COVID hit the Northeast first so though it still exists, I feel its burned through the population. We see the huge COVID infection rates in the Midwest and Upper West states where it hadn’t touched over the summer. I think in 12 months, we’ll be in a better place with a vaccine and more precautions.
I like Boston, but I think Northhampton area with its five colleges (https://visithampshirecounty.com/explore/culture/the-five-colleges) is ideal. Just a super vital community without all the city distractions. So close to Vermont and NH for skiing and hiking.
Northhampton is where five universities are housed and Ryanne’s sister lives there. It’s an awesome vibe. We love Western Mass. Lots of young people and close to nature.

Yeah, we cashed out our retirement around 30 as well to buy our house in cash. Wish we didnt have to, but it was when banks weren’t loaning to weird people who sold on eBay as their income. Good news is we were able to leverage our house to buy rentals. A paid off asset is very valuable.
Very true. Investing is difficult in the beginning because it doesn’t seem like much. I don’t promote books or workshops, but I will make an exception for Jim Collin’s A Simple Path to Wealth: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1533667926
He clearly explains the way to build wealth through investing in index funds.
10/24/2020 at 7:34 am in reply to: creating variations sample pack listing is making my head hurt #82798This was my vote as well. Just choose some variations and make five or six different listings. The “South American sampler”. The “African sampler”. The Global sampler. Doesnt need to be perfect.
50%. In that condition, let the buyer have to dispute.
Let us know how it goes. Its the perfect time because holiday season is beginning.
Tea bag holder. That makes sense.
I see the images. I would have grabbed those as well to sell.
But what are they for? My default is always “candle holder”. You could fit a small tea candle in it.
I think they’ll cool enough to just be “vintage decor”.
Our personally experience with Etsy has been the same: few sales. I’ve heard its good to list on etsy for the holidays and some sellers swear by etsy.
I think you make money where you put your time. Put your time into Etsy, you’ll likely do well. We simply cant do well on multiple platforms. Not enough time in the day.
Its really the weakness of a publicly traded company. The eBay board seems very impatient and doesn’t let eBay be eBay. Also doesnt help that eBay has activist investors that keep focusing on squeezing cash out of the business.
Meanwhile we plebs keep selling our little trinkets in the villages 🙂
Yeah, it’s nice to drive around and not worry about scratches. That Yukon does sound like beast.
I dont know them, but So Cal Joe make sense. If they only stock fast-selling items, they would never have a large inventory. But the big question to ask is: what are their net margins? How much do they pay for fast selling inventory. If they pay $8 to make $10, then they better be selling in huge volumes.
Many people also don’t have the storage space for more than 1000 items.
I will be pleasantly surprised if eBay can pull off a big update like this.
As long as you have a system that the IRS would consider reasonable. We just divide the lot price by the number of items we intend to keep/sell.
