I also don’t get the email about an item selling for sometimes hours after the paypal email saying I was paid for either store. Ebay email has been wonky for me for a while, but I check in every morning so I don’t miss too much.
My average time on an item depends on the item. Some need extra cleaning, some need testing, some need a ton of research so it all depends on that. Photographing one item can usually be 5-10 minutes to get things set right and pictures taken. Hopefully, once I get things set up in a more streamline manner, I’ll be more efficient. I like to sell t-shirts and I have estimated that I can have 9 hours total in 30 shirts from scavenging to shipping. 2-3 hours for scavenging, 15 active minutes in washing, 30-60 minutes for logging inventory, 1-1.5 hours for photos, then I can average 5 minutes per shirt for listing. I’m still working on the process so there are areas for improvement. My shoes and hard goods tend to take about 30-60 minutes to list when considering researching price as part of that.

Hello!
01/10/2017 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Join me in the 2017 Something from Nothing Challenge anyone??? #10018Sounds like a great challenge! I’ll be tracking your progress and rooting for you, but I have massive growth goals for 2017 so I think keeping the money I earn from free and paid for items would get muddled. Good luck! Hopefully you get a great vacation or other reward at the end!
Okay, I have my death pile destruction goal date of June 3rd. The local United Way teams up with the local University and the students donate clothing and hard goods for the sale. This year’s sale date is June 3rd so I have my target! Last year over 40 TONS of stuff was donated and some past years they had over 70 tons! It is a bag sale and last year it was $20 for a large cloth grocery bag full. I know it is still nearly half a year away, but I’m already excited for this event. I anticipate I will have my death piles cleared out well before that, but at least I know my final date.
