When a buyer purchases something, they have the option of leaving a “note” for the seller. Sometimes they just say “thanks!” but other times it’s something time-sensitive like “I really need this by this <date>” or “I’d be willing to pay for faster shipping if available.” The only place to see that there is such a note is when you go to your list of orders when you are ready to ship. For folks like me who have a multi-day handling time and do not ship every day, by the time I go to ship, it is often too late to do anything about the request in the note. It would be really useful to be notified of the note as soon as the purchase is complete. Either via email/ebay message, or somehow in Seller Hub. Putting this information in the “your item sold!” email would not be enough, as that would mean having to read every single “item sold” email to check.

Totally agree.

Could be wrong, but I think buyer messages are in the Sold area of Seller Hub, for that item. Even is you only ship every few days, you presumably do check your solds more frequently than that, so just look at your Seller Hub Solds list.

I get notification of solds in my email, so I only go to “Orders” in Seller Hub when I’m ready to ship, which is not every day. Especially if there’s a weekend involved, or I’m busy with other things, it could be a few days, by which time it may be too late to address the question/request/issue in the buyer’s note. Hence my feature request.

OK. I didn’t understand what you wanted. You want ebay to send you a separate email every time a purchase includes a buyer message (even if its just “Thanks””).
I guess we have different needs. I don’t usually sell so much in a day that I can’t either just look at the sold email or the sold list. But I can see if you sell a lot every day, why you would want something like that.

That’s right – I want eBay to treat the messages that come with a sale exactly like all other eBay messages. So that I can see the “can you send this sooner than your 3-day handling time b/c of XYZ” messages immediately in my email. Just like i now see “will this fit me?” messages immediately in my email, even though those messages are less urgent IMO.
The argument you are making could also be made about emails about sales – why should eBay send us emails about sales (and cha-chings on our phones), when we can just check in to Seller Hub regularly to see what has sold? And the answer is the same – some people’s life/work-style makes email or other types of alerts of sales & messages more convenient than having to keep checking in. And for people who don’t want email alerts – they can keep them turned off.

sonia, I’m not making an argument. Just saying , for me, with relatively few sales per day, simply doing a quick scan of my solds is sufficient. I can see where it might not be sufficient for a larger seller. You could attend the weekly chat with ebay reps on the ebay Boards and suggest it.
