Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0Glad to hear Ryanne is feeling better. Being a full time seller has really given me the freedom to be able to step away when having medical issues. I have done minimal listings and scavenging the last two months and am grateful that I have ebay still bringing money in. Returns have not been too bad lately, seems like it was a mess in the beginning and now it has slowed down. I also added the $1 handling fee to all my listings, so this has helped.
We will be leaving to Spain next week our our 5 week pilgrimage to the Camino de Santiago. We will be interested to see how our ebay store does while we are gone for that long. Being that we have mostly clothing right now I am thinking people are not willing to wait until we get back. Time will tell.

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0Loved the picture of J and R’s truck from the auction. It always feels like we are playing Tetris when we buy too much at auctions, we have had to make multiple trips in the past as well. I get how Ryanne feels about taking care of your stuff at auctions, people steal things for sure.
I finally shut off free returns, I did the math and decided it was not worth it to me. We will see if my sales are affected. I think my selling clothes is causing more returns. I am hoping things change with ebay, it has been very frustrating to feel like they are stepping on their sellers to make their way up the amazon tree. Calling ebay has been infuriating, I just don’t have time to call ebay constantly to fix INAD cases. I hate having to jump through hoop after hoop and spending hours of my time waiting for someone to actually pick up the phone.
I have not been on the ball with listing, just trying to get things organized instead. We did put a bunch of stuff on craigslist and got some things out of our house. Hoping to get into gear again, I have had difficulty feeling motivated. We have a lot going on with our upcoming trip, building a house, and getting our son off to his new “adulting” job. Had an okay week, soft sales mostly. I did have a vase that sold for $600, I paid $200 for it. That really helped my bottom line, I would have been in the dirt without it. 🙂 Didn’t get a ton of work done on ebay, we have been busy trying to get our house packed and also had our son visiting. Our son did get a job in Washington DC so my husband and I will be going to visit and hopefully going to stay in one of J and R’s rentals.
I also got a new phone, and iPhone 8S. Made me a bit nausea to get it but we really wanted it for the amazing camera. We are going on our 5 week walk soon and I wanted something that takes great videos and pictures.
We hate going to sales where the price is not set, it is frustrating. We have been to sales where when you ask the people how much the item is they will get their phone and look it up on ebay! I instantly was like nope! We do like estates sales for hard goods, we haven’t had a lot of luck finding stuff other than clothes at thrift stores.
I had one return, it was a pair of jeans that has been returned 2 times in one month!! I take the time to measure things and they still return it for fit. UG> I just sold them again and I will just have to burn them if I get them back again.Total Items in Store: 2180

Had a good week in sales this week. A couple returns for fit, UG. I threw out my back last Saturday and haven’t been able to do much in the way of listing or sourcing. Hoping to get back into the grove of things. We have been getting our house ready to sell so I have actually been listing some of my own items. I think sometimes we forget what treasures we have in our house that we no longer need or want. I am thinking of going through some old inventory and taking some better pictures, some of them are pretty shady.
I went back to look at my messages and saw that ebay said if I turned on free returns they would cover the cost of the return through August. I can’t figure out for sure if they are or not. I will be turning it off if things continue like this, I can’t afford that many returns if I am paying for shipping.

We met with the builder and have decided on a nice simple house plan with a huge bay in the garage for my ebay business. We are hoping to start building soon. The builder is family, we also have family that do framing, drywall, and electrical. We are stressed out already… but it will work out. I will share pictures of the progress for sure.

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0 (Trying to work on the piles of stuff that bore me to list 🙁 )We had a slow week comparable to the past few months, but we are still way up compared to the same time last year. We will take it! We have also been on a roll of selling low price items, under $50. Returns have been a pain. I find that having to call ebay to fix the INAD cases is time consuming and annoying.
I agree that it seems ebay has poor communication skills when it comes to its sellers. Seems odd that a company that size would not have a department especially dedicated to sellers and communication with sellers. Maybe they do have it but it is not working. I like the idea of having different tones for different sales, I think if it is over $100 I would like the sound of wining the jackpot in Vegas!
Haven’t been very productive lately, watching the World Cup has been very time consuming! We are starting the process of selling our house so trying to get things packed and organized has been a hassle. It doesn’t leave much time for ebay work.
I have also been helping out at my old job, they are really struggling right now and I am taking pity on them. BUT…. I told my manager that I am too busy to keep working so much. He doesn’t get it…..doesn’t understand the ebay thing. Doesn’t understand how I make more money and am much happier having my own time. Got to love our jobs!

