Hey guys, I somehow got WAY behind on this podcast and have finally been catching up. When I saw the title “The End” I was sad, but not completely surprised. I have listened to every episode and it was a game changer for me, so thank you for that. I’m always so impressed with everything you do, and I don’t know how you keep up! Hopefully I’ll make it out your way one of these days and stop in for a cup of coffee. Thanks again.

Also, my beloved Scavenger Life mug just got chipped! If you have any laying around, sell one too me! 🙂
I guess they do, don’t they? I was hoping for something more interesting, but I think you’re right! Haha.
Yeah, that makes sense. It does look like a shoe heel, so I can totally see how it might be used for that. Thanks, all!
I know, it was quite a deal! All the jewelry was in baggies for $1 each, mixed in with costume jewelry. I think it may have been a family-run sale, so maybe they just didn’t know. I have a few other pieces at home that I’ve found at yard sales, so hopefully I can turn it into some $$!
Great, thanks for your help!

They are just two sheets of very sturdy cardboard. He came apart in the middle, and I think the package ended up being around 42″ tall. If it had been just a couple of inches bigger, it would have been $100+ to ship via USPS, but it ended up being only $11.83. Whew! The buyer said it arrived in great condition!

Ken Griffey Jr. Pepsi Advertising Standee – Picked this at a yard sale for arbound $5 and sold for $100.
Starburst Clock – Paid $10 at an estate sale and sold for $125.
Forest Service Ration Bag – I got this for $1 at a rummage sale and took a best offer of $45. Forest Service stuff always sells, and I didn’t see anything else like this. Think I should have held out for more? It’s always hard when you need a sale!
Easy Rider Helmet – Paid $5 at a rummage sale and took a best offer of $75. I was hoping to sell this much higher, but I’ve had it for quite a while, so I happily accepted $75.
Homemade Ecto Goggles – Probably my favorite sale of the week, because I made them out of junk around the house for my son’s Halloween costume and sold them for $49.99! I just made them from various parts and pieces of flashlights, etc. I think I should go into business making them!
If you didn’t already know, keep an eye out for those Christmas wish books from Sears, JCPenney, etc. Some of them sell for a lot!

Money spent on new inventory this week: 0It was another pretty strong week for me. The first part of the week was amazing, and I’m sure the long weekend probably helped.
Like you said, I don’t think Black Friday is any big deal on eBay, but it’s definitely a good time to get some deals in the stores. This year a lot of the prices are good ahead of time, which I love because I refuse to shop on Thanksgiving, making people work the holiday so people can save a few bucks. As a LONG time retail worker, please don’t shop on Thanksgiving, folks! (Unless it’s on eBay, of course!)
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Money spent on new inventory this week: $29.00Last week was good, but now that I add it up, not quite as much as I thought it would be. But this week has been really busy so far. I’ve been selling lots of Christmas stuff, so I’m really glad I got all of that listed in time. Also, I had an amazing $180 sale for a pair of Christmas themed Converse, but they are still unpaid, so I’m just watching the clock waiting to relist them in time for Christmas. They are super cool, so hopefully they will go before the holiday. I’m loving the holiday sales and my phone cha-chinging all the time. I had 9 sales yesterday, which is great for me!
That looks promising. Thanks!
Yeah, it might be best to stay away! I will help, but maybe I’ll try not to get in it too deep, especially considering that it could really cut into my eBay time.
We’re still in negotiations for my cut. Not sure yet if it will be a % of sales (for the eBay part) or an hourly rate. But I also WANT to help out because it’s family and because that kind of stuff is fun for me. They already had one auction for certain types of items (I wasn’t involved with that), and got burned by the auction company. Stuff went way cheap and it was just really poorly executed, so they’re nervous about hiring out again. But we definitely might have to do something like that for a lot of this though.
Store Week 10/7/18 – 10/13/18
Total items in store: 1840
Items sold: 24
Cost of items sold: $66.60
Total sales: $970.58
Highest price sold: $240.00 (Pendleton blanket)
Average price sold: $40.44
Returns: 2 for a total of $170.00. Ouch! Another $50 return on the way, but they were all just the wrong size.
Money spent on new inventory this week: $5.00This was the second week in a row that a Pendleton blanket was my top seller. I guess I should get to listing the beauty that I still have in the basement!
I mentioned a long time ago that a family member recruited me to help her clear out her grandfather’s estate. Well, it’s been a long time trying to get everything with the estate settled before we could even go through the stuff (and still might be a couple of weeks). But I finally got to go up and take a look at the outside stuff this week. WHOA! This is the estate of an amazing guy who could do just about anything. There is a lot of very valuable stuff, but unfortunately most of it is stuff we don’t know much about. What I’ve seen so far is tons of American Pickers type stuff …rusty gold! Antique (and other) cars, old tools, tons of antique car parts (Model T, etc.), and similar items. A lot of it is under overgrown blackberry bushes and in scary lofts that look like they could come crashing down. Looks super fun, but VERY overwhelming! We’re thinking some eBay and probably a few estate sales will be necessary, but we are worried about to many people knowing what’s on the property since it’s very valuable and not locked up. We’re hoping to clear space by selling some cars first (there are probably around 15-20 cars/car bodies) that don’t run, so we’re not sure how to sell them without bringing a bunch of people on the property. Sorry, I know this isn’t really too eBay related, but any suggestions would be welcomed!
