Here’s one from my active listings page:
Interesting. I think I saw that before, but didn’t investigate it at that time. According to the information bubble that comes up, the eligible items follow the following rules:
Eligibility to send offers to watchers is determined by a number of factors including listing with Best Offer, quantity, listing duration, and rules that manage the number of offers buyers receive.
SilverFoxFinds – Tarot cards have been some of my best sellers. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any for quite a while.
Steve – Is your son interested in eBay selling? Or was he just curious to see what you were doing?
I paid less than $1 for this book in an auction box lot, and it sold for $34. I believe that part of its value has to do with the illustrations.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183555480061My mom went with me to some estate sales two summers ago. I found this box with a set of silver plate flatware for $50, and I hesitated on buying it. We left, but my mom convinced me to go back and get it. There were some non-matching serving pieces that I listed separately, so I put a $46 value on this listing. I had only received a $75 offer previously, so I had decided that next year I would separate it out and sell in groups. When the $150 offer came in, I decided that was better than all that work.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182752951909I bought four boxes of Mikasa Silk flowers dishes plus a box of silver plate flatware and other metal items at an auction for $5. I was mostly interested in the silver plate, but was pleasantly surprised at the prices for the Mikasa. This is the first set to sell, 4 coffee cups for $39. Dividing up the auction price, I paid about $0.50.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183576514878The same lady bought several listings of Gorham Stanhope flatware from me a few weeks ago. I had suggested this set of appetizer forks, but she said she was good. I lowered the price slightly based on one of those eBay messages that items are being watched or are in someone’s cart. She bought them for $32, but really didn’t save any money because she had to pay shipping again. I paid less than $1. I have only one listing of this pattern left.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183543217374This is another set of dishes that I bought very cheaply, but I was surprised that the Laura Ashley name didn’t bring a really high price. Still, these 4 dinner plates sold for $30, and I paid less than $1.

Mercari is a Japanese company that expanded into the US.

* Total Items in Store: 1282 eBay, 10 Mercari
* Items Sold: 16 eBay
* Cost of Items Sold: $57.69 + $0 Commission
* Total Sales: $474.10
* Highest Price Sold: $150 Silver-plate flatware set with box
* Average Price Sold: $29.63
* Returns: 0
* Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0
* Number of items listed this week: 14I had a reasonable week and was happy to sell the flatware. I had been planning to break up the set and redo all the photos, but then it sold.
I didn’t buy any new inventory last week, but, yesterday (which will be part of next week’s numbers), I did some bidding in an online auction. The lots started to end at 7:30PM, and we were going out to dinner, so I set my bids and expected to be outbid on a good number of them. As with most online auctions, all the action is at the end. This one was unusual because it ended on a Sunday, and pickup is today (Monday). So, during dinner, I checked my emails twice, and I only received two of those outbid messages. Later, I get my invoice, and I ended up with 13 lots at about $92! Whoops.
I bought a lot of good stuff, and, if I’m going to drive an hour each way today, I’m glad to pick up a good number of things. I do need to be back home to pick up my daughter from track practice, so I’ll have to be there right at the start time.
12/17/2018 at 10:13 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #53506I listed 14 items this week.
I’ll probably list about the same next week. I’ll be out the last week of the year, so that one will be zero.
It’s a good thing that your buyer thought to ask first. I’ve heard of situations where the seller had to call eBay after the item was shipped so that they could explain the situation and get any late shipment dings off their status.
Yes, I would change your handling time (with some extra days thrown in), and then tell your buyer to go ahead and purchase the item. When calculating the handling time, remember to not include holidays and weekends; only business days.

12/13/2018 at 10:21 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Dart board, Hats, Models, Car parts, Original painting, Vintage Crib Mobile #53339I actually have 8 or 9 lots of women’s clothing mostly organized by size, but I had to break down some of the sizes into other groups such as color.
I haven’t sold any of them. I received one low ball offer on a lot of 9 Chico’s items for $20. That would be a bit more than $2 an item? I mean, I didn’t pay anything for them, but still. I tried a counter offer, but it didn’t work.

The auction vs BIN format has been a topic of discussion numerous times on the forum. One method is to set it at the lowest price you want for an item, and then see if something happens. The other, like the guy in the video, is to set it low and try to get some buzz going.
I was a bit nervous about setting the price of the tray too low. I have been trying to move some older inventory using auctions, and it hasn’t been working too well. But, I knew this would sell. So, I set the minimum bid at $75, which is around the lowest sold price of a similar tray.
What I really liked about this video is his method of getting data. He’ll list an item very high for a week or a month to see what type of interest the item gets, i.e., the number of views and watchers. Then, if he feels real confident in it, he’ll put it at a $0.99 auction and let it rip. I like this idea, and I think I’ll use it (maybe not at $0.99) in the future.
For older items I’m trying to move, I’ll continue to start at the very lowest I’m willing to take.
Late deliveries outside of your control are very easy to get removed by a call to eBay as long as your shipping date was within your stated time.
