Steve – I bought a Carhartt vest a month ago in the same style as the one you sold. The one I have is tan and in a size large. I didn’t have it listed as high as yours, but I just increased the price. The temperature has gone down since I listed it, the solds seemed to have gone up.
Anyway, I had a slow week. I have two sales I thought I’d mention:
I saw this rotary phone at a garage sale this past summer, and I initially passed it up. I went home and decided to look at solds, and then drove back to buy it. I paid $5, and it sold for $64. It was a novelty retro phone back in 1973, but what would you call it now? Retro antique?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183216434473I only mention this sale because of a discussion elsewhere on the forum about collectables that haven’t held up their value. I bought these Precious Moment figurines in an auction lot with other items. I paid about $0.70 and sold for $20. So you can sell collectables! Just not for much.

But, what happened with the shipping of the Christmas village setup. Was it all successful in the end?
I don’t see that option on my page. I did get the new My eBay beta page, but it didn’t have any options to send an offer. I’ll keep an eye out for it, though!
10/25/2018 at 8:10 am in reply to: Bug alert on relisting as " Sell Similar" with quantity of more than 1 #50693When I use Sell Similar with an item of multiple quantity, it usually will create the new listing with the original starting quantity no matter how many had been sold. I thought that was by design. I set up my listings with Good til Canceled, so I have to be careful when something is close to 16 months old, and I have to end and sell similar. Any multiple quantity items have to be checked for the correct amount.
That said, I have found a few listings in the past where the quantity did not match up with what I had in stock. I’ve assumed that was due to “operator error”, but I don’t know for sure. I also recently found an item where the listing is missing. It’s going to be a pain to recreate it because it was kind of complicated, so I’ve been putting it off.
Anyway, I agree that you have to be careful with multiple quantity listings. I don’t have enough of them to really say whether there is a glitch or not.

You could have asked for his name and contacted the manager later. If something is clearly marked, and they refuse to sell it to you for that amount, then I think that is illegal. One of those switch and bait things.
I’m not 100% sure in this case, but it seems fishy to me.
10/23/2018 at 9:28 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #50635I was going to say the same thing – I’d be nervous that the drone would hit something fragile.
How many vendors were in there? I assume that your stuff is vintage, not the newer craft things.
I caught a few sayings while flying around:
When I’m queen, cupcakes will be free
I was born free, now I’m expensive
Drunk on Junk10/23/2018 at 8:32 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #50583I think that you just post the link, and then it will open YouTube to show the video. I don’t think there is any way to embed a video like Jay & Ryanne.
Looking forward to seeing the drone vid!
10/22/2018 at 6:17 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #50574Amatino – I had a very slow week as well. I had NO SALES on eBay for three straight days; Wed, Thurs, and Fri. That just doesn’t happen that often with a 1100 item store. Then, I only sold three things over the weekend.
I did have my first two Mercari sales, but that didn’t make my week that much better! (Did cheer me up, though).
10/22/2018 at 5:42 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 382: Treasure Hunting with a Fishnet #50573Week of Oct 14 – 20
* Total Items in Store: 1187 eBay, 11 Mercari
* Items Sold: 8 eBay, 2 Mercari
* Cost of Items Sold: $13 + $19.76 Commission
* Total Sales: $162.60 eBay + $30.50 Mercari
* Highest Price Sold: $64 Vintage 1973 Candlestick Phone with Rotary Dial
* Average Price Sold: $19.31
* Returns: 0
* Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $22.25
* Number of items listed this week: 12Slow week again. No eBay sales on Wed, Thurs, or Fri! However, I did make my first two Mercari sales. I wasn’t sure whether to add them this week, or wait until I get paid. I decided to add them now, but I’ll have to report them as a return if I get one.
I’ve been trying this year to buy higher value items. Sometimes I succeed, and sometimes I don’t. But, I’m definitely getting out of the cheap stuff business. This week I took a huge amount of clothing (about 100 items) that a friend of my parents gave me, and lotted them up into 9 listings each with 8 to 12 items. I have no desire to photograph each separately and sell them for $5 to $10 each. If I sell them for just a few dollars each, that’s fine if I can sell them 10 at a time.
10/22/2018 at 10:24 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #50526We haven’t been counting drafts at this point. However, I thought that eBay will often include a partial month for free if you commit for a year.
Confirm that before you sign up. I’m just going by vague memories from when I signed up for a store.
Of course, Amatino is the big boss here, and she has the final say on the drafts.
10/21/2018 at 6:25 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #50469Thanks! I forgot to congratulate you on 51 listings! That’s amazing. If you could maintain that for a few weeks or months, think of the size of store you would have!
10/21/2018 at 11:41 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #50459I listed 12, three of which are from death piles.
The death pile listings are clothing that a friend of my parents gave me to sell (maybe a 100 pieces of clothing!). I had washed them and placed a large number of them in a big box, and then went to the Swap.com website in order to send them in. However, Swap stopped accepting new shipments because they have too much inventory. I kept clicking on the site over the spring and summer months, but looks like they’ve stopped accepting shipments for a long time.
I didn’t want to list every item individually. I did list a few that seemed more sellable. I tried bringing in bags of fall/winter clothing to Plato’s Closet, a thrift store near a friend I was visiting. They took three things and said that they might take other stuff after they sold off more inventory. Well, I wasn’t about to come by the store every month to see if they would take more, so I decided to list.
I broke down the clothing into about 9-10 bundles of 9 or more pieces of clothing. I gathered them by size and further broken down into colors or styles. I’ve listed the first three bundles, and the remainder will be completed this week. I’ve priced them based on a $5-10/piece price, and then added Make Offer. I want these bags of clothing GONE!
Here’s an example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183495720188Mike: My mother has been using RoboForm for years. My computer saves the passwords for me. Is there an advantage of using RoboForm over the built-in computer function? For example, if my computer is stolen, the thieves would have access to all of my important passwords assuming they can get through my initial login to my account.
That never happens to me
Out of curiosity, what does LastPass do?