I really have to give you and Ryanne credit for giving me the courage to leave my full time job. You helped me “look at the numbers” and decide that it was the right move. 🙂 We can’t wait to be in a position to allow Edgar to leave his job as well. It is a hard decision because we do carry insurance for our kids and I use the heck out of our insurance as well. But we will get there for sure.

I had a nice sale of a coat for $680, once I shipped it I got a message from the buyer saying they did not buy the item.
I called my local post office and they were able to intercept the package and bring it back to me. What a relief. The person
opened a case saying their computer was taken over by a third party. I guess I don’t understand how that scam works if her
computer was truly hacked.
Returns have been a pain for sure. For some reason a bunch of my sales are by brand new people with no feedback. I already got a couple NAS cases that were truly just buyer remorse.
This week I helped my mom open an ebay store and helped her list a few items. She has some health issues and is not able to work so hopefully this will help her stay busy.

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $158Great episode! Had another good week between our platforms. My husband does Amazon Merch and is steadily making money each month ( I do not include his sales in with my sales 🙂 I have been having issues with Bonanza having items in my booth that have already sold on ebay. Seems like they are not communicating correctly. I had to cancel two sales so far this week. I have also had a couple issues with ebay. One thing that drives me bonkers is when my custom label is not on my listing. So I use the custom label area to put which box the item is in, and for some reason some are being deleted. Not sure what is going on. So we are having to go through a ton of bins to find the items. Not fun when it is 93 degrees outside and the garage is like a sauna. We had three returns this week and that has me worries since we turned on free returns, hoping it doesn’t bit us in the butt.
We have also been doing a lot of walking and hiking to prepare for our upcoming trip in September. So that does take a lot of our time on the weekends.
We did hit some yard sales this weekend and didn’t find much. We are wondering if our time would be better spent just going to the thrift store.
We are also going to start the Keto Diet so I am looking forward to seeing what recipes Jay and Ryanne have liked as well as sharing some recipes that we have liked.Total Items in Store: 2147

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $190It is funny to hear Ryanne and Jay talk about never washing their car, I rarely wash mine. I think it just a waste of money.
Clean the care, never. Instead of keeping up the the Joneses we should be keeping up with the Scavengers. We all know we can do better: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
We had a good week, some high value items. We are trying to do some retail arbatrage, going to Ross and Burlington and buying new clothing on clearance and selling it on ebay. One item I sold was a Ralph Lauren jacket, I bought it for $10 or $15 and sold it for $148. I was happy with that. The down fall to retail arbitrage for me is that I despise going into the Ross stores. They are so messy and gross they give me anxiety.
We also went to Idaho’s Largest Garage sale this week. There is a guy there we love to buy from, he goes to storage auctions and always has a ton of cool stuff. I found a giant bin with barbie toys and paid $15. Got home and found some cool stuff. Some vintage GI Joe, ninja turtles, and he-man. So I decided to put a bunch of stuff up for auction, just to see what happens.We were open to moving to another state but when this property popped up we decided to bounce on it. We are going to sit down with a builder very soon to see if we can build something that we need within our budget. We figure if we are not able to come up with a decent home for our frugal budget we can just turn around and flip the piece of land for more than we bought it for. We do have several family members who are builders, framers, ect. So hopefully that means we can get some kind of family discount right! HA.

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $85I find that trying to jump between all these different platforms is really frying my brain. I think I will stick with ebay as my main source with a few things here and there on etsy and amazon. On Amazon we are only adding a few puzzles that are new, they are actually selling right away, we just do merchant fulfilled.
Had a little bit slower week than the last few weeks. I had a death in the family and my son graduating from college so I haven’t really gotten much done in the last two weeks. I am grateful that I have ebay as my full time job, it gives me the freedom to be able to step away for as much time as I need and it is there waiting for me when I return. I plan on getting right back to listing all my “to be listed” piles. 🙂 We also put an offer on a piece of land so hopefully we will start building our dream home soon, one that has a HUGE area for me to grow my business. Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $98Great episode! I think you get what you put into it. I left my full time job to do ebay full time and couldn’t be happier. Ebay isn’t my only source of income stream, I do a little bit of other stuff here and there. I do still go into my old job here and there when they need extra help but I find myself telling them I can’t, I just don’t have time. My time is better spent on my piles of stuff to list at home.
We had another great week. We have a giant pile of stuff to list so we didn’t do much in the way of buying new inventory.
Getting ready to go up next week to watch our oldest son graduate college!! We are so excited. We also plan to hit all the local thrift stores in the small town the college is at, we might even plan a trip up in a few weeks to go scavenging again, college kids get rid of the craziest things.
