I loved the call about the free stuff from baseball games! Edgar and I went to a game in San Francisco and they were giving out duffle bags, so when we were leaving we saw that a bunch of people left them in their seat, still wrapped! So of course we picked them up and put them on Ebay when we got home. We are selling them for about $16 each.
I also like the idea about Reddit… my kids got me into reddit and it is the best thing ever.06/17/2019 at 10:35 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 415: Importance Of Being Honest As A Business Owner #63624Happiest 40th Birthday Ryanne! Welcome to the club. 🙂
I also got a cost adjustment saying I used the Regional Rate B box but only paid for the Regional Rate A box. I sent them a message saying that I have never used the regional box B box and that I wanted proof. They were not able to provide any evidence and eventually refunded me. It took about a month for them to respond.
It was a 9000 piece puzzle! It was like 6 feet across. Giant puzzles are a BOLO for sure.
Oh I do remember them doing that. We would defiantly need to include Amazon FBA. I am not that excited about it but if it helps bring in a small income and still give us the ability to travel then I could do it. Thanks Jay and Ryanne for the info. 🙂

Money Spent Inventory This Week: $45Great episode discussion, working as a couple sure does have its ups and downs. I find after being with my husband for more than half my life we are pretty well suited to work together. Mostly he just puts up with me being ornery. I like what you said about going on walks, Edgar and I find that to be a great time to discuss life and work.
It would be great to see a video of a “Day in the Life of Ryanne and Jay”. I can come over and film it, they can edit it. 🙂
Selling lots of low priced items at the moment, almost no clothing. Thankfully had a couple items that were over $100 to save us. We are continuing to work on our death piles, ug.Awesome! That is what I was hoping. Does anyone know of people doing this full time on the road? I can imagine with such a small inventory you wouldn’t be making as much as having a large inventory, but am hoping it could be a small supplemental income.
So I was wondering about the shipping address, if I put that I am shipping form my home address but actually mail it from another state will USPS frown upon that?
We are thinking of doing a test run to see if it is doable, maybe be on the road for 6 weeks or so. Trying to figure out logistics, we wouldn’t want a huge inventory and the items we did have would need to be selling for more money as well.Total Items in Store: 1919

Money Spent Inventory This Week: $75We had a good week. We have been trying to not buy new inventory but we couldn’t resist hitting a couple annual church sales.
The three Etsy sales were all sold to a guy who is a runway designer for Coach! He bought a super cool spy looking trench coat, a vintage windbreaker, and vintage blouse.
I helped a cousin set up her Ebay store a few weeks ago and she is doing great! She is the best “student” because she will go search the internet for answers to her questions before coming to me. 🙂 Her goal is to add $500 a month to help pay off bills. I tried to help my mom set up her store but she isn’t interested in doing that much work. Lol.
Hope everyone is having a great week! Yard Sale season is on!Here is a link to the game

For some reason when you search for recent sales of the item it does not show up. Very strange.Hi Jay,
The game is a Super Nintendo game called StarFox. It was a special game that was made just for competition. I bought a bunch of Nintendo games that were in amazing condition, most came with the boxes and manuals. This game was a bit of a gamble because apparently people will put fake boards inside them. So all in all we paid $280 for it, we were relieved when we finally opened it up and it was authentic. Yay.Total Items in Store: 1916

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0We had a good week thanks to a nice sell of a rare Nintendo game. A lot of our sales have just been smalls here and there. We were away in San Francisco most of last week so we did not list anything. We are working on setting up a shipping station in the office, as well as organizing. UG.
Because we have had a very slow couple months we are focusing on selling our own items as well as “to be listed” items, instead of shopping. I am wondering if some of the “soft” sales are due to the shipping changes as well as ebay now charging taxes. We were thinking of possibly doing a test of free shipping on some of our smaller items, see if that helps boost sales.
Happy listing to everyone. 🙂Interesting read. The fact that people would just throw perfectly good items away is mind boggling, they can’t take the time to drop it off at one of the hundreds of donation centers?? We will be down in SF this next week, I am not sure I am ready to jump in garbage cans but hopefully I can find the area this guy sells at.
It was a collectible called Walt Disney Treasures. It came with a tin and 2 discs. We could it at an estate sale for $1 🙂

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $380 (Auction and Yard Sales)Felt like a slow week this week, sold a lot of lower priced items. We put a sale on our store with 25% off, trying to get rid of some of our old clothing items that we have had listed for a while. Unfortunately we do not have an unlimited amount of storage space. We are hoping to build our store with higher priced items, just need to find out where they are. HA.
