Thank you all!
Yes. I agree it does seemed aimed more at the handmade crowd. I looked at the information they have on the packages and nothing jumped out at me like I had to have it. The rate for the first package is going to be $10 a month for the rest of 2018 and then go up to $20 per month in 2019. So if you do want the extra goodies it is not a huge monthly fee.
Mike in the FAQ they say
“Will sellers who pay for a monthly package get special treatment in Etsy search? No, paid subscriptions will not influence how your listings appear in search.”
Whether that is 100% true….who knows

I’m happy to see they will be adding phone support and live chat. Users have been asking for better customer support and it’s nice that Etsy has responded.
Also they will be adding different ‘packages’ sort of like ebay’s store levels. There will still be a ‘free’ level but they will be adding two more levels that give you more options.
I’m hoping higher fees / more advertising leads to better sales as my sales have gone done on Etsy this year.
Buying vintage wool items and not seeing the moth holes until I go to list it or worse yet when I go to ship it.
Thank you Temudgin. I’d never heard that term before. You taught me something new and interesting.
By the way a few years I purchased a similar reproduction vintage cast iron bank. Took me forever to get rid of it for next to nothing.
If you use Promotions you can do a buy 1 get 1 free. I haven’t used Markdown Manager for a long time.
Katie how many returns would you normally get in a month prior to free returns?
Temudgin what is a fantasy antique?
Answered my own question. He’s a hunter not a soldier…:) And not rare. I found two more once I searched for hunter.
Jay I don’t buy many ties because they don’t do well in general. I stick to unique and only buy them if they are super cheap. I know some people though have access to higher end brands of ties and do really well with those. It depends on where you live I guess. The ones I come across aren’t high end brands. But I usually check the tie racks and pick up specialty ties like Harley Davidson.
Some of the small things I look for are mens ties, unique belt buckles, vintage leather belts, collectible playing cards, vintage handkerchiefs, vintage scarves, vintage brooches (enamel and the ones with the faux jewels)
The keywords that come to my mind are ‘vintage metal 3D relief of woman’ plaque or wall hanging
I think I can take it off without damaging it. When I press on it I can tell it is separate from the piece; there is space between. I’m sorely tempted to take it off. I’ll probably wait until tomorrow though and do it when I haven’t had a couple of glasses of wine already 🙂
Thank you AdventureE! I grew up Catholic. No wonder the image looked familiar to me.
