Often buyers dont even fight it when you dont refund the shipping because thry know they’re abusing it.
If you have 30 day free returns, there’s seller protection in these cases. You’re allowed to not refund the buyer their shipping if its being abused, and eBay will remove any negative feedback. This has been the case with us.
A single defect won’t hurt anything. If you have a bad history of lots of defects in a short amount of time, then being concerned would makes sense.
As Sonia said, we would withhold the original shipping. The buyer is abusing the return policy.

Or list a big lots of the broken bits and bobs. Put a low price. Always other scavengers out there.
I saw in the proposed Aid package that there will be unemployment for gig workers and the self-employed.
Do you have any specific info? I guess it needs to pass Congress and be signed by Trump before details will come out.
Yeah, the system will likely be different for each of us depending our relationship with our carrier or postmaster.
Have you tried calling your postmaster to have a conversation about their particular process? If your carrier is on foot, they may need to send a separate truck etc.
You could also just start the process and see what happens ๐

Since you’re home, you can watch how it works and communicate with whoever shows up.For us, its about communication with our carrier. We’ve shown her where we store packages. Doesn’t matter what kind of packages they are. Its a good system for us. Do you have the same carrier each day?
Since we’re rural, we dont need to lock anything. But since you’ll be home, could you just keep an eye on the packages until the carrier comes?
Hey, it cant hurt to try. As long as you manage them and remember to relist. I think forgetting to relist failed auction items are also why some people have “ghost inventory”.
Let us know how the experiment goes.
We’ve been bombarded the last decade with zombie apocalypse movies and shows. People’s imaginations go to societal and infrastructure breakdown. It’s bad, but we’re not even close.
Yeah, I would probably not risk getting sick at the moment. I think the next 4 weeks will really show how wide spread this virus is. It’s much bigger than the official numbers. Most stores around us are in lockdown even if you wanted to go shopping.
There will be lots of opportunities in the coming weeks.
Yeah, it’s a double punch of the virus…but also the shutting down of the economy. What are your plans to get through the next six months?
This is smart of eBay. Get people hooked while they’re at home.
Yeah, we’ll see how eBay does the longer the isolation is. We’re in unchartered territory.
Yeah, we’re assuming we wont have many fresh vegetables till our gardens come in (just planted chard and collard green starters). I wouldn’t risk going out just to get some lettuce ๐
And like I said, I really believe delivery companies will catch up to orders. There’s no lack of food. People are just panic buying thinking there’s scarcity. All those episodes of the Walking Dead have people on edge.
