https://www.ebay.com/itm/335198013632 It was not a thrilling week for sales by any means, but I’ll point out that I have sold I think all of my Denby china pick ups. In the meantime, I have not done well with Dansk and had to redonate several items. Now I totally pass on Dansk unless it’s wood.

I shopped three Goodwills in Seattle, and boy, is that a tough town for picking things that have not already been found and priced up. For a city that size it seems like there are not a lot of thrift stores. Also without a car it was a challenge, but I did it. I went to 2 regular stores and the bins for an hour (only clothing only unfortunately and closed early). Some of the haul pictured I will list online, some I will save for my pop up vintage market booth dream, and a couple of things I am keeping for myself. I listed some of the picture 2 items right from my Airbnb.
Thanks Sharon! Yeah, I have a friendly mailman at the moment but I have noticed no scans since. I ship the next morning mostly so I think it usually arrives on time anyway. But 98% of the time I drop it at the post office in the bin. Ours have very long lines usually so I don’t wait for a worker to scan.
Zero for me. Finished taxes, got ready for trip, enjoying trip. Next week I have some annual fundraising obligations but I hope to also list on EBay.
I just finished doing my Cogs and seeing my schedule C. I’m also overflowing with inventory and need to get a handle on things. We have a lot going on outside of eBay but I would love to do booth selling this summer in the hot tourist area.
I had a chat with one of my weekday flea market friends and she said spring is best there. It’s cheaper $35 and you can spread out more but I think the sales would be fewer and prices lower. She does Zelle and cash only and I guess it works out ok.
It’s a fun vibe though at the more curated one in the tourist area. We’ll see if I can get my act together by summer. They have a 6 x 8 for $60 but that would be limited. I don’t like having inventory in my space but I’m starting to see larger items I would like to flip. Just passed on this really cool vintage ship wheel wine rack….
I’m also needing to just have a conversation with myself about pricing. There’s a YouTuber saying “it’s better to get some of the money all of the time than all of the money some of the time”. Since sourcing is not an issue here I really need to adopt this asap.
eBay told me to pound sand on all of it. Supposedly I put quantity 2 on the last one I thought was a ghost listing. The late delivery one was for no scan 4 days. I put it in the mailbox at Xmastime so even though I shipped the same day it arrived late and they wouldn’t remove that one. Oof. Unless I find the plates later that sold multiple times, I’m very confident that was not my mistake because I remember updating that variation listing when I only had 3 left, but oh well. 😩😣
apparently they are telling a lot of sellers to pound sand lately.
Can you print the sku as part of the year end report? That would work if I didn’t include the letter. Thanks
Justin Resells has new software coming out but you still have to enter everything and it’s probably more analysis than I personally need. I need to find out more. He approved me for the beta
@Thanks Jay. Their choir is amazing, as is the director.
I don’t think it was my mistake, especially the last one I just sold that wasn’t multi-quantity. No idea.
I found a place on the website to ask for dings to get taken off. I had yet another ding for something I shipped and got scanned same day but arrived late.
I broke one sold item while cleaning and didn’t have a box in time for a big long one. So all of this added up and is making my sales poor. I hope they fix all of the ones I requested.
@VL I thought it might be cool to resell fabric and straw shoppers (totes) in the booth. I’ve started picking up a few inexpensive, clean ones.
Sales were really poor for me last week. I haven’t been listing but I also got hit with a “ghost listing” resale of a single quantity item I just sold. I contacted Ebay for Business with the order numbers and the help was super poor. I can’t find the request a call page on the website but will need to call today. I sold the same item three times in December (that one was multi-quantity) and didn’t complain about that because I was super busy. Two legitimate issues and now my rating is way down, which probably has something to do with the poor sales. I’ve heard some tech issues people have been having so I guess they must be doing some work.
Working on my taxes and we will visit Seattle where my daughter will perform at their Symphony Hall. Then I really need to get back to listing and calm down with the sourcing. All of our annual rummage sales came all at once this year it seems.
It was an absolutely terrible week for sales. My fault for not getting my listing photos done. I also had a ghost listing that sold and a couple of other dings have me down to above standard. I need to call Ebay. I neglected to call them about earlier problems and now they are adding up. Not smart on my part. Did sell this cool vase, and took a lower offer to try to get things moving. https://www.ebay.com/itm/335010157637
https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18031765384907541/ The highlight shows my favorite church sale finds. I bought about 33 items for $97. New in package Pottery Barn, modern stuff, several pieces of original art besides the horse in the link, vintage items, etc. I made it first to the art work and linens again. I was junkin’ so hard I scraped my leg and didn’t even notice until afterward. This church sale is my favorite of all. It rained a lot for here, so it seems like they are all cropping up at once. I’m getting overwhelmed with stuff.
The prices were super reasonable, but on my second check out they woman said the blanket (in photo) was Navajo and she wanted $15 apiece for the two she noticed. I bought 5 of them. I thought they are unusually soft for Mexican or South American blankets, but I don’t think I can call them Native American. If anyone has any knowledge about this, please reach out.
I stopped at an estate sale on my way home and bought a full box of bubble wrap and packing paper. Also a few vintage planters and floral supplies for a dollar each. Whew.
Sadly, nothing for me. Working my bookkeeping for the year. How I wish Ebay would add a hidden field for COGS so it would pop up in the spreadsheet. Still, it’s easy work.
All of the local annual rummage sales are pretty much popping up in a row. I went to my favorite church sale and gorged. The garage is looking hoarderish while I work on taxes. Overall, I would say I fell into the too much sourcing trap again in 2023. Pickier sourcing, but not enough listing. Need to right the ship. If selling in person were successful, it would be nice to move a group of things faster.
I’m also distracted with my new business Instagram account and looking at pop up display stuff. Really want to do it this summer but I’m not a half in kind of person…
Did cross-post on two District sites – Niknax and just onboarded to VAMP (Virtual Antique Marketplace). Starting to get a feel for how to play it on Niknax, though it’s flooded and tough to get sales generally. The new one has a much better shopper to seller ratio.
To recap, lots of distractions from Ebay listing and Ebay is punishing me.
@Vintagelacy thanks again! Postcards is a great idea vs. business cards. I like that.
Hi Craig. So I had a strong reaction to the pulley because of the paint. I didn’t find another quite like it in solds, but used Terapeak to set a price based on the highest brown pulleys sold. I feel like if I have a strong reaction, someone else will love it as much as I do. I also don’t mind keeping certain cool items around to put in my featured item bar in my Ebay store.
