Judy,
That is a great feeling when you find a lost item after it has sold.
At that point is more than just about the money. If you don’t find the item and have to cancel the sale, then you get a defect. 1 defect isn’t going to hurt you much, but if you get too many, it can hurt you.
The real fix to this is to do inventory counts or cycle counts (do a small portion each month). This is on my list of “to do’s”, but it is not fun so it doesn’t get as high of a priority as it probably should.

Oh, that was no shipping included and I had about $2000 in returns.

Inglewood,
Yes, this is often true that the rural areas are under attended and better prices.
I also found that when I am up North in Michigan, I find a lot more gold (real gold, but small amounts in jewlry and the like). I told the gold dealer that and he agreed – the populated places get picked over quickly and not much left to find. Rural areas don’t have many people coming by so gold is easier to find there.

bcfol440,
“traveling would mean going into rural areas, which appeals to me as I am city” – Same for me.

Cheryl,
I found this article on the web about this topic:
It appears that you need to get ebay’s permission if you are going to transfer the store and feedback ratings, which makes sense. If you don’t get ebay’s permission, you run the risk of getting shut down at some point in the future.

Troy,
Yes, they were GTC and over 60 days old. However, just like listing a lot, it wasn’t necessarily the ones I updated that sold.
Mark
Jay,
Yes, you said well what I was trying to say.
Also, don’t hire someone on 1099 and then try to treat them as an employee. That is a no no and it could really come back to bite you. The contract person can tell the IRS that you treated them like an employee, and if that is true, then you will owe the taxes for them as if they were an employee.
Treating them like an employee means you tell them what to do and how and when. Whereas a contractor, you tell them what you want and they do the rest how they want. Think of it like hiring a plumber. You tell them the problem and then they fix it – with their tools, on their time schedule, and the way they want. It can get complicated, but that it the basics. Hi
Mark
Yes, the sku. I use this do do a lookup to my cog table for the cost. 2019 will be automated for getting the cost of goods for all items – with proper data entry.
Sales really took off while I was doing this. I was just wondering if casini saw this similar to making new listings or maybe this was just coincidence.

My other point may not have been clear. I was saying that Because of updating about 270 items for a number of different fields during a 2 day timeframe, my sales seemed to get a boost – much like we talk about getting g a boost for listing new items. Has anyone seen a boost like this for mass updating items?
Mark
By “secure” I mean the work is not secure because contract work by nature is not secure.
Mark
You should pay more than $2 per item if they are on 1099. Contract work always gets paid more because it is by not secure. Plus, they get more taken out for taxes. I was paying my lister $4 per item for listing and for all things that go with it – measurements, etc. Between $2 and $4 I would say is a good range for a 1099 worker for listing your items. I sometimes offered more when I needed things done in a short amount of time.

01/02/2019 at 12:36 pm in reply to: How do you spend your quarterly eBay Subscription Coupon for Shipping Supplies? #54374Almasty,
I had a similar reaction.
That was a pain that they didn’t take Paypal. I didn’t order as much as I was going to. I think they are going to lose sales because of that. Bad planning or bad decision making on that one!
Mark
stalix,
You are somewhat near (I think about a 1.5 hour drive) Jay and Ryanne. Maybe you can work out a deal with them?
Mark
I did a search of the solds on “eupopean sunscreen sun screen” – not seeing much. Is this the wrong search?
