I looked at feedback and solds….seller looks to be doing OK….
he has 172 followers, and I’ll bet his view counts are enviable. But is it an effective marketing technique? Hard to say….
06/15/2017 at 9:17 am in reply to: First 'negative' and it's a lie … Ebay don't want to remove #19440Perhaps ebay has changed its policy, but if not, what CS told you is correct: the buyer is entitled to his opinion, and that’s all it is, an opinion. While it is annoying, you are right: it isn’t really going to impact your ability to sell.
If you must do something, you can post your feedback response, but keep it professional, factual and impersonal. Something like: Buyer returned item, full refund granted. Item is authentic.
And then forget about it and move on.

I wouldn’t call this vague: “We don’t permit the sale of items that claim to be pre-embargo because we cannot determine when an item was removed from a specific country”
Seems pretty clear. Not saying don’t try it, but recognize the risk.
Jay,
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/accepted-payments-policy.htmlcityseller,
Unless ebay has changed their policy, those options must comply with the rules I provided. In other words, yes, you can choose “personal check” but only for those categories where it is permitted.
Maybe something has changed, but I’m not aware of it….
Jay,
As a practical matter, I think sellers can still get away with accepting such payments occasionally. But soliciting them, even indirectly, is a pretty big no-no. I’m not sure if the OP is asking about accepting a proffered payment, or if he is asking if it’s OK to say he will accept them in his listing.categories where other payment options are permitted:

In the very early days of ebay, this was fairly common, today, as far as I know, it is prohibited by ebay policy. For a long time, you could accept such payments, but could not indicate that in your TOS. I think within the last few years ebay changed it policy so that these are no longer acceptable payment methods….I could be wrong though.
One thing: I think there might be a few categories where ebay does permits this.
Markdown Manager The recent webinar on Promotions Manager strongly hinted that ebay is reviewing Markdown Manager. However, whether any changes will incorporate your suggestions, I don’t know. Sounded more like they are trying to figure out how to plug it into “sales Event” in Promotions Manager….as it is, it’s a clumsy process to use the two together.
I’ve never been to the one in Lancaster. That limitation seems kind of silly, but I guess it’s their store, they can make the rules…I’m going to have to watch myself at their shops…try not to go overboard LOL
I’ll definitely give it a try! So many thrift stores, so little time LOL
AJ, Just curious…how crowded was Opening Day? I was at the Opening in Selinsgrove and it was pretty crazy….my better half is not a fan of crowds, which is one reason we didn’t go to the opening in Harrisburg.
AJ, I’ve been to the one in Selinsgrove a few times…it IS huge LOL Couldn’t make it to the grand opening of the one in Harrisburg, but hope to get there within the next few weeks sometime.
I can pretty much guarantee that clerk that a hefty percentage of his buyers either sell online and/or at flea markets, antique malls etc…I don’t know of any thrift stores that prohibit resellers from buying there. Sounds like the clerk is new….shouldn’t be too long before he can identify his regular resellers by sight, and hopefully he’ll learn not to say anything about it.
I didn’t get an email. But in Seller Hub, go to “Marketing” > “Promoted Listings”…there should be a message with a link at the top of that page. the selected categories for now are: Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop, Stamps, Antiques, Consumer Electronics, Art, Video Games & Consoles, Musical Instruments & Gear.
